Sportsmans Retreat in Paradise! Bayou Bungalow near New Orleans Sleeps 10

Whether you want to visit the famous French Quarter, walk the beach on the gulf coast or fish, hunt and crab to your hearts delight; this is what you've been searching for! Located in Pirates Harbor in the Rigolets off Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Borgne, we are only a 30 minute drive to visit Bourbon St or the beaches and casinos of Mississippi. From the large front deck you will enjoy the scenic views of Big Branch National Wildlife Refuge while you watch the sunrise over the marsh. The evening will present you with breathtaking sunsets from the rear deck. Launch your boat at the Rigolets Marina which is about 2 miles down the road. Dock your boat at our dock or fish and crab right from the dock. Camp Reel Estate sits on a scenic bayou that is a short 15 minute boat ride out to Lake Pontchartrain. The camp is a fully furnished 2 bedroom and 2 bath home with a large upper loft - the home sleeps a total of 10 people in beds. Our waterfront home has all the amenities of your home plus some things you might need while you enjoy your stay in our little piece of paradise. We provide a burner, boiling pot, propane grill, crab traps, fishing poles, pedal boat, kayak, plus all you will need in the kitchen to cook that pot of gumbo or fry up those fish you catch! Fish at night off of the dock lights or just relax in the bayou breeze. Of course there are also some great nearby restaurants for you to dine if the fish don't cooperate :).
Be sure to visit Olde Towne Slidell along with the quaint shops and restaurants. Check out their event calendar for their annual festivals which are sure to please. Fremaux Center is a great shopping and dining area and is only about 4 miles away. There are 4 grocery stores nearby also so don't worry if you forget to bring something!
Most importantly you will enjoy the serenity of the bayou breeze and the sound of the fish jumping, birds chirping and yeah you may see a gator or two in the wildlife reserve across the highway. We have TV and free internet but chances are those will be the last thing on your mind. We want to share our dream and little piece of paradise with you. We look forward to having you as our guests.

This was a great place for our family to stay. The cabin was very clean and nice. We enjoyed the dock and the canoes. The teens had fun fishing and crabbing! I would suggest plenty of bug spray- just goes with the territory!

We stayed at Reel Estate for three nights. The place was just as described in post. Everything we needed for our stay was there. We cooked in side and BBq'ed on the grill. We caught fish off the dock, enjoyed the paddle boat, and just R&R!

We stayed at the Paradise Bayou Bungalow for a quick Mardi Gras weekend. The property was as described, very clean and everything worked. Contact with the property manager was perfect, check-in and check-out was seemless. Our only complaint was we did not get to stay quite long enough. Sleeps a bunch so it's great for a big family or friend gathering. Surrounded by water and wildlife and a great place to experience a quiet and relaxing vacation.

What makes this property unique

The front and back decks are just amazing to view the sunrise and sunset. There is always a wonderful breeze in the long driveway which makes it great for outdoor dining and relaxing. Across the highway from the camp we have another fishing pier and don't be surprised if you spot an alligator or two!
