This lovely family owned farmhouse built in 1890 can accommodate up to 6 guests comfortably. Completely furnished and beautifully decorated with original gorgeous hardwood floors. Full kitchen, W/D, Central Heat/Air.
One bedroom has 2 Full-size beds, one bedroom has 1 Full-size bed and one Queen, and the Master suite has a Queen size bed and en-suite private bathroom with separate shower & tub and a balcony that's perfect for enjoying your morning cup of coffee!
This home is perfect for guests who come to Trail Town USA to hike the trails, kayak, fish, bike or just simply walking the Virginia Creeper Trail. Enjoy the mountain views from the country porch swing. Gas grill and Fire pit available.
Although we love all fur babies, we cannot permit pets of any kind. Unfortunately, I am allergic. This is a non-smoking home.

Full disclosure of video/audio surveillance:
the property has one (1) Ring doorbell located by the side entry door to the home. This recording/monitoring device is capable of viewing/monitoring motion, picture and sound 24/7 of all vehicles and persons that enter and exit the property and to verify the guest count arriving to the property when needed. This video and audio footage is not shared publicly and is recorded and retained by the Host for liability reasons as in the case the Short Term Rental agreement is violated and/or proof is needed related to access or incident occurring on the property. Specifically, the Ring doorbell monitors entry into the side door, portion of the side porch and extends to much of the driveway/parking area. In no way does the device infringe upon Guests’ expectations of privacy during their stay and Guest do not need to expect to be monitored during their stay, but are being made aware of the camera’s presence. This will only be utilized if an issue arises or is suspected, and confirmation or clarification is needed regarding activity on the property at any time. Any attempt at disabling or obscuring the camera is prohibited and may result in Guests being asked to leave the property without refund.

Outdoors for the Holidays!

My family decided to meet at the farmhouse for the holidays. It was perfect! It had enough space and amenities (blankets, towels, and a spare inflatable bed!) for all ten of us staying and some extra! We rented bikes from Sundog Outfitters on New Year's Eve to coast down the Virginia Creeper Trail and had a great experience in Damascus. The farmhouse has so much old-world charm with modern creature comforts. We look forward to staying here again!

We had a women's retreat at "MaMaws"house and had everything we needed. Plenty of space, bedrooms and the porch was a favorite spot. One thing to remember is that this is an older home so it has some unique touches and decor that represented the grandmother and her family that owned the home. The host answered all our questions quickly. The only issue we had was working the TV and DVD players. Once we found a set of batteries we were able to get a DVD working but never got the TV to work. But, for our group it was fine because we just a had a movie to watch. We were also there to ride the trail. I highly recommend Blue Blaze Bike Rentals right up the road. Since the house was across the road it made it very easy to rent bikes and they shuttled us to the entrance at Abingdon (15 mins away) and we biked back. The house was so convenient for this purpose. Thank you Debra for a nice stay.

Farmhouse at its finest

From the porch door to the wood floors, this home boasts a genuine old farmhouse style. This house matches the small town feel of Damascus and made our trip special. We made fun memories catching fireflies and walking down by the creek. We enjoyed looking at all the knick knacks and old pictures in the house. The house was extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. The first thing we did was make popcorn in the nostalgic popcorn machine. We loved staying in this home!

Relaxing Family Getaways

We chose this property to celebrate my mother’s 70th birthday. The property was just as advertised, and upon arrival, felt like We had stepped back in time and walked into my own grandmother‘s home complete with four poster beds, homemade quilts, and doilies. It had a hominess about it that we settled into right away. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out. The front porch was so welcoming, and we spent much of our time, laughing, reminiscing and rocking there. The proximity to downtown Damascus was wonderful, and was perfect for our ride on the creeper trail. Debra was a lovely hostess, and we would recommend her home for anyone Who would truly like to unplug as streaming options were limited - it didn’t matter to us we had a lovely time

MaMaw's house did not disappoint!

Great location with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the mountains. Close to town and plenty of excursion companies as well as great proximity to multiple hiking/biking trails, fishing you name it. We loved our time here and will definitely book in the future.

The Farmhouse was perfect. The porch was amazing and perfect for coffee, breakfast and having a sandwich. Debra was very attentive, gave us a great recommendation to eat at Jacks 128 Pecan in Abingdon. Campfire and everything needed for s’mores. Perfect long weekend.

Wonderful Farmhouse

My family stayed over Christmas and this farmhouse absolutely made it special. It sits on enough open land that you have space from the neighbors, but you’re still close to town (3 mins) and the house is updated very well for modern conveniences. The owners are great communicators, checking in to make sure you have everything. They also added lots of nice touches, like a complete s’mores kit and movie style popcorn maker that my kids loved - even two monogrammed elves with my boy’s names on them! I could’ve packed a lot less, because the house is very well stocked with cooking needs, coffee stuff, toiletries, etc. I can’t type all the things we loved about the place, but we would stay there again for sure.

Farm house vacation

We really enjoyed our mini vacation at The Farm House in Damascus,Va. The proximity to the Virginia Creeper Trail, Abingdon,Va. and downtown Damascus was exactly what was promised by the owners. It was a beautifully decorated house and was spacious for three couples.The fall colors of the Appalachian Mountains were amazing.

It is a beautiful home with lots of wonderful touches throughout, fully loaded with everything you need. The large wrap around porch was one of our favorites things about the house with the fabulous view and landscape. We ate all our meals out there although there is a nice sized DR. The Virginia Creeper is very close by which was the reason for our stay. We stayed 3 nights. The owner was wonderful and attentive and made us feel welcome. We love the history of the home. I highly recommend and hope to be back!

Abingdon Vineyard tour getaway

Lovely setting in the country between Damascus and Abingdon. Great location for us as we visited Abingdon in one direction and then Mountain City, Boone, etc. in the other direction. Great outdoor space with wraparound porch! True country feeling. Loved the history of the place.

Family Weekend Getaway

We loved our stay at this Damascus property. Debra was a great host and made our check-in and check-out process very easy. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and enjoyed the side porch in the morning sun and then moved to the front porch for happy-hour in the afternoon. Just wonderful for catching up with the family. Rooms were large and the beds comfortable. All bathrooms have been remodeled and were very clean. We brought some bikes, and there was direct access onto the Virginia Creeper trail with beautiful biking towards Abington. Rivers were moving and we saw plenty of people fishing. We did some hiking on the Appalachian Trail near Whitetop Mountain and saw a stunning sunset near Buzzard Rock on Easter Day. Another highlight was the big bike ride from Whitetop station down, down, down seventeen miles to the town of Damascus. Super fun, easy, and gorgeous scenery all the way. We would definitely come back and have already recommended this home to our friends and family!

I had a very good experience and plenty of things to do at the farmhouse. Winter activities an hour away at the Seven Devils / Blowing Rock area. Large grocery store just 4 minutes away. Would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Great family retreat between the Holidays

Lovely home set in a beautiful location that more than exceeded our needs. My large family loved this quiet and peaceful getaway and the farmhouse was exactly as we had hoped. Though an older house it is full of charm and comfort. Surrounded by snow was an added bonus. Felt like coming home with this nicely decorated and well stocked place to relax. Owner was very helpful and had clear instructions to get settled in with ease. Nearby mountains and quaint town of Damascus was just the right pace to relax and enjoy our time together.

Like Going to Grandma house!

Lovely place to spend time and enjoy theCreeper Trail. House is charming with inviting porches and lovely grounds. Beds are most comfortable. Kitchen has most everything you will need for meal preparation. Our group was two sets of grandparents, our kids and their 2 children. Everyone was pleased that we chose this place to rent. We would recommend it to others!

Perfect Fall Getaway

With three adult children living in three different parts of NC and VA, planning a fall weekend away was on our bucket list in the middle of a crazy year. Despite the weather being dreary, we made amazing memories on the Creeper Trail (super close to the house), hiking at Grayson Highlands, making smores over the bonfire (firewood provided by the owners....HUGE WIN!), playing games, cooking yummy food and just enjoying one another's company. The house is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and the property is beautiful. Sitting on the front porch just listening to the crickets doesn't get any better! We made so many family memories and are incredibly thankful for Debra and her incredible hospitality that made it possible!

Absolutely perfect

My husband and I met my son and his family for a long weekend, and it was the perfect place to do that! The house is a comfortable, big farmhouse, but we played outside in the big yard, or chatted on the porch most of the time. I felt that I went back in time. We biked down the creeper trail and went right to the house. The weekend was absolutely perfect. I accidentally left something at the house and the owner found it and mailed it to me. Much appreciated!

Fantastic Rental

Our family loved this house, its history, location, and property. It is close to Damascus and the VCT, but remote enough to feel secluded. The house provides endless history lessons and interesting discoveries as well as a comfortable place to stay. I highly recommend this listing!
