Relaxing lake house

We had a wonderful time staying at this lake house. Tucked in on a quiet side of the pond the kids enjoyed swimming and paddle boarding. Checkin and checkout was simple.

What a treat!

Our choice was perfect for our group of 5, just looking to end the summer in a beautiful place! The location was lovely, right on the water with loons singing to us every day! The pond was great for swimming and kayaking. The house had everything we could possibly need, with comfortable furnishings. We would not hesitate to return next year! Thank you, Ellen, our host!!

Perfect location

The house sits on Pea Porridge Pond. The view is simply beautiful and serene. The screened in porch is perfect for sitting and dining. The kitchen is a delight to cook in The location is ideal for travels around the White Mountain area Only downside was the lack of air conditioning on humid days and nights although there were plenty of fans to keep the air moving

Great family vacation!

We loved the fact that this property is right on the water! Our children and grandchildren had great fun on their paddle boards and kayak. We had plenty of room for the whole family. The home was immaculate and the kitchen fully stocked. There were only a couple of things we would have liked to have seen. There was no firepit outside which we enjoy in the evenings and navigating down stairs was a bit tricky without a full stair railing.

Good stay, not for young children

This is a lovely spot on a nice calm and quiet lake in great proximity to Conway. The loons were a nice touch! We loved the open concept main floor and all the space. The indoor outdoor living with the screened in porch was fantastic and the gas fire very welcome. There were however some issues with our stay. We had young kids with us and we had chosen a place with a sandy beach for them but this side cove beach pictured in the listing was overgrown with lilly pads and not usable which was a disappointment as that was a priority for us. We also had to place barriers against the wide spaces in the stair railings to prevent the kids from falling down to the basement or from first floor (notably the stairs are not pictured in the listing clearly). The pads on the stairs are not secured to the steps and one of my parents slipped on them. There was also a mandolin blade inside a puzzle box and my three year old nephew cut his finger on it. Ellen apologized for this and has said all boxes will be checked for such hazards in the future. We also found a loose rusty nail on the dock. Despite the title of the listing it is not a luxury property, there are several unfinished details (plywood hearth, rotten porch windows). There are some things not covered in the listing such as outdoor cameras (which the parents in our group cared about as the kids played outside) and the cost of disposing one's own trash 5$ per bag at transfer station.

Gorgeous lakefront

This was a great lakefront property - we rented boats and it's easy entry for kids and adults for boarding boats and swimming. The screen porch was also wonderful, as was the grill. And the house has plenty of space and good wifi.

Excellent week!

Lovely location with spectacular views. Weather was excellent. House is beautifully updated and spacious. Especially loved the screened in porch! Water was clear and clean and refreshing. Would definitely recommend!

2nd time here

We love it. No a/c but plenty of fans to move the air. Plus, you want to be in the pond anyways, no? Kitchen is well stocked. Keruig and a traditional coffee maker both there, with plenty of counter space, pots, plates, etc. Lots of room to spread out, screened in deck that practically doubles your space, 4 showers. Two eating areas inside. The only downside is the furnished basement is, well, a little basement-y. But again, we didn't book this house for a TV (which it does have) or a basement. We wanted the main living area layout (4 bedrooms, 2 masters, 4 baths, great kitchen and deck) and of course pea porridge. Clean, quiet pond. The loudest noise during the day is the kids laughing, and and night it's the loons. We'll be back again at some point. Thanks

Great Get Away

We had a great week on the lake in the White Mountains. Ellen was extremely accommodating and responsive to our situation. She helped us out before and during our stay. The house is enormous with plenty of room for our three boys to be in different areas of the house. Right on the lake and close to downtown North Conway and the ski mountains. We recommend this stay.

Peaceful and Beautiful NH Lake House

We had a great few days on Pea Porridge Pond. The house was spotlessly clean, very cozy and warm, and the kitchen was incredibly well-stocked. The views from the house are lovely, and we enjoyed exploring and snowshoeing around the lake. Very convenient to skiing and shops in Conway, yet in a peaceful and secluded location. We would definitely return!

Holiday visit

Our family of 6 adults and one under-two year old had a lovely stay at Pea Porridge Pond. The owners had left some holiday decor around which added a festive feel when we arrived. I would caution that the stair area was not safe for young children. The railings are not standard safety for young children and we had to keep our young one away from the stair area as it was too dangerous for a younger child. We had a nice time all together for the holidays in spite of a rainy Christmas. The place was big enough for us to stay inside for the day.

Really good fun

House is great for two families. Location 15min south or North Conway is perfect if you need to resupply. The house could use some maintenance, little bit of this and that here and there, but overall is great. Kitchen has everything you need. Plenty of bathrooms. Backyard is great for lounging. Water is great and lots of fun for kids. I think the only thing missing is a raft. Everything was really great and we had a relaxing stay.

Views alone are worth it!

Gorgeous views in the backyard. Very spacious for a large family (5 adults, 5 children). The kitchen was fully stocked and then some! We spent most of our time in the spacious backyard playing games and swimming. Loved that the water wasn’t deep off the dock for the kids, we would’ve loved a kayak or canoe to explore in and will rent one before we go next year. We did wish we had brought baby gates for the toddlers, the stairs to the second level and balcony beyond them were a bit scary for our little ones!

Relaxation in Nature

This location was exactly what we were looking for. The sunrises and sunsets over the pond were amazing and we loved watching the loons swim by. It was quiet and there was plenty of space for us to spread out.

Great family get-away!

We stayed with a group of 4 adults and 4 children 6 and under, and it was amazing! The 2 master suites worked so well for having 2 families and there was so much space for everyone. Nothing better than swimming right in the backyard and the beautiful sunsets every night. Ellen was great to communicate with!!

Great family vacation

House is very nicely furnished and very spacious and comfortable for our family. Great views of the lake. Beautiful sunsets over the mountains. Easy shallow access to water for the kids. Everything you need to have a great time and make some family memories. Just one tv but huge. It would have been nice to have another tv in the master suite which was wonderful. Lots of activities and restaurants close by. First impression when you walk in the door is wow this is really nice.

Unforgettable

We had a wonderful family stay in this beautiful lake house. My kids loved jumping off the dock and swimming around and watching the wild life. The house offers plenty of space and all amenities you will need and I liked best that there are big tables to accommodate a big family get together. We made unforgettable memories and the picture from the spectacular sun sets over the lake will find a space in our home. Thank you Ellen for being a great host - we will be back!!!!

Great Family Vacation Rental

We had a wonderful week at the lake house. The two master bedrooms were great for the parents and the kids enjoyed the two other bedrooms as well as some hangout time in the basement level media room. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch which has a dining table and an outdoor sectional. We made the short (5min) walk a couple of times to the sandy, clean, association beach down the street. It was about a 15 minute ride to North Conway, and a great home base for trips there, and to Storyland and Santa’s Village. The most special part of the house was enjoying the amazing views and sunsets over Pea Porridge Pond. Great family memories!

Excellent lake front property

Spent a week with my children and grandchildren. Great for boating from the house, cooking on the grill with a very large screened in porch for eating and conversations. Plenty to due in the area, rafting on the Saco River, Mt Washington, hiking, etc. Highly recommended,
