About this property

Cozy Lakehome Retreat In Wooded Setting 50 Feet From The Shore Of Lake Superior

This is our smaller family cabin, which is has been decorated lodge style with its stone fireplace and sun room abutting the woods and its view of Lake Superior which is just yards away. It is a great retreat/special occasion spot which we rent to only one or two people at a time.

It has an open concept kitchen, dining, living room which lead to the sun room and large deck overlooking the woods and lake. Walk from steps of the deck down to the shore for skipping stones on the lake, a fire in the fire pit, an early morning sunrise over the lake or evening cocktails on the shoreline. Well-equipped with cooking necessities.

The is an end unit in The Lakehomes on Superior with no one above or below you. The property has nearly 1/2 mile of shoreline and walking trails on the property. There is a full service restaurant adjacent to the lake homes overlooking the lake shore.

Two Harbors is a mile away with restaurants, an expansive waterfront with hiking trails and lighthouse. There is also a nice little museum. There are 6 state parks as you continue driving north which provide wonderful hiking and beautiful views of the Lake and rivers.

There is an outdoor pool and hot tub that are open from Memorial day to Labor day. There are also 2 tennis/pickleball courts.

We found the Cozy Lakehome Retreat very comfortable, clean, well furnished, spacious for two persons, and in a tremendous location for the activities we had planned. We would certainly consider coming back and staying here if we are in the area.

Great weekend home base!

We stayed here for a weekend getaway to Two Harbors and North Shore area, and were so happy that we chose this as our home base! It is super close to Two Harbors, but was also close to our hike at Split Rock Lighthouse. We were very impressed with how clean and cozy the space was. Would definitely stay again!

Great little spot for a north shore getaway

My wife and I had a great experience in this home. It was amazing to have a view of Lake Superior from the deck, as well as sitting and dining spaces inside. They had everything we needed, check in and check out were very easy. Definitely would go back.

Wonderful place

It's a cozy solid cabin perfect for two people. I went with my little godson. He had such a wonderful time exploring in the woods and the lakeshore, although it's 27 degree outside. We loved this cabin so much, he felt sad to leave. The location is convenient, only 3 mins away from Two Harbors downtown.

'Twas a wonderful week

For 700 ft², it felt a lot larger. The sunroom, the living room (with the fireplace) never felt small. Extremely Well designed. My wife and I had privacy as well as time together. The place was extremely well supplied. Communication was wonderful. Will we return? Most assuredly!

Winter getaway

We stayed at this property during January, and it was very quiet and peaceful in the area. Some things to do in Two Harbors, restaurants and coffee shops. Cross country ski trails west of the hospital, lovely shops in the area. The beach area is very nice, and there's a fancy (and expensive) restaurant in the lodge, a ski rink with skates there. It's a very nice venue, out of town and secluded but close enough to have some things to do. The property was lovely and cozy, the kitchen had plenty of dishware and cookware, some condiments and basic supplies, fire logs etc. We will definitely go back.

What a nice quiet place to relax! Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We enjoyed this end unit condo where we could look out of the very clean sliding glass door to see both Lake Superior and woods. Comfy and cozy!

I asked specifically if there was AC MONTHS in advance. The host told me there was AC. I had booked this unit for my wedding. Fast forward, there was no AC (not broken, just not existing). He told me it was a mistake and that he’d confused it with a different property he has that does have AC. I was unable to have my “getting ready” wedding pics in the cabin because it was so uncomfortably hot and humid. I had to get ready in one of my guest’s accommodations instead. Afterwards, we agree upon a reimbursement for the mishap. I still haven’t received it. I contacted VRBO to be sure I was protected by notifying them within enough time. Apparently that was the wrong thing to do as it resulted in angry messages from the host because “I shouldn’t have involved VRBO.” I’m sad that this man tainted my wedding. I don’t deserve to be spoken to with such anger and disrespect for following the protocol. If I wasn’t expecting AC and never had to communicate with the host, I’d have left a normal review. But, I was (because I was specifically told there would be) and I did. The level of unprofessionalism in the way he speaks to his guests is upsetting. Unrelated and could be ignored given a better experience, but the living room smelled like cat urine (my husband said it was “musty” but that was what it reminded me of). My family had a much better stay in a neighboring unit. I’d stay elsewhere at Superior Shores, not with this host.
