Surrounded by wildlife galore. 1/2 Mile to Organic Farmer's Market (In season). Minutes to several All-Sports Lakes for fishing and swimming.

**The Clam river is beautiful to wade in, to splash and cool off or to catch minnows, it’s usually about knee deep, not good for kayaking or fishing.

Three Bedrooms plus a loft. (Please be aware of the sleeping arrangements, there are three single beds in a bedroom upstairs, another single in a second bedroom up, and a king sized bed in the loft upstairs. There are two queen options on the main level, one in a bedroom and the second is a pull out sofa.)

*Quiet time is 10pm, this is not a party spot. While we welcome up to ten people, we do not encourage a party or family reunion. (It’s hard on the well and septic system to have any more people than ten.) No fireworks! Too many other homes and it’s heavily wooded.

We enjoyed our stay. The home was clean and very well taken care of. Plenty of room for the seven people on our trip. Very peaceful outdoor setting. I would highly recommend staying at this property if you’re planning to visit the area.

Fantastic house!

Beautiful and very clean house with all the little things you might ever need. The owner is very thoughtful about providing anything you might need or have forgotten. Great location central to many different areas and experiences. Very peaceful and beautiful. My family had the best time and definitely plan to make this one of our regular vacation destinations!

Relaxing and peaceful

This property is amazing. The description is spot on. The house is very clean and has everything you’ll need for your stay. It’s very relaxing and peaceful, just what we were looking for. The river is great for wading in and the yard is the perfect size for kids to run around. The property owners’ daughter, Denise, is very responsive and was a big help. I would highly recommend this house to couples for a quiet getaway or a family for a fun time away.

Executive Riverfront Retreat

This place on the Clam River is absolutely wonderful, from it's gorgeous setting in the woods on the river to the beautiful house, inside and out. Everything you need plus more. Denise, is a great host, helpful and very personable. There were 8 of us and not a complaint from anyone. We were very comfortable. I can't say enough about how nice it is. I highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful house and peaceful property great for families

We recently spent a few nights at the Lake City house with another family. The house is absolutely beautiful inside, with lovely finishings and comfortable beds. Downstairs is open concept, and it had lots of room for the two-year-old and six-year-old to play. It also had super comfortable furniture for lounging, internet, and a television with lots and lots of channels. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-equipped. There were lots of toys for the kids to play with, as well as a pack n play, a booster seat and high chair. Even though we rented during the hottest weekend of the year to date, the house stayed amazingly cool inside. We stayed completely comfortable, even with just one window unit air conditioner and a couple of fans running. Outside there was tons of grass for the kids to run around, many outdoor toys, and very comfy lawn furniture. Although there are neighbors on both sides, you can't see or hear them because of the trees. The property is right against Clam River. The river was very easy to enter (the banks were just a foot high), and the water was nice and shallow with a totally sandy bottom. The kids loved it. We spent half of our time in the water searching for minnows and crayfish, swimming, and floating on tubes. Like all Michigan houses near water, there were mosquitoes and flies, but they were not a problem at all so long as we were careful to apply bug spray. I'd recommend this property really highly. It was absolutely the most family-friendly vacation rental we've used, and one of the most comfortable!

Perfect spot!

We had the most wonderful and relaxing time! The house must have been recently updated and was extremely comfortable. The upstairs had a surprising layout, the stairs take you directly into one bedroom with two smaller bedrooms on either side. But it worked out perfect for our group. The downstairs in open and the kitchen was fully stocked. During our stay Michigan went through an extreme heatwave and while the house is not air-conditioned it was comfortable inside with the right combination of fans and windows. The bunk room upstairs does have a window air-conditioner which kept the upstairs cool. The kids loved the swing set! Clam river is right there in the backyard and was not exactly what I expected but it was great. It is maybe a foot or so deep so no swimming for our group but it was sandy bottomed and the kids had a blast exploring. Denise was kind enough to find bikes for the kids and also located some lawn games so that we had plenty of options around. We used the bonfire pit a couple of times, it is not a raised pit so warnings went out to the kids and it was fun to hang around making s'mores. For us this house had a perfect location for the area, we celebrated 4th of July in both downtown Lake City and downtown Cadillac, which are both 15 minutes away. Everything you could need was found in the house, gazebo, or garage, you can tell that a lot of thought went into what a group might need. Denise was available if we had any questions and her communication was appreciated. This place really is a gem, we absolutely enjoyed every minute and will be making plans for a longer stay next time!

Wonderful family friendly home

Pride of ownership was evident from the moment we pulled up to the home! Beautiful property from the play place/sandbox, to the fire pit, to the gazebo, to the river, to the deck and finally into the house where it did not stop! Our 2 younger grandchildren (3 & 4) loved the children’s table and chairs and the rocker as well as all the toys and games. Our daughter-in-law loved the baby gate for the stairs, she said the owners thought of everything for renters with children! Great location for enjoying Cadillac, Lake City and beyond!

Tranquil Haven on quiet river

My husband & I had a delightful stay at this cottage on Clam River. Very clean, and nicely decorated with plenty of amenities inside and out. We loved being so close to Cadillac & Lake City, with many restaurants and activities to choose from our stay went by too fast. Serene Riverfront Retreat was exactly as described and the photos are spot on. We look forward to staying here again. Thank you Denise for hosting us on our anniversary.

Cozy cottage!!

Girls weekend!

Words can not describe how clean and beautiful this home was!! Beautiful location, had everything 5 ladies could ever ask for! The owner was super friendly and very quick on their responding. Not far away from shopping till you drop Traverse City! We will definitely be booking this house again next year!

Recently retired from the Christmas Tree Industry, and owners of a Conifer Nursery, they now have time for their 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Diane and Phil's daughter and son in law manage the property. Denise and Tom will meet you and see to your needs.
