Condo Complex under Construction!

Windward Bay is a Complex of 7 buildings. The entire resort is undergoing serious renovations. After our third day , the Jack hammering and buzzing began at our building. The owner did NOT disclose any construction . He responded that he was unaware and to “please be patient .” The noise was great; it eclipsed any ability to have a conversation, let alone to work remotely . We sent audio and video samples to the seller . His response was that in speaking to other owners , they said the noise wasn’t “intolerable.” Seriously ! They will benefit from improvements; we were on vacation ! Furthermore, he corrected me when I said it was a “jackhammer” and correctly called it “ a hand held impact rotary hammer.” I tried to come to terms with the seller and asked for either an extension of six days (we rented for 30) , or a monetary compensation. He choose not to accommodate. I am a former VRBO owner and I know how impactful these reviews can be and truly did not want to jade the owners’ prospects for rental income. The specific unit is clean albeit with dated furniture. The mattress in the master bedroom is horrid and needs replacement. Only one person can sleep comfortably in the middle. The kitchen is very well stocked and the views of the mangroves and Bay are fantastic. The pools are nice but a distance from the unit I thoroughly recommend LongBoat Key but be careful in considering WindWard Bay condos

Windward Bay consists of 7 midrise buildings spread out over 25 acres along Sarasota Bay. Renovations are undergoing in 1 building at a time, not the entire complex, over a 2 year period. Work on the G Building where you rented started in September 2020 and was scheduled to be completed in December 2020 but some delays resulted in an extension until February 2021 when the work was completed prior to your arrival on March 15. Thus no need to advise you of it. However, the construction company advised on Friday before your arrival that some repairs were to be made after your arrival. Based on discussions with several residents of the building, the noise level was not as you made it out to be. The work moved rather quickly from one end of the building to the other with some noise around any one unit for only 2-3 days. Your scheduled stay through VRBO was for 30 days checking in on March 15 and check out on April 14. You requested to arrive 1 day earlier on March 14th and I allowed you to stay until April 17 for a total of 4 days all without charge due to the inconvenience. Your claim that I chose not to provide any compensation or cooperation is not accurate. With respect to the mattress, I certainly understand individual preferences. After your stay, we had other people stay whom all expressed their love for the mattress. Your comment about the distance to the pools is very interesting. Most people come to the Sarasota and Longboat Key areas because of the quality and reputation of the beaches. The distance to the beach from Windward Bay, and particularly your condo, is approximately 100 yards. Most interesting is your comment "be careful in considering Windward Bay condos" since you have posted a sign on the WWB community bulletin board looking to buy a condo in Windward Bay. I do appreciate you pointing out the beautiful views from Windward Bay Condos.
