Modern Mountainside Retreat, Little Cottonwood Canyon

Welcome to the Modern Mountainside Retreat! This beautiful 2,500 sq. ft. home is perfectly situated at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in a small comfortable community. You can't get any closer to Snowbird or Alta without staying at the resort itself. You can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking and hiking with just a short drive to Little or Big Cottonwood Canyons. If playing in the outdoors isn't your thing, we're not far from downtown Salt Lake City where you can get a feel for city life and enjoy some tasty eateries.

This home has plenty of space for your large group of friends or families! It boasts two family rooms, two kitchens, two wood burning fireplaces and five bedrooms, all spread out over two floors. With bedding arrangements situated to accommodate up to 16 people, you are sure to find this house perfect for your group.

A door off of the basement family room leads to the backyard where there is a six person hot tub, perfect for after a long day of Utah adventures. The house has a two car garage and additional space in the driveway for two more cars. In addition, the house has two 50” HD TV’s in both family rooms and another 40” in the master bedroom with cable TV to fit all your movie needs with out high speed WIFI.

Rooms were spacious and clean. Was nice having more than one king size bed! Bathrooms were clean and room for everyone in our party to eat at the nice large table. We had a short stay so we didn't do any cooking but the kitchen was stocked with the basics! We had all ages joining us and for littles under the age of 7 or 8 make sure they bring something for entertainment. Incase the TVs are takin by the older kids. Nothing in the house to help with that age. The main kitchen could use some fixing underneath the cabinets near the floor. Overall a great stay!

Potentially Great, But Not There Yet

This villa has such great bones, the layout itself was great for our family. The kitchen to open dining is nice, and just a step down and you’re in an open living room with a large sectional sofa. The house has updated flooring and some new decor. However, the property is not maintained well. The backyard was a nightmare. The patio is peeling and old, a stair is loose, and overall in desperate need of being replaced. The patio also had a bees nest underneath the first step. Walking out the front door you’re greeted with some more large weeds and a wasp nest in the front porch light and and ant hill by the welcome mat. Inside there are baseboards that aren’t on, flooring incomplete, an exhaust fan downstairs that after being on for 20 minutes starts “screaming”, and paint that needs to be touched up on the stairs due to a patch job. The master shower, while beautiful, is quite small and the doors to the shower don’t perfectly close so water can escape. The kitchen has an old oven, that needs to be replaced along with almost all their pots and pans. Dangerously, they have an exposed and cracked porcelain soap dish where someone could get hurt in their upstairs bathroom. Overall, we were disappointed. The place looks nice in the photos and I expected something as nice as you get with a hotel, but with the convenience of being in a home. And this was not the case with this residence. Maybe one day it’ll get there. But it wasn’t during our stay.

Great launch pad to access Little and Big Cottonwood

Amazing value in a quiet little development. You would not notice that it's a duplex. Great access to Solitude/Brighton/Snowbird/Alta ski hills (Make sure you have 4x4 for snow days in the canyons). Great Kitchen/Livingroom area with lots of room for socializing. Wifi worked great the entire trip. Has a nice ski cottage feel. Definitely recommend

Don't stay here!

While this condo is in a great location, and the pictures are nice, don't let that deceive you. The condo is not as big as the pictures portray. We found dirty glasses, a broken refrigerator door and a half empty small hot tub that we needed to call them to re-clean after we arrived. This is clearly used only for rental purposes, and it shows. They only show you the nice bedrooms in the ad. Also the renters are NOT true to their word. There are plenty of other places to stay in this community I suggest you rent one of them.

Had a great stay at this property. The owners were very easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is newly remodeled and is very modern. It is exactly as described, in fact better than the pictures and description. The location is perfect for anyone who needs quick access to big or little cottonwood canyon. Fantastic Mountain Getaway

We had a great stay! Check in was a breeze and Sarah was awesome to work with. She was super easy going but available when we needed her. We could tell she worked hard to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The home was clean and cozy and had everything we needed, and you can’t get a better location being so close to the canyons. We had a great experience and we will definitely be coming back!
