This vacation rental welcomes up to two dogs under 40 pounds per reservation year-round and for off-season monthly rentals.

Five TV's with extended cable (42-inch in living room, 22-inch in bedrooms; 40-inch in master bedroom), two DVD players (one in living room and one in bunkroom) and wireless internet. Enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water, park grill, one block from beach access. Create lifetime memories in this beautiful home! Fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, electric griddle and a countertop ice maker. Porcelain and luxury vinyl flooring throughout. Tall wainscoting provides an excellent accent to the colorful, beachy decor. A Pack 'n Play. Nightly rentals are available with a three-night minimum. This rental is also available for off season monthly rentals.

loved this house! had everything we wanted. Very easy check in. We have stayed in Oak Island many times, and this house was everything it said. We had 2 dogs, had a great yard and area to walk them. Also Oak Island is making people pay to park on the access roads, at his house you can walk!!!

Our Mother's Day & B'day Getaway!!

My wife and I along w our shih tzu Remie so enjoyed our stay at Kathy's Dream, Oak Island. We so loved sitting on the porch upstairs, feeling the ocean breeze w a drink and relaxing which was much needed. Remie enjoyed watching the people go by riding their bikes or walking their dogs. So cute to watch. This year was my wife's first Mother's Day w/out her Mama, who she lost this Jan 30th. Her mother loved the beach as much as my wife does so when I seen this place I knew she would love it and she did!!! We also enjoyed some of the wonderful restaurants close by, our fav was Island Way, the dinners was awesome esp the crab legs & the crab dip.(which we did takeout each night and everything was still hot when we got back) My wife and I hope to return for another weekend getaway at Kathy's Dream and the Oak Island area, not sure when that will be but hope it will be again this year. The decorations was so pretty, my wife took pics esp so she can find some like them for when we find our own place near the beach one day which we hope will be very soon! If you're looking at renting Kathy's Dream don't hesitate, it was a very nice and comfortable place so close to the beach you won't be disappointed. Everything u need is there!!

Kathy's Dream is wonderful!

The house and the neighborhood are wonderful. It was a quick jaunt to the beach where are dogs were allowed to romp off lead this time of the year. The beds were quite comfortable, the MBR shower has great water pressure, and the kitchen was very user friendly. We are planning to return.

Oak Island

We enjoyed the week with family and our furry family. Weather turned out nice and the house was one of the best we rented. We had issues with the the local foxes as they had a den in the neighbors bushes and had puppies. We gave them their due respect. They were just a little protective and that scared my family a bit. Still a nice vacay.

Generous and inviting

Kathy's Dream is a place of generous hospitality. The minute I opened up the cabinets and saw the shelves teeming with Fiestaware, I realized Kathy is a lady who invites her guests to share in the plenty. And we're lucky for the chance. If you've been renting places as long as we have, you know what to expect to some degree. You anticipate that things might not be "as pictured." Kathy's Dream is exactly what you see but even better. And having the chance to bring our furry pal and have him run on the beach (off season) made the memories we made even sweeter. Thank you, Kathy, and thank you Oak Island rentals for giving us the opportunity to recharge during this time of isolation. Isolating at Kathy's Dream is the way to go for sure!

The house was beautiful inside and out, only a short 2-3 minute walk to the ocean, and great ocean views from upstairs open loving room. Excellent option for families or friend groups, we loved that it was dog friendly, and we will certainly be staying again soon! Thanks again!

Kathy’s dream is on row 3 but it is a straight shot to the beach...very close. It is a quiet street and the ocean is viewable from all decks. The house is very nice!
