Very charming rustic and full of historical olive mill features. Frederica couldn't do enough to make our stay go smoothly... with marvellous recommendations on where to eat.
Comfortable beds and large garden and living space to our section. The kitchen is small but there is huge outside sinks/work tops for preparing and barbecuing and big farmhouse kitchen table we sat out daily eating and playing cards.
This is set in a quiet hamlet but there are cars being driven fast going past the house. A car park space is helpfully allocated on the opposite side of road.
Thank you for a wonderful experience
A wonderful place to stay, the building is incredible, with a unique history. It is perfectly comfortable, despite the age. The beds were good and with a good choice of pillows! The kitchen is small but adequate, it had everything and very good quality knives (very important for any cook!). The gardens are incredible, the kids enjoyed spotting lizards, splashing in the water course for the old mill wheel and running around the grass area. We saw so much wildlife in the garden with some surprise visitors observed at night with a wildlife camera! The views are fantastic, and the surrounding area is beautiful for walking. A short drive to the beach and other areas for tourism yet you feel like you're tucked away in peace when sat in the garden for meal times. The neighbours are friendly, always greeting us. The hosts were terrific, Federica especially - she gave us a tour of the whole building and if we had a question or needed extra supplies (charcoal for the BBQ, fuel for the fire) she was only too happy to help. We will definitely be back for another visit. I couldn't find any fault at all, it was the perfect setting for a wonderful holiday for us. Grazie mille Federica! Ciao for now X

Dear James.
A thousand thanks! Grazie Mille!
I have only now read your review!
How nice to know that you have been okay.
Thanks for the nocturnal animal video, the badger is gorgeous :)
We were really happy to host you.
We hope to see you soon!

Buon rientro a casa!
I had a lovely stay in Casale Amati with my husband and baby. The house is cute and nicely done and it was great having the garden. Federica was very welcoming and couldn't have done anything more to help us during out stay. Grazie!

Man konnte daher gut schlafen.

amazing stay in a unique ambience ! TOP5Star ;-)
There is only one thing to say about Casale Amati / Il Frantoio: gorgeous!
We spend only a few days in Ortonovo but the charming home with all the carefully selected pieces in every room keep us warm welcoming and a bit of rolled back into another time (we just city guys).
There is a open single chamber, a shift over a tiny courtyard between a small waterfall and the IronGate. That is the place I watched the first episode of the last season of game of thrones and this place is for sure only made for this! When you get into it, you know.
We had breakfast outside in the backyard at every morning with a amazing view to the mountains.
If you need to be in place full of people and party - you are wrong at Casale Amati. And you are also be wrong if you need SmartHome, commercial automatic coffee machines with 10 different flavours of black water or Dishwashers....
If you are looking for some unique days in a unique condo - you are right.
By car, 20min to beach , 20min to Carrara, 30min to LaSpezia, 40min to Pisa.... and a short walk into the Mountains for hiking.
Uncomplicated contact to the owner on short notice and everytime helpfull ;-)
You are only a single click away from booking this great adventure - do it !
Hugs to you Federica and Enrico.
Cheers alex and fam.

Good morning Alex&family.
Thank you so much for being our guests, thanks for the words of enthusiasm. Your feed back helps us move forward.
We choose to use simple things but with a real taste,
.. we love MOKA and a good 100% organic arabica coffee powder! .. no beautiful and colorful pods with 10 flavors and arome, disposable, .. to pollute the world! :)
Thank you for sharing our way of thinking and living.
Sincere thanks.
Casale Amati is always open! We are waiting for you!

Beautiful old house with the amazing garden
It was the most beautiful holiday house I have ever visited. Wonderful house in an old mill equipped with everything we needed. And amazing garden with plenty of flowers, trees, mysterious paths and lizards. You can eat your meal outside and admire mountain view. Our whole family( 2 adults and 2 children 5 and 10 years old) loved it. We didn't managed to meet our host Federica but she was available by phone and send us nice text messages making sure we're ok. Thank you for wonderful time! We really hope we will come back here for longer stay next year.

Grazie ancora chicca :)
