About this property

Secluded Family Home, Large Deck, Outdoor Activities, Firepit, Lake close by

Family fun & relaxing is what comes to mind when you pull into the gated entrance of this stunning home nestled back off the road surrounded by beautiful cedar trees. The views off the huge back deck are truly breath taking. The sunrise over the Lake Whitney Bridge is something you will truly enjoy as you drink your morning coffee.
This home can easily sleep 8 adults. The wall of windows in the living area and master bedroom allow you to never miss a minute enjoying the scenery. The spacious kitchen, wood burning stove, aspen wood finishes, barn with ping pong table, tire swing, and many outdoor activities for our guests is just a short list of reasons why this will become your favorite vacation spot! The property is roughly 3 1/4 acres, allowing you to spread out and enjoy yourself.

The kitchen is fully stocked with a freezer with an ice maker as well as 6 ice cube trays, blender, Keurig & a coffee pot, toaster, full size oven, crock pot, cookie sheets, rice cooker, flat electric griddle, nice cookware, BBQ Grill & utensils, 2 prong skewers, hot pads & oven mitts, kitchen towels, wine bottle opener, and Ice Tea pitcher. We provide ground coffee (kept in freezer), powdered creamer, pancake mix, syrup, salt, pepper. (Please bring your favorite K-cup for the Keurig.) We have beautiful butcher block counter tops. Keep in mind that wood and water play well together, but not for long periods of time. For any water that gets on the counters we keep kitchen towels in the drawer to use to keep things clean and dry.

The bathrooms have the softest towels and are in different colors so everyone knows which towel is theirs to help avoid confusion! We've got a few toothbrushes in case you've forgotten yours (or your children didn't pack one, haahaa) The hot water heater can handle 4-6 quick back to back showers with ease, and there is a hair dryer in both bathrooms.

The bedrooms all have very soft cotton sheets with great pillows and soft quilts. Extra pillows are in the shams that match the bed quilts. The over-sized loft has 2 Queen size beds as well as a futon and the 2 downstairs bedrooms have Queen size beds. There is plenty of room to move around without feeling crowded. There are mirrors in both bedrooms so people can get ready while someone else is in the bathroom. Downstairs bedrooms also have dressers to place clothes inside if you are staying for a bit and do not want to live out of a suitcase for your trip. A full sized closet is available in the front bedroom to hang clothes in. The closet in the back bedroom is used as an owners closet.

The washing/dryer machine is a hard working stack-able that is underneath the stairs. Nothing better than returning home with clean swimsuits and kid’s clothes from the lake!

Boat owners, bring the boat with you as we have plenty of room to park and maneuver your boat and trailer on this property. There is also lake access just a 5 minute drive away with a secluded cove & a boat ramp and dock to launch your boat/canoe/jet ski. Swimming in the cove is also easy and enjoyable as there is a small beach area where the surrounding cliffs keep the waters calm and serene.

Lake Whitney is also listed as one of the TOP fishing lakes in Texas. Predominant fish species on the lake include striped and white bass, smallmouth and largemouth bass, crappie and channel, blue and flathead catfish. The lake offers scenic views of gently sloping banks, clear and hardwood timber as well as awe-inspiring views of the limestone bluffs.

Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the spectacular wildlife that frequents the property. Deer can be seen most mornings as well as a family of foxes, and many species of birds. The property backs up to a wooded area with no fence, so the deer come and go in the back yard like it is their own playground.

We are located near Corp of Engineer land and Hiking Trails with astounding views of Lake Whitney. The hiking trail is at the end of the street. We usually drive down to the end (you could easily walk it too), and then take the trail to a beautiful quiet cove with some of the best views of the lake. The shoreline along the trail is a great place for fossil hunting. You can see many ammonite fossils embedded in the rock there. We have found some great walking sticks that we leave on the front porch for anyone to use. If you find any good ones on your walks feel free to add to the collection.

Eclipse-of-a-Lifetime
Stayed at the Bridgeview Lodge for the 4/8/24 total eclipse. Could not have asked for a better experience. The house itself was perfect for two families with teen and college-age kids, with plenty of room to spread out and was very comfortable. The adults had private, nicely appointed queen bed rooms, while the kids had a huge loft with multiple beds and gave them a space of their own as well. The barn full of outdoor toys kept everybody entertained, and the huge back deck was perfect for enjoying the view of the eclipse (which was spectacular). Kitchen was well-stocked and convenient for putting together family sized meals at the huge dining room table. Our host Melissa went above and beyond for us, answering all of our questions quickly, both before, during, and after our stay. She even checked with the local sheriff to see if a burn ban that was is in effect would prevent us from using the firepit (it didn't). Just a very memorable experience in a great place. Highly recommend!

My wife & I have always loved the lake life. My family has owned lake property in Oklahoma for a couple of generations, and I grew up with summers at the lake fishing and skiing. The times spent at the lake have always been cherished memories, and my wife and I wanted that for our family! We have been searching for the last 4 years to find the perfect home to spend summers with family & friends and THIS was it!!! We would like to share our home with you too, so that you can make lasting memories with family and friends as well.

Why they chose this property

Lake Whitney has been known for it's clear water, great fishing & just it's sheer size. When it's a 3 day weekend and you want to go boating - so does everyone else! On this lake you can DO that!!! There is so much room that the lake has several coves for skiing and wake-boarding without having to dodge all the other boats. These coves make for excellent fishing as well. The cliffs on the lakes edge are simply magnificent and breathtaking to look upon.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the serenity and the wide open space. The views from the deck whether watching the sunrise, star gazing, or just visiting with friends and family provides a relaxed, stress free setting. We enjoy watching the deer wander through our yard, and the hawks making lazy circles over the tree tops in the distance. The community cove is another enjoyable perk to this property. We enjoy a quick dip in the Lake in the summer evenings as the sun is beginning to set. The high cliffs surrounding the cove always keep the waters calm, and give a breathtaking backdrop to our swim. There are numerous hiking trails at and around the property. You can walk to the secluded cove (about a 15 minute walk) from the side yard of the property. Spectacular views of the lake can be witnessed on the hiking trail on the Corp of Engineering land near the house. Walks are just breathtaking on these trails especially at sunrise and sunset.
