We enjoyed our week on the Sunshine Coast. Everything went perfectly and we got to see some Deer, Kingfishers, Loons, Eagles and Ravens. We took our kayak down to the lake and took walks to the cute village, Many picture perfect lakes nearby.
We enjoyed a quiet few days which is what we needed.
Four adults, two couples who holiday together once or twice a year.
We enjoy new surroundings and prefer quiet locations just like this, so the fit was good.
We had an amazing stay at this property. Love the house. The property was great for our dogs. I love the seclusion. We loved how close it was to swimming water and the ocean and all the hikes around.
My only issue was with the drive way with a full size truck, it was a little challenging turning around.
This home was beautifully situated on the property in the trees. The covered porch, outdoor shower, and garden bay lake were heavenly. We had an awesome relaxing time at this place.
We had a great time here. The listing was very accurate. The check in process was great. The hosts were very detailed which made the process much easier. There is lots to do both North and South under and hour drive, and much within 15 minutes. The lake was excellent for swimming and right out the front door. We highly recommend and it’d be hard to find something as quiet and amazing for a similar price in the area.
We loved the homely feel of the property. It was warm and welcoming and felt like we were staying at a friends house and not a sterile rental. The outdoor shower was a hit and the preferred option after a day hiking. Sitting on the patio playing games with a drink of wine was the perfect end to a day. Walking down to the lake for a swim was refreshing and great way to unwind. Loved every minute of our stay. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Our stay in Garden Bay was exactly what we hoped for. We loved the diverse area, with the sea being close and offering beautiful hikes along the shore for all ages, lakes with pleasant water temperature to swim in and coffee to enjoy on the deck, giving you a 100% relaxing feeling. The cabin is tucked away, giving you a lot of privacy. We all LOVED the outdoor shower. Another special highlight was swimming with the painted turtles, well, not really swimming with them but they come up close at the Katherine Lake beach. Overall, all six of us had a great time and didn't want to leave.
Great escape from the city, only about an hour or so drive from Gibsons and close to so many lakes and Pender harbour. Gorgeous wooden cabin with high roofs and a patio that looks out onto Garden Bay lake. Wished we had stayed longer.
Mount Daniel trail head a five minute drive away and a fabulous vantage over the whole harbour. Tamara and Steve provided loads of great recommendations (thanks guys!)
The kitchen was fully stocked with all the equipment you need to feed yourselves for a few days (including oil, salt and pepper etc).
One of the upstairs bedrooms has a skylight with no curtain which is great but can be a bit bright early in the morning so recommend bringing a sleeping/eye mask.
10/10 would stay again 😊
The hosts were very friendly and gave a lot of information regarding hikes around. The cabin was fully equipped with lots of kitchen supplies. The backyard area is quite small but there's lots of trails to walk your dogs just a short drive away. There were plenty of blankets to curl up in and firewood available to heat the space. The pillows in the downstairs bed were quite small and flat, so I'd suggest bringing your own-the bed upstairs was very comfortable however. The listing advertises two bathrooms but be aware that one of them is just an outdoor shower, so there is really only 1 indoor bathroom. We sadly couldn't have an outdoor fire because of the fire van but it would have been a great place to curl up next to in the evenings. Overall, a great little get away with the family and a very pretty area.
Lovely spot and beautiful location - large open main floor to enjoy family time. Appreciated the kitchen - it’s very well set up and spacious. Beautiful outdoor setting and comfortable porch to relax.
Driveway was quite difficult, even with warning from owners, some cars could not make it up at all. Rainy weather made it much more difficult perhaps.
Appreciated the pet friendly accommodations. Communication with owners was excellent and made us feel very welcome.
We had the opportunity to stay and could not be happier. The location is tucked away and very private. You do need to drive a bit to get anything you may need but for us we loved the location. The house is beautifully designed with breathtaking wood beams and big windows to the forest. Lovely wood building stove to keep you toasty. Very clean and well equipped. Really the only small challenge was the driveway, its a bit steep so you need to be careful not to spin your tiers.
Lovely cabin feel to this 3 bedroom home. Pretty view of the lake from the deck. Wood burning stove is very effective and heats the whole house quickly. Kitchen is stocked with all the gadgets and utensils you need. Great family home.
This property is a perfect vacation home. We have everthing we need in the house. It is all equipped. Owner is very friendly. Response quickly and provide good directions and guides for our trip.
Thank you Tamara and Steve. We had a wonderful stay.
Our party of 6 adults (5 family and one friend) had a great week. We bought floating and headed out onto the lake, did lots of hikes, picked billions of blackberries and made some memorable meals in the well stocked kitchen. Great communication with Tamara. Highly recommended.
This property does not disappoint!
A quiet forest setting with a view of the lake, and daily wildlife sightings. The house was clean and comfortable. The hosts were very responsive, and made some welcome suggestions about hiking and swimming in the area.
We would absolutely stay here again.
My husband, teenage kids, 2 dogs and I enjoyed our stay! We were there on the hottest day of the year and it was nice to be close to the beautiful, clear lake for a dip before bed! Town is a bit of a drive but a pretty one. It was a relaxing holiday enjoyed by all!
The log home was beautiful, warm, and very inviting. Tranquil location with a gorgeous backdrop. Tamara was a great host!

About the host
Hosted by Tamara Litke
This is our future home that we share with others. We appreciate nature and the ability to be in a natural setting with the comforts of home. We've lived on the west coast for 3 decades and this is our sweet spot on the planet. We work in the environmental field and this is the best of BC.
Why they chose this property
We looked for years throughout BC and loved the unique triangle with 1300 feet of lakefront as well as the conduit linking the lake to the ocean. There's a nearby recreational area great for kids and 5 local freshwater swimming lakes. There is abundant wildlife (many birds as well as some elk and deer). Tree frogs sing and we can hear owls and coyotes at night sometimes. It feels far away, yet all the city amenities are close by if needed - the best of both worlds.
What makes this property unique
Privacy while being near activities if needed. Hand crafted home with many handmade ceramics and artwork. Wood burning cookstove in winter (experience or following instructions important) and driveway that is best with all wheel drive.
