About this property

The Writer's Retreat on Heartstone Country Retreat farm is an authentic one bedroom rustic, modernized log cabin dating from the early 1900s & sits on 250 acres of Shenandoah farmland. It is fully outfitted with quality bedding, bath towels, spa robes, family style toiletries, coffee, teas & a welcome gift from us - a bottle of wine. Outdoors you will find a gas grill, Adirondack chairs, picnic table/umbrella, a sweet sitting porch & a tranquil peaceful setting. Shenandoah Heaven!
Particulars: * baseboard heating... the units in the kitchen control the living room & kitchen. If you are not familiar with baseboards & how to set them, please let us know. * In order to save the small counter space we have added wire racks under the sink for pots & pans, placemats * in the same vein, we have the traditional drip style coffee pot & toaster in the back laundry room * there are no closets in this cabin though you will find hooks, hangers & robes just outside the bathroom * the coffee table is a signed art piece. Please use a coaster when putting anything on it. ENJOY!!

Post Holiday Get Away

We had a lovely stay at the “Writer’s Cabin!” It is small but so cozy and perfect for two. We had rain at first but when the skies cleared we went for a walk and explored the Chessie Trail. A lovely walk along the river. Hosts are very gracious. Easy check in and check out.

Perfect respite spot

My husband and I were attending a festival nearby and planned our stay several months in advance. We were attracted by the authenticity of the cabin and its peaceful location. Retreat is the perfect description! As life would have it, there were some bumps in our lives that shook us deeply. The cabin was the perfect place for a reset. Quite, calming, beautiful inside and out. The walk to Mt. Grace was a perfect way to put some things in perspective. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us.
