This wonderful vacation rental offers an abundance of privacy and is only 5 miles away from Whiteface Mountain Ski & Bike Center, approximately 12 miles from the Olympic Village of Lake Placid and nearby to several natural attraction, golf, great fishing sites and more! The house was very nice and clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The fireplace was wonderful and there was plenty of firewood. A few things could be improved. Some of the ceiling lights did not work and light bulbs in a few places were burned out and should have been replaced. Some of the pillows and blankets were worn and should be replaced.Overall, the house was very comfortable and our family enjoyed our time there.

House is great and located well off the road. So quiet and secluded. Saw deer everyday in the yard. There's 2 mountain views and 2 big porches to enjoy. The house is very well equipped with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and towels,etc. One downfall is that the house has an open concept, so you could hear everyone going upstairs and in bedrooms upstairs due to the floors creaking. The beds were very comfortable. We had a great time, mountain biking, hiking, and relaxing. We were close to Whiteface Mountain and visited Lake Placid too. Would definately rent this house again.

Stayed at this property for our third week long visit in past 4 years. We are a family of 7 and used all 4 bedrooms. We love the solitude and house is beautiful. Kitchen is stocked well for most purposes. Happy that all bedrooms had air conditioners as outdoor temps were in high 80s all week. The living area has only fans and the dining area cooling unit only cooled the thermostat to 80-84 in the kitchen dining areas. We loved the outdoor areas to play yard games and family time around the beautiful fire pit and adirondack chairs.

Perfect winter getaway

The house was exactly what we were hoping for. A spacious log cabin on gorgeous property. The location is ideal, just minutes from whiteface mountain and not too far from lake placid. We slept 9 easily and had plenty of space. There is a fully stocked kitchen and a fun game room. The property was great for exploring and the covered deck made our walk to the hot tub easy. Would 100 percent stay here again!

The house is absolutely gorgeous! Perfect log cabin in the mountains for a rustic vacation. Easy to get to town and other nearby attractions. Peaceful, relaxing hideaway to get a great nights sleep. Maybe even see woodland creatures come out and say hi.

Restful, peaceful, excellent location, beautiful property

We were supposed to have the full family there but unfortunately we drove, everybody else was to fly in and this was the day the internet broke. Lovely adulting time for my wife and I in this huge house. Ironman in Lake Placid was great. local sites, dinning and hiking all wonderful. I don't think I heard a voice or an engine in the 5 days we were there, just deer with our coffee each morning.

Adirondack Trip

This home was secluded but still close to everything you would need. Everyone on the trip loved the home and would certainly stay again. Everything was as advertised and I think the location was my favorite feature. The weather turned out to be perfect so we didn't need to spend a ton of time inside. When we did spend time inside, everyone was comfortable and had plenty of space. I think year-round this is a fantastic property. Thank you so much for having us!

We had a great stay, the house was a great size for our 11 people, the house definitely needs a thorough cleaning though, Lots of sand and dust throughout. If you had barefeet, you always had something on your feet, we cleaned the house on 1st day and couldn’t believe how much we swept up. The house isn’t quiet by any means. You hear every movement, conversations. Besides those things it was a wonderful stay very accommodating, and the perfect relaxing vacation we needed.

Perfect family getaway

The property was just as described. Our group of 12 had plenty of space to spread out. Arranging sleeping and bathrooms was a little tricky for 4 families, because one family used the upstairs bunk room and one of the downstairs baths. We only used about 1/2 acre of the 40+ acres, but there is a nice grassy yard which was perfect for our 4 and 7 year old to run around. The property is located within a 30-45 minute drive of multiple attractions. We were able to rent a pontoon boat for a day on Saranac lake, and hike a mountain trail up Baxter Mt, which was easy enough for our 4 yr old. Other things you should experience are driving up Whiteface, Lake Placid, Olympic attractions and of course fishing. A hidden gem that we never experienced in previous visits is the Wilmington Beach. It’s 10 minutes from this property. Be sure to check it out.

Secluded Adirondack Mountain Getaway

We loved this house! By far one of our favorite rental houses in the ADK to this date! With 4 spacious bedrooms, 4 complementing bathrooms throughout the house and EXTREMELY SPACIOUS living area, kitchen, basement and front/back decks, our two families with kids had plenty of space for the whole week to get the relaxation we needed. Not to mention the house sits on a 41 acre heavily wooded property that really makes you feel like youre in the middle of nowhere! We did some hiking/exploring of the property also which was nice. The indoor fireplace, out door bonfire pit, hot tub, spacious deck, and basement gaming tables were all a part of our daily activities when we were not out on the hiking trails through the Wilmington/Lake Placid area. The kitchen had all the ameneties needed for coffee, cooking etc… Lastly even though this house feels like youre so far from everything else, Wilmington, Lake Placid and Keene were all towns we visited with a fairly short drive. Would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a large spacious log-style cabin in a remote and secluded area of the Northern section of the Adirondacks Park!

This is a much better winter rental than a summer rental. Definitely a great property with a lot of character and privacy. Nice yard, fire pit and views. Good location for hiking and near Lake Placid. While the property did have A/C as listed, it was not functioning well, running all the window A/C (no central A/C) units on full blast and the property could never cool down. The kitchen A/C unit never worked the entire stay and made being in the kitchen/living room uncomfortable. Also the unit was not well installed allowing for insects to get inside the home. The Wi-Fi was slow with unreliable signal, especially in an area with limited cell phone reception. The listed grill is barely functional, a broken charcoal grill (with missing pieces) with no charcoal or other means to start it, causing us to have to go to the store to purchase charcoal and lighter fluid. Previous guests had placed rocks in the grill to elevate grate to allow airflow in an attempt to make functional. Having a functional grille is important for a family summer getaway. This would make for a great stay for a ski trip and could be improved for a summer stay with attention to the A/C units, Wi-Fi and grill as these are important summer amenities.

Ski Trip Getaway

Great house and property. Awesome Ski getaway spot! With that being said - unfortunately, this location is in dire need of a handy man, Understandable that this is a rental, but things need attention. Starting off - I made it very clear that I was booking this rental for the use of the hot tub. With the host knowing this was a priority, I would have thought that the hot tub would have been ready upon arrival. When going to use the hot tub night 1 - the water was 50 degrees and took 6 hours to heat up to 100 - I contacted the host to see what could be done, if any compensation was in order, and I was told the house keeper would check on the functionality after our departure(no help to us). I was also told the previous guest checked out the same day as our arrival and had no issues, unfortunately this is untrue as the settings on the hot tub was set to vacation mode so there was no heating happening. The longer we stayed and used the items available to us the more we found wrong. The ice machine is missing the lever to stop ice from being made - so ice would get under the freezer door, pour out onto the floor, and make a mess not shut.Knobs on cupboards were loose and needed tightening.The upstairs bathroom shower would have 2 inches of standing water while showering as the drain is plugged. The blinds on the sliding door are busted. No information on the wood stove. TV remotes missing/nonfunctionalStained chairs.Multiple insects found.Fun spot - needs work!
