On a clear day and evening you can see PEI in the distance. Arisaig, where lobster fishermen fish out of and where you can buy fresh lobster during lobster season in May and June, is only a 7-minute drive away. During the summer months there is a cafe with delicious baked goods and fresh chowder, as well as the lighthouse where you can buy an ice cream cone and take in the scenery and boats from the wharf or Arisaig beach. Nearby is Arisaig Provincial Park.
This is a very quiet neighbourhood where we are about .5 km off the main road, Highway 337. There are some cottagers nearby but as you can t see them it is easy to feel like you are the only one in the area. We are located a quick 20-minute drive from the town of Antigonish with many shops and services and STFX University.
During lobster fishing season in May and June you can watch fishermen pull in their daily catch from the comfort of the deck and throughout the summer, watch boats, kayaks and sailboats. With a large gas bbq and plenty of seating, the deck is designed for al fresco entertaining. Or maybe after a busy day of discovering all that the Sunrise Trail and surrounding area has to offer, you would prefer to sit back and relax with a glass of wine and take in the sunset this area is famous for - make it extra special and watch it from the hot tub!
You will need a car to get around. Our house is a great home base for day trips.
As we are 20 minutes from the town of Antigonish you will want to stock up on groceries, beverages and anything else you need before you arrive. Then relax!!!
The PEI ferry is approximately an hour away and in the other direction you will reach Cape Breton Island in about an hour as well.
Halifax is approximately a two-hour drive.

Beautiful home and surrounding property and the owners, Jacqui and Russell, are exceptionally nice people who clearly wanted our stay to the best it could be. And it was!I highly recommend the property with 5 stars across the board.
Our second stay at this lovely property! It is a treat to stay at this comfortable, well appointed escape. The listing is exactly what you get and the owners are so welcoming and available for any questions!
Very clean and good space. The view is amazing! We attended events at StFx so the distance was about 10 min too far but if you plan your trips it works. Communication with owner was great! Nice place and highly recommend!
I wish we were still there . The house views were beyond our expectations of the ocean and the sunsets. You can tell the owners put a lot thought into the layout to get the best views of ocean and land. To be able to sit on patio and enjoy the ocean views and watch the Blue Jays on inside TV at the same time was amazing After a day of exploring the hot tub was a perfect way to unwind and relax over looking the ocean .The kitchen is supplied with all your needs and we enjoyed BQ meals on the patio. Jacqui and Russell are extremely welcoming hostWho would have thought that at the end of a rocky road you would find such a diamond
This VRBO was the absolutely perfect setting for our 4 day stay. The ocean views were spectacular!! My daughter and her Bridal Party had the most perfect place to get ready for her wedding at STFX❤️.
We travelled 13 hours to this beautiful cottage on the seafront to spend our family vacation and we’re not disappointed! The house is kept exceptionally clean with everything you could think of or need during your stay. Very quiet area with private passage right down to the waterfront. Very short drive from Antigonish and lots of, quaint restaurants in the area. We definitely recommend this place for anyone!
The house is clean, well stocked and beautifully decorated with lots of space. All amenities were available. The hot tub was clean and enjoyable, with a view of the ocean. Large windows and patio for great ocean views. Quiet location that offered scenic drives and was central to other day trips in the area.
Wonderful house, immaculately maintained, preaceful, beautifully located right on the ocean. Access to the water, deck overlooking the ocean with a view on the sunset. Even a spa.
My mom, sister and I stayed at this beautifully appointed home. Jacqui & Russell were very friendly, went above & beyond. Beautiful home, scenic views- a wonderful stay!
Thank you Jacqui & Russell for sharing your most amazing home. It is the best stay we have ever experienced. The house was spotless which made it very inviting with all its amenities. The views are spectacular. We look forward to returning..

Our first impression was breathtaking! The view from the deck was unbelievable. We were so content to just sit, having coffee and conversation in the morning and later watching the sunset. The house was clean with plenty of amenities. The kitchen was fully stocked. We couldn’t have picked a more inviting space for our family!
We absolutely loved staying here… The views were breathtaking! The large deck is where we spent most of our time As the weather was Spectacular! This Cottage had pretty much everything you could possibly need or want. The hot tub and fire pit were thoroughly enjoyed by my family. Russell and Jacqui were super responsive and lovely. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
What a beautiful home. Breathtaking views, we could’ve easily spent the whole time there just sitting outside watching the weather change, and the TONS of stars you can see at night are something else, too! The beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you may need. Antigonish is only a 20-30 minute drive away for groceries and a range of places to eat and drink. It’s also nicely located close to many great hiking trails, and a good spot for day trips into Cape Breton. Last, but definitely not least, the hot tub with views of the ocean…I can get used to that!
This property was a piece of heaven. Very quiet, unbelievable sunsets, every amenity provided. Highly recommend this if you are looking for peace and quiet and a respite.
The owners took care to ensure that you have all you need. There is a large kitchen with pots, pans, beautiful dishes and flatware. A propane stove/oven that was a pleasure to cook on. The bathroom includes towels, shampoo and soap.
There is a hot tub and 2 kayaks.
The owners were very pleasant and easy to contact.
The town is approximately 20 minutes away if you should need anything and includes a large grocery store.
We took many beautiful photos as the view from the house is stunning.
Just know that the road to the house and the driveway are gravel and rather steep. This was a bit of challenge for us city folk and our rental car. But this did not prevent us from having a wonderful vacation.
If you thinking of visiting nova scotia this is the perfect home .
