Welcome to PS Peacock – a home that combines iconic mid-century architecture with fresh interior design, an open floor plan, and spectacular western views of the San Jacinto Mountains. This is the ideal Palm Springs vacation pad; built in 1955 and completely updated for modern living including kitchen and baths. This desert escape captures the Southern California vibe of yesteryear while staying current with new appliances, quartz countertops, gas fireplace and an outdoor firepit. All the bedrooms and the living room are equipped with Smart TVs, portable desks for remote work, and an enhanced wi-fi network for excellent speeds throughout the home.
The spacious floor plan of the living areas has been designed to accommodate your entire group. The kitchen, dining room and living room are all open to each other and offer direct access to the pool and patio. Inside there is plenty of seating for everyone in your group to connect, spend time together and enjoy informal dining, lounging by the living room double-sided gas fireplace or watching a movie. The all new, fully-stocked chef's kitchen offers a butcher block side island, a gas range, side-by-side fridge. Indoor formal dining for up to twelve with an additional breakfast table near the pool slider.
The layout of the sleeping quarters makes PS Peacock very appealing to larger families and groups with a mixture of couples and singles. There are three suites - all with king beds, ensuite baths, smart televisions and ample closet space. The primary has a private patio with a ping pong table, conversational seating and gorgeous mountain views. This suite also has an extra alcove that is perfect for a portable crib. The other two secondary suites have direct pool access. Two additional guest rooms (one with a queen bed, the other with two extra-long twins, which can be converted to a king upon advance request). In 2022, the owners upgraded all the mattresses to Helix Midnight mattresses.
This vacation home has great curb appeal, off-street parking for five cars, and a private yard with a huge mosaic tile pool (be sure to check out the artistic inlay of seahorses and coral reefs), an adjacent spa, poolside double and single loungers, an outdoor dining area near the gas-lined BBQ and a separate private courtyard with a gas fire pit. This sun drenched yard is perfect for catching rays.
This property is centrally located in the quiet residential Sunrise Park neighborhood just a few minutes from Ruth Hardy Park, Desert Regional Medical Center, the casino, convention center and both the Downtown area and Uptown Design District of Palm Springs. Restaurants, nightlife and shopping boutiques are close by. Sunrise Park is a premier neighborhood of Palm Springs. The neighborhood is rich with architecture and history. It should be noted the city has sound ordinances that are strictly enforced. The owner(s) like to stress this home is ideal for a dream vacation and relaxation but is by no means a “party-central” home. Each guest is expected to be as good a neighbor as the owner(s) themselves. Special events like weddings are NOT allowed.
