I am the owner and day to day manager of Door County Stay, a local company that offers five high quality, five star rated, vacation rental homes in the Baileys Harbor Area of Door County. To complete your rental you will have to sign our e agreement. THIS is a MUST RENT

Honestly, there are no words to describe just how great this home is. I have stayed many places in Door County and nothing comes close to this property. From the huge perfectly landscaped yard to the clean beautiful house itself. We enjoyed hanging outside on the deck, grilled dinner, and took many pics in the garden. We also enjoyed walking to the Blue Ox and down to Lake Michigan. It was very easy to work with the home owner and she went above and beyond to make sure our time was perfect-from the welcome card & fresh flower on the table to being available for any questions and/or recommendations. Love Love LOVE this place!!!

The house is extremely comfortable and just as depicted — except for the gardens, which are even lovelier than described! The location is about as good as it gets without being right on the water. Martina was a wonderful host. We loved it.

Location peace and beauty

Words escape me. The wrap around porch and grounds are furnished beautifully. The house is designed to smooth and make you happy. The house and grounds are integrated. Comfort is high. House is well stocked. The owner treats you like a guest. She even furnished a file of door county helps an hints. Best in the Door.

Very disappointed with our experience with the owner.

We had a lovely week staying in this home and enjoyed the gardens very much. We stayed for a week while we were working on a home we purchased in Door County that was not move in ready. We left the house on Friday morning before 10 am when the cleaners were to arrive. 5 days later, I received a call from Martina accusing us of breaking a door while we stayed there. She said it was a screen door and the lock was broken and missing a piece, we never have locked a screen door before in any home and we only used the door a couple of times when my husband went out to grill. She later sent us a message through VRBO that we broke the french door. Nothing seemed out of order to us when we used it. If it had, my step dad, (who is a handy man and was staying with us and helping us on our own house construction,) would have fixed it. We had no idea what she was talking about. We offered to come over the next morning (or at any time since we were in Door County for most of the summer) to see what she was refering to and she said that was not possible as there were people staying in the house. We asked her to then send us some photos of what the problem was. She never sent us any pictures and did not contact us again, however, she then charged us $500 for the damage. I'm not sure why you would wait 5 days to notify a guest that there was a problem. Especially when she told us she goes through the house thoroughly with her cleaners and inspects everything with them. She also messaged me that the " house was also completely covered in dog hair even though we were told it was a non shedding dog, very disappointing.". I wrote in my message when we booked the house that we had a golden doodle we would be bringing with us, not that we had a non shedding dog. We paid an extra dog fee in addition to the cleaning fee and linen fee. If you don't want dogs staying in your house that's fine, change your listing. It appears in the reviews that another group who had dogs with them was also charged an additional $500 for cleaning. I wish I had read that beforehand, live and learn. We dispute these charges and won't be recommending this host for their lack of communication and follow up to resolve an issue they accused us of unjustly.

Excellent home and grounds.

Our family spent a week at this property and loved it. The home is clean and airy. The grounds are beautiful. It is walking distance to anywhere in downtown Bailey's Harbor. Overall our trip was a great experience made possible by a great property.

Beautiful place

The landscape is incredible. Our kids loved running in the yard and swinging on the tire swing. The beds are super comfortable and there’s so much space to relax after a long day hiking and biking.

Wonderful!

This is a beautiful property. The lovely home integrates perfectly with nature - the garden is an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10 and the house is lovely inside and also has exactly the right covered porch to connect with nature. We loved it - even on a rainy day. just a block or so to a bunch of restaurants and bars, and peaceful here at the house. The owner, Martina, is very professional and responsive. Looking forward to a future visit.

Beautiful Property

You will not be disappointed if you rent this property. The garden is lovely and there is ample space to play in the grass. There is plenty of comfortable seating to hang out as a family both inside and outside on the porch. There is a large table to eat at inside and a table on the patio where you can eat outside and enjoy the weather. It is easy walking to restaurants in Bailey’s Harbor and a short drive to many other Door County attractions. Only watchout is that in the current environment with COVID-19, not all local restaurants are open or do takeout in the first half of the week. But that is easily remedied if you cook for yourself - kitchen is large and has everything you need.

Enjoyable stay with a not so enjoyable ending.

Never in my family’s 30+ years of owning, renting and vacationing in Door County have we ever experienced such blatant swindling by a property owner. Due to recent water damage to our North Bay home, we thought we were fortunate to find availability and stay at Carriag Mor for the week. The property is in a good location in downtown Baileys Harbor and has a beautiful backyard. The home is in good condition, despite the worn wooden floors and outdated appliances. As advertised, we were allowed to have small children and pets during our stay. We received detailed instructions from the home owner on how to properly use the home throughout our stay, as well as instructions on how to prep the house upon our departure. We spent the week at Carraig Mor with another couple, a toddler and two medium sized dogs. It was a very enjoyable week with friends and family. When the week came to an end, it was bittersweet as we prepared the house for next week’s visitors. All departure instructions were followed and we all left the property on time. We were instructed that a cleaning service is provided, in addition to our cleanup, to prepare the house for other renters. To our shock and disappointment, we were immediately notified that our security deposit would not be returned due to clean up of dog hair - only dog hair as damages nothing else. Specifically siting 22 man hours worth of cleaning during “tough times” as the damages rationale. This news was disheartening especially since we cleaned the house before departing and paid a steep daily rate in dog fees, AND a cleaning fee, AND a linens fee. If there was an issue with the property having dog hair, it should have not been advertised as dog friendly, and they should not have taken our money for the daily dog fees and the money from the security deposit. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage, but knowing what we know now about the property owner’s customer service and lack of transparency, we will never stay at this property or any other of their properties again.

Comfortable home in nice location

Overall we are very happy with the experience. The home has more upscale feel to it. I felt that location was convenient to go to the more tourist oriented cities. We did have to pay extra for linens. We chose to bring our own.. There is the opportunity for about nine people to stay there which is a little bit larger than most places. It was very clean and welcoming. We would definitely be happy to stay there again.

Great family stay

It was a wonderful property to stay with kids they had a lot of great outdoor space. Our kids enjoyed it and there is plenty of space for everyone without feeling we were on top of each other. It was a little ways away from all the hustle and bustle so it’s nice and peaceful. Would love to stay there again.

Fantastic Property

Our family rented to of Martina's houses, Carraig Mor and Carraig Dale. Carraig Mor was right downtown and we could walk to everything. The garden was just starting to bloom, very beautiful. Carraig Dale was about 2 miles outside Baileys Harbor and was also a fantastic property. Both properties were very clean and Martina was super helpful during our weekend stay. Would definitely rent again.

Beautiful Property in a Great Location

What a beautiful house and gardens. We were a group of 8 women golfers on a golf getaway weekend and were all very comfortable, and had a great time. We were even treated to a doe and her fawn looking in on us through the back picture window one evening. The location of this house is wonderful, with easy access and within walking distance to many restaurants. The golf courses in this area were also very enjoyable and playable, with the leaves just starting to turn. It's going to be a spectacular fall display.

Perfect vacation home for families or getaway with friends!

The home is lovely and perfectly outfitted for vacationing. The gardens, patio, and wrap around porch are relaxing and even prettier than the photos. The location is ideal for easily getting to all of the great DC activities but you could easily hang out in Baileys Harbor also. Great owners, very respnsive and friendly. Would definitely recommend and book again.

Carraig Mor - One of the best places to stay in Door County

The house is clearly well-loved and well cared for, and is very comfortable for smaller or larger groups of people. When we arrived, it was spotlessly clean, yet welcoming. The open kitchen/dining room/small living room are the first areas that catch the eye when you enter. Cooking with a group is remarkably easy, because the kitchen island provides ample space for people to be on any side and still not interfere with the main chef -- whether they are helping prepare the meal or enjoying each other's company. In addition, the kitchen has ample storage space for your own food (shelves and refrigerator space) and offers just about everything a cook would want (we did bring some of our favorite pans and knives by preference). Having an R/O water source in the kitchen is great; the water is refreshingly cold. The microwave isn't as powerful as we expected, but that's a minor issue. The spacious kitchen opens onto the dining area, which has a cozy living room off to the side. Another much larger living room overlooks the gardens. Such a thoughtful layout makes it very easy for people to spend time together or to enjoy some quiet time (introverts and extraverts can co-exist comfortably). We appreciated having laundry facilities on site (we were glad we could wash out insect repellent!). Bring your own laundry supplies, of course. Throughout the house, the many windows make it easy to catch a breeze or a view. Even more views and breezes are available from the covered porch. The convenient bench by the front door provides a convenient spot to remove or don outside footwear. Upstairs, the beds are very comfortable, and the closets hold as many extra blankets and comforters as a person could wish. Don't forget to enjoy the stunningly beautiful and restful gardens! They are lovingly and carefully maintained and provide privacy and quiet. The landscaping fits the surroundings perfectly and incorporates both common and unusual plants. The design transitions so smoothly from grassy lawn to rock walls that the eye naturally follows the flow. We look forward to returning!

A joyful experience

We stayed in this lovely house for 4 nights, and it was a wonderful experience for all of us. The house is clean and very well prepared to move in. It is a ranch style house, so the kids get to run around and they were super happy. Games, books, all essentials... you count. They even have high chairs ready for your little ones, which is very very thoughtful. We are planning for another visit in next summer.:)

Beautiful cottage on the bluff with amazing gardens!

Our family was fortunate to have found this lovely home to stay in at the last minute when a tropical storm changed our Florida vacation plans. We spent the mornings enjoying the peaceful gardens, after walking down the block and getting a great cup of coffee from the Bearded Heart. Right in the heart of the cute town of Baileys Harbor, we could walk to several good restaurants and the lakeshore. The kitchen had everything you need to make a gourmet dinner for a night in of movies by the wood burning fire followed by excellent star gazing on the patio. The kids loved the tire swing! Every room was impeccably decorated with high quality furnishings and decor. Beds were super comfortable and I really liked having my own linens, surprisingly. Made the place feel like home and none of we're ready to leave when our stay was over. We have already recommended the Carraig Mor to several of our friends.

Great Getaway!

We stayed for a week in Carraig Mor Cottage in Bailey's Harbor and it was probably the most relaxing vacation I've ever had. The house is beautiful - from the gardens, to the kitchen, to the wrap-around deck and the great fireplace in the living room - it was a real escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city. And, the house is perfectly located to stroll down to the Harbor or jaunt over to some of the other delightful towns of Door County. I'd definitely recommend staying at Carraig Mor to see the sights and get some real R&R!

A Lovely Get-Away

My sister and I spent a lovely week at Carriag Mor, along with my Miniature Schnauzer. The cottage and its grounds are just beautiful. The kitchen is very large; I enjoyed cooking there and relaxing in the family room. Thanks to the many large windows and French doors, we had constant views of the garden. Upstairs, 2 of the bedrooms had views of the lake - I watched the sunrise every morning from those windows! It was wonderful to be able to take evening walks in Baileys Harbor, just a block away. I have already recommended this cottage to friends!

Stunning Home in Baileys Harbor

This was our first stay in this home and we loved every moment. The house is decorated so beautifully and was very clean. The landscaping was simply amazing. We couldn't take enough pictures. We have stayed in many homes in Door County and this was one of our favorites for sure. For the house being located right in town it is very private and quite. We can't say enough about the owner Martina. She was a pleasure to talk with and we really enjoyed her scupltures in and around the house.We also had the pleasure of meeting Peter the landscaper. What a great and interesting guy. We felt like we made a new friend. We could write all day about this property because it is that amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this special piece of heaven. We can't wait to return.

I started renting my home, Carraig Mor about 15 years ago. It was not your normal Door County Cottage, it was my home and was rented as such. Travelers really appreciated having the comforts of home away from home. I have since added four more properties. I have only recently started using Airbnb but I have been in business before them, and offering beautiful properties for rent long before it was fashionable. I have hundreds of five star reviews. Why they chose this property

Carraig Mor has an amazing garden. It is an unknown oasis in the middle of the town. You can walk to everything the town has to offer.

What makes this property unique

Carraig Mor has a botanical like garden that runs from the house down along the bluff. There is a nice lawn area that has a beautiful maple tree with a swing that the kids spend hours playing on. The garden is home to hundreds of varieties of flowers and hostas, some quite rare. This goes the same for the evergreens. You will see some very odd ones there. To help maintain the integrity of the garden we please ask that you do not pick any of the flowers and stay on the grass or paths. This garden was built over a forty year period by the late Mrs. Emily Hickey. She was a master Gardener and we are trying to keep the garden alive and well in her memory.
