Merlin Cottages is a cluster of 3 properties with a shared games room with panoramic views over the Brecon Beacons and Carmarthenshire. Merlin House (sleeps 6) is high standard 4 star accommodation in historic buildings of great character renovated to a high standard.

Merlin House sitting room has two sofas with an inglenook fireplace and log burner for great atmosphere. There is also a second reception room with two sofas. A long farmhouse kitchen with dining table has a half moon fireplace with former bread oven in the stonework. There is a downstairs shower room. Upstairs there is a galleried landing with great views over the Brecon Beacons National Park. There is a double ensuite, double, and two single bedrooms. Outside there is a private enclosed garden with patio , garden furniture, barbecue and large lawn.

A Very Pleasant Stay

We spent a wonderful summer in this pleasant little cottage near Llandovery. A nice place to find rural quiet on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, and a good base for exploring mid and west Wales.

Amazing location

We loved staying at this amazing property in the middle of the Brecon nowhere! The house was generally as expected with stunning views and well equipped. It might have benefitted from a couple of extra little touches like bread, milk and dishwasher tablets and the wifi really wasn’t useable, but we had a great time so no big dramas.

Very enjoyable week

We had a very enjoyable week in Wales based in the cottage. It was in quite a remote location and so we did have to drive everywhere, but we knew this in advance. However, it was big enough to comfortably fit two families of four and had plenty of kitchen equipment etc for all. The games room was a bonus. The only real downside was the wifi which was effectively non-existent (we gave up trying to use it), and the unfortunate whiff from what we assume was the septic tank. Otherwise, we were very happy with our stay.
