Dave is the inventor and majority owner of Connect Ring patents. He is also the CEO of Forever Bulb, an advanced LED bulb design company. An inventor, business developer and marketer with broad interests from advanced manufacturing to new high-tech products, his current efforts include a communication/smart support ring, battery-as-propeller for drones/planes, and an inward-aiming LED bulb. Dave is now marketing his patents. He founded and sold advanced technology companies. Under his direction these companies created advanced automation manufacturing systems using robotics and vision systems for Shell, Goodyear, 3M, Ford Motor, Schwan’s and McDonald’s. Dave was finalist for 'Inc.’ Magazine’s' Entrepreneur of the Year. As CEO of ViA Dave and his staff achieved Minnesota’s Fastest Growing Technology Company of the Year Award in 2000 (Deloitte and Touche). McDonald’s awarded him 'Sharing the Dream' for inventing and building food service automation including the French fry dispenser used worldwide. Dave and his team designed, patented, built and sold flexible-wearable PCs including a wrist-based device for DARPA. Also for DARPA he conceived and led his team in building the first near-real-time continuous-speech two-way mobile/wearable language translator system. This was used by the US Army in Bosnia and later in over 60 languages/countries. He also conceived and directed the design/build/test HW and SW for a Navy ONR mobile-worn PC system to direct drones and later the first wrist-mounted communicator with display. Dave’s over 80 issued US and International patents include the 'see-through' touch display keyboard, a top 6% USPTO referenced patent. He has been a speaker at robotics, computing, and speech recognition conferences. Dave received Minnesota Governor’s Innovation Award in 2007 for the second time. Dave is on National Religious Coalition on Creation Care’s Steering Committee working to address anthropomorphic climate change. Karen and Dave have been building cabins in the woods of Canada for 42 years of their terrific 49 year marriage. This one is the result of his building and designing those and 17 houses and 2 churches. They have lived in the Canadian bush for many years as Dave did his business thing. Now you get the result of that experience. This property was picked because it is wild yet <1.5 hours from the Twin Cities and those incredible grandchildren. You might be lucky to see one of our local friendly bears. They usually stay away too much to be seen but so far several of our guest have seen them walking through our property.
