You can watch the mountain bikers and zip line from your deck. Shuttle to Devils Postpone leave from lodge next door. No contact checking and daily garbage collection. Towels professionally cleaned and sealed. Overall a great place. Only complaint is the house makes loud noises at night. The tin roof expanding and retracting? Sometimes it is a big boom that scares you awake.
We booked this bc it was one of the few available dog friendly places we could find. Turned out to be so much better than expected. The Chalet is rustic, comfortable and cozy with everything you need. Location can’t be beat for skiing Mammoth as you can ski in/out right at Main Base Lodge. Skiing home after a full day of skiing and enjoying an apres ski drink from the front deck overlooking the mountain was enough to make it worth it. The trails around the property also provided a great playground for the kids to play and sled through the woods. And the on-sore management is super friendly and very responsive.
We can’t wait to stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay at your chalet. It was a perfect location, charming chalet, and private for our family. We would like to come back again soon. Thank you.
You have your own house right on the snow. It’s dog friendly and people were good about picking up after their pups. The fireplace was brilliant - warmed the whole place up. The loft bedroom got quite hot. The main bedroom doesn’t have a heater vent in. So we left the door ajar and the kids were fine. Everyone loved it. We skied home for lunch and ate in. Sledding in the evenings was a blast too. The dog had his best day here!
The snowcat on arrival was a bit of a pain. You have to unload your car and load it on the snowcat. They drive you a short distance. Then you unload the snowcat. Then you open the house and laid everything into the house. Was a bit of a pain with two kids skis boots, food, dog crate etc. but leaving I just carried the stuff from the chalet down the hill to the car. That was easy. Also this chalet is the nearest one to the mammoth mountain inn.
Great location, fun cabins. A few things were broken when we arrived but we told Shelley and it was no problem. It wasn't too snowy when we got there so getting our stuff to the room was easy.

Great place to stay for skiing
Being so close to Mammoth main lodge skiing is awesome. The ability to walk to/ ski to the lifts is great. We were able to cook our own meals and the chalet was perfect for our party of 4!

Fabulous Stay and Clean!
We were so excited to get to Mammoth for the first time and spend time with our friends and dogs in the snow of Mammoth-as this year has had plenty. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the cabin and friendliness of all those here. The owners were extremely accommodating and kept in touch with us before our visit-even sharing some pictures of the cabin with us of the snow. The snow cat ride to the cabin was fun for the kids and great to haul all of our gear/bags. The location of the cabin was wonderful for viewing the lifts and the close enough to parking for us to hop in the car and get in to town. As this was our first trip, we surely look forward to coming back and seeing Mammoth in the summer!

Great getaway!
This chalet was exactly like the pictures and met our expectations perfectly. It was clean, updated, and in a perfect location- close enough to all the main attractions, but quiet and peaceful. Friendly and super helpful staff and new friends. In fact we already booked our next stay!

Best Cabin
We have stayed in Chalet 1 several times, it is perfect for our family of 5. We are walking distance to the ski school and can see the kids on the chair lift. We love the home away from home feel, with all the
amenities I could possibly need including a DVR (we got to record our football game) . Can't wait to come back.

Great Place to Stay / Ski-in / Ski-out
We've stayed in Chalet 1 two years in a row and our friends have stayed in others so we've been in many of the chalets. They're all very clean and well kept. Chalet 1 has two spacious living areas and the views of the mountain are amazing. The bedrooms and bathroom are very clean and well kept. When you arrive in the winter, the staff greets you at your car and places your gear in a SNOW CAT to take you to the chalet. It's really fun and the kids love it too. All the chalets allow you to ski-in and ski-out. You can walk to the lodge or Yogi's for dinner if you feel like leaving. Or you can cook in the well-appointed kitchen if you want to stay in. In the morning you don't need to rush to get to the mountain because you're next to it. We typically start early, but after a few days in a row it's nice to know you can start later and not worry about parking. You just put on your skis and go. After a few hours on the mountain you can go back to the chalet to hang out. If you feel like hitting the mountain again, you just go. The place is awesome. So is the staff. They literally go out of their way to ensure your stay is great.

PERFECT LOCATION
We love staying at the Chalet's and this is now our favorite Chalet. It has everything, comfortable furniture, heater for cold winter nights, and plenty of seating to entertain. With my parents staying in Main Lodge, it was an easy location for them to come over every night and eat dinner, but gave us our space for the night. We will absolutely be staying in Chalet 1 in the future.

We spent a lovely weekend at the Chalet, and will definitely be back. Was a joy from start to finish, not to mention the mere minutes it took to get to the Main Lodge. Thank you!

Great location, dog friendly and clean
We had a great time, the place is very clean and dog friendly. Clearly previous guests were also grateful to find a nice dog friendly place and respected the space. Great hiking for the dog in the early am right across the street and behind the chalets. Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Mountain bike rentals are a short walk away, the trails are right in front. We would stay again, price was very reasonable. There were only two of us so it was more space than we needed but it was nice to have the extra room. Very peaceful too!

Great Place and Perfect locaton
Me, my wife and our dog spent a weekend in this beautiful place. The dog loved it. The house is very clean and cozy and is in a great location. Mammoth Mountain Ski Area Gondola is next to the house. Also the shuttle to Devils Postpile National Monument stops almost in front of the house. Bike rental is next to the Gondola. The place is very dog friendly. The property owner and the property manager are very nice! We definitely will come back and recommend this nice place.

Extraordinary Cabin for an Extraordinary Weekend
Me and two of my pals and two of our dogs came up for Memorial Day weekend, which was also the last weekend to catch some skiing and snowboarding fun times at Mammoth this year. It also happened to be all of our birthdays, and since none of us had ever enjoyed any birthday shredding before, we figured this would be the best place to stay for it.
We. We're. Right.
Chalet 1 was the absolute sickest place to spend a weekend shredding the gnar, snarfing the spring pow, and just plain getting rad! The cabin was so close to the chairlifts it only took a few seconds to walk over and catch a ride. However, it was still nestled in the woods enough to have a private stay. The facilities were amazing! The beds were like clouds, the shower was perfect after a day of shredding, and burning a fire during evening shenanigans made it ultra cozy!
We brought our dogs and they absolutely loved it! They got to run around, chase squirrels, sniff butts, and bark at snarky deer. BONUS: None of us got eaten by bears!
I've stayed in a lot of resort towns and sometimes you'll get stuck with the jaded slumlord type of people that just want to take your money. Thankfully, this was not the case at Chalet 1! The staff here were the most genuine, sweetest, helpful people you could ever hope for. Friendly from the second I arrived, these two fully encapsulated the joy and beauty of being up in Mammoth.
If you're looking to have a tremendous weekend, you've found the right spot! Stop browsing rental sites and just book this place already!
I've never had a better experience renting a cabin and I'll definitely be back!!

Perfect Place to stay
Can't get closer to the lifts. They offer lift ticket discounts and board rental delivery. No problems with noise. No one can hear you all night. I will stay here any time I come to mammoth.

Great location for skiing/boarding families
This is a great spot for skiing and boarding families. Right across the parking lot from Main Lodge gives you easy access to the mountain, lessons, etc and a short walk back for lunch, or trading off child-care duties. The chalets are older buildings, but #1 where we stayed is well taken care of and is the closest to Main Lodge. The other buildings seemed well taken care of too. The managers are friendly and attentive. Other chalets are set back in the woods a bit with no direct car access in the winter, but there is a snow cat to help get your luggage to and from the chalet. The ride is a lot of fun for kids as well. The snow cats also keep a nice, long sledding hill groomed at the back of the complex for off-mountain snow play and there's at least one hiking trail that starts at the complex. We had a great time and would definitely consider staying there again.

The Chalets are the best
I have been coming to Mammoth for 40 years and lived here back in the 80's. There is no better location or set up in all of Mammoth than then the Chalets, period. If you are into skiing or boarding, the fast and easy main lodge access is the only way to go. The Village condos, everything Canyon Lodge and Juniper suck because you have to catch 2-3 lifts to get where you can get with 1 lift that you are right next to at the Chalets. The units are old and not the best but they blow away the "condos" at the Mammoth Mountain Inn. I have been coming to Mammoth for 40 years and this is the only place I have stayed only at the Chalet for the last 25 years. Nothing else comes close.
