Why they chose this property
Larry has spent 30 years commercial fishing and guiding in the southeast area. Exploring the region by boat is a wonderful way to see the area. The Stellars Jay is ideal for efficient safe cruising in the region. We offer a intimate knowledge and recommended itineraries for the best experience. Our personal favorite is a 4-6 day circumnavigation of Revilligego Id. This trip allows a up close exploration of the misty fiords national monument. You can enjoy stunning views, hikes into the wilderness, dungeness crab feast. Our personal favorite is the bailey bay hotsprings. A great trip is Ketchikan to Wrangell with a stop at the Anan bear watching platform. Wrangel has a unique golf course and native culture. Stay for the day and play golf then spend a day or two getting back to ketchikan, Fishing and whalewatching along the way.
What makes this property unique
For a family or 2 couples the Stellars Jay is remarkably affordable. Exploring the area via boat allows the time to see wildlife, fish and explore while keeping the per person daily rate reasonable. For a group of six the rate brakes down to $250/day per person. You can catch a salmon and grill it up for dinner. Instead of a few hour tour to the fiords guests can actually hike the remote trails and fish for rainbow trout or sit in a rustic hot springs.
