DOOR 42! Minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Sister Bay!

Welcome to DOOR 42! Our home is located on the north side of Sister Bay right on the main drag. You and your group are just a short 1.5 mile drive down the hill and into town. Seconds away awaits a trip to the beach, park or a meal at any of Sister Bay's fine restaurants as well as coffee and ice cream shops! Our cottage is perfect for couples and families.
The house is full of Door County character and offers plenty of space for your retreat. Feel free to message me if you are interested in finding out more!

We have provided some literature for the surrounding areas including restaurants, maps, breweries etc. Hopefully they can be of some help! One of our favorite restaurants for scenery is the Boat House, Chop, and The Wickman House. Great breakfast is served at Viking Grill, Ellison Bay or Caroll’s Restaurant here in Sister Bay.

The setting is gorgeous and the house itself was comfortable and well stocked. We enjoyed the lovely back deck for morning coffee and to unwind at the end of the day.The kitchen was well stocked and making meals in was convenient and pleasant.Location can't be beat! Very nice clean house! My husband, myself and 5 adult children all enjoyed the house very much. Had everything we needed, tons of pillows, blankets, towels, etc. Close to town but nice private location

Long family weekend in Door County

We enjoyed a great fall stay in Door County. The house location is very convenient and the house was great for our family time with our kids and grandkids. We especially enjoyed being able to have space for games that were already at the house for both out in the yard and inside.

Great get away

We found this home to be everything we hoped and more. Modern interior with plenty of room for 6 adults and 3 kids. Very cozy and lovely setting. If we come back to Door County we will try and get this home again.

Great family vacation in Door County!

Staying at Door 42 in Sister Bay for our family vacation in Door County with our adult children was a great choice! This place is also perfect for a couple's getaway, a girls' weekend or a family getaway with children. Great location. Great yard. The house was very clean and spacious. The garage is a great extra hangout space especially for earlier risers or for a rainy day. We highly recommend this place!

Highly recommend

Perfect house for a family getaway. Five adults and two kids, plenty of room for everyone. Location is great. Communication with the hosts was prompt and pleasant. So much to do. Enjoyed the evenings around the fire pit and playing games around the kitchen table. Would definitely rent this house again if we were to return to Door County

Peaceful Sister Bay Stay

We stayed here at the end of June 2023. The house is nicely located near Sister Bay, but also short driving distance to Ellison Bay. The house is very well decorated in door county theme that made you feel that you were in the heart of door county, The house is very well stocked in terms of having the basic necessities for a trip. Everything was well taken care of. The owner was very responsive when we had questions. Overall I would recommend this for anyone wanting to visit door county and be near Sister Bay and northern door county.

Feels like home

The pictures don't do justice to this property. From the moment we arrived we felt at home and very comfortable. To start, the house has very nice finishes and is well furnished as though it was intended for the owners personal use only. Second, a special congrats to the cleaners as the place was immaculate. With 2 young kids we also really appreciated all the lawn games for outdoors and board games and puzzles indoors. The property was also very well located; close to Sisters Bay but just far enough to feel quite and private. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home!

This house worked very well for our two families traveling together. We had 3 little kids and they had room to play and the house was safe and kid-friendly with plenty of space. Our kids rode bikes in the driveway and there is a fire pit. The kitchen is very well outfitted with all kinds of cooking gear. Wifi was reliable. No cable, but we didn’t mind. One bedroom we found a bit cramped and musty and discovered that the fan placed in that room was probably because there’s not great airflow, but it didn’t bother us much. The location is very close to town. We did walk to the ice cream shop and some adults did the walk into town or went for runs - however, the area is not very conducive to foot traffic, the road is narrow and hilly and people drive way too fast so if you’re taking the family into sister bay you’ll need to drive and park. We liked being super close also to Seaquist Cherries and a few other shops and restaurants in the opposite direction of town. Overall we had a great stay! Would recommend!

Fantastic location just minutes from downtown Sister Bay! There were plenty of towels and warm water for showers for our group of 8. The kitchen had all the basics. And, I really appreciated the nice clean floors! We’d love to stay again!
