Hatteras HeavenĀ® is a deluxe, oceanfront, first floor condo, with wonderful direct ocean views from its private deck, operated by OBXOceanFrontVacations.

Located in Rodanthe, NC, on the Outer Banks, in the Hatteras High Condominiums.

Wonderful ocean vistas from the kitchen/living room, master bedroom, or the private covered outdoor rear deck . The Kitchen was completely remodeled in 2018 with all new cabinets and a lovely granite counter. Well-supplied Kitchen with Microwave, Ice Maker, Coffee Maker, Coffee Grinder, Blender, all the comforts of home. 50" Plasma TV in living room with lots of DVDs, plus a reading library for literary lovers, TVs in both bedrooms, and Nintendo 64 with video games for the kids. New Sofas (2021) in the Great Room. The Master Bedroom has a new (2018) Casper King adjustable bed. The second bedroom has a Queen Bed with a single bed trundle underneath. Both bathrooms have been remodeled in the past few years. The pool is just in front of this unit, making it easy to watch the children and family. On a private drive, but located near shopping, eateries and the fishing pier. It offers all the amenities wanted in a holiday unit. A full kitchen, an open dining/living room, a washer and dryer, Pack n Play, Internet, and all the other comforts of home! The private covered rear deck has Adirondack high chairs, offering a great spot to relax and watch the waves. Other niceties include outdoor showers, picnic tables, charcoal grilles, fish cleaning station, walkway over the dunes to a pretty beach. There is even a nature trail and pond!

This unit is the only unit in Hatteras High with its own private washer and dryer. There is no elevator in Hatteras High, so this first floor unit means you only walk up the single flight of stairs to the first level. We do have a luggage lift to bring all your stuff up. There are also 4 free washers and dryers in the ground level common laundry room.

The Master Bedroom has a new, Casper Adjustable Split King bed, installed late 2018. This incredibly comfortable bed was top rated by Consumer Reports and offers full head and foot adjustability on each side. You can use a single King size bottom sheet or two twin XL bottom sheets. The Front Bedroom has a Queen Size Bed, firm plush, new in 2016, with a twin trundle bed underneath.

Free Hi Speed WI-FI ! This has been upgraded to high speed cable modems in 2023.

Our Roku TV boxes give free access to a wide selection of Spectrum Cable Channels, and also allows you to login to your own personal streaming TV providers, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Paramount, Disney, etc.

Coffee? Is that an important part of your morning? We provide a K-Cup coffee maker, A Nespresso Expresso/Coffee maker, A French Press, and a regular Mr. Coffee machine, along with a bean grinder. No matter how you like your coffee, we have the right machine for it. Please be sure to bring your cup or blend of choice.

Rodanthe is surrounded by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. It is considered by many to be a premier vacation destination with its incredible recreational options. Known for its Fishing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, Surfing, Surf-Fishing or Deep-Sea fishing, it also offers one of the quieter beach destinations, as Rodanthe is a much smaller town than the area around the northern beaches. The beach is just a short walk away down a private boardwalk.

There is a boardwalk to the pool and over the dune to the beach. We are within walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Rodanthe Pier. Send us an email and let us know the dates that interest you.

Our cleaning service has significantly upped their game in response to the currrent crisis. In addition, we have added a UV light disinfection system to our HVAC unit to kill airborn covid-19 or other viruses and bacteria. Additional cleaning and disinfection wiping of all high contact surfaces, such as countertops, knobs, sinks, and other areas is being done. Unfortunately, as a result, we have been required to move our check in time to 6PM. A notice will be placed on the door when the cleaning is complete, and if so, you may enter as soon as 3PM.

POOL - For 2024, the pool will be open from May 25 through October 4. Please do not take any glass containers to the pool. There is no lifeguard. Please watch your children closely.

LINENS and TOWELS: Please note that linens (sheets and towels) are NOT provided with this rental. We do provide blankets, pillows, and comforters. There is one king bed, one queen bed, and the trundle is a twin, if you bring your own. Otherwise, These may be rented from our housekeeping service, Hatteras Helping Hands. Do a web search to find their number.

RENTAL POLICY: From mid-May through mid-September we rent Saturday to Saturday only. Other than that, there is a 3 night minimum for the remainder of the year. If the booking system will let you book a stay, it is available. Our Condominium Bylaws do not allow Dogs and we do not allow any other pets. Minimum Primary Renter Age is 23.

ID and RENTAL AGREEMENT: We require that you e-sign our rental agreement and also that you provide a clear and legible copy of your drivers license or government issued picture ID with your current address. Failure to provide this within 48 hours of your reservation may be considered as your cancellation of your reservation and possible loss of your payment, based on our refund policy.

REFUND POLICY: We know that things can happen. You can purchase trip insurance that provides reimbursement if you can't make your trip. Our refund policy is 97% if cancellation is received before 60 days out, and 50% if received more than 30-59 days out. The 97% is because the credit card company does not refund the credit card fee. It is not uncommon to have a mandatory evacuation from the coastal areas during Hurricane Season and it seems to happen at least once every few years. You will not receive any reimbursement unless you have purchased travel insurance, which is available during initial booking. In the event of a hurricane, please bring the outdoor furniture into the living room, close and lock all doors and windows, then depart ASAP. If you will need housing, call and make reservations at another hotel out of the evacuation area immediately, before or while leaving, because all regional hotels fill rapidly during evacuations. Under no circumstances may you stay in the unit during a mandatory evacuation.

Wonderful place to stay!
We got together with friends for a quick getaway. Hatteras Heaven was an amazing choice and we would stay there again anytime! The dolphin show was one of our favorite highlights and you can't beat the sunrise!

Winter Break
We spent a few days here as a winter getaway. The property was bright, clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. We especially enjoyed the deck looking out over the ocean. We spent much time there watching the dolphins and listening to the waves. It was the perfect place to spend some time away.

It was everything we dreamed it would be! Charlie was very responsive to any questions I had before the visit and included a very detailed handbook (online) about pretty much everything. We were blessed to see daily sunsets and sunrises which was a bonus.

We reside in Charlottesville, VA. Ginny is a retired Cardiac Intensive Care Nurse. Charlie has been in real estate (and is still a broker in Virginia), worked as a professional pilot, and worked in corporate purchasing. Together, they now operate laundromats and rental properties in Charlottesville. Charlie also volunteers as a paramedic with the local Rescue Squad and also as a Ski Patroller at Wintergreen Ski Resort. When not working, we like to travel in our RV. Since 2017, we have spent two months every summer volunteering at Yellowstone National Park. We operate two units at Hatteras High, under the name of OBXOceanFrontVacations, as well as rent a few of our timeshare weeks there.

Why they chose this property

We have both been coming to the Outer Banks since we were small children. Back then, there was a ferry across the Oregon Inlet, then steel mats to drive on to get to Hatteras. Hatteras High caught our eye in the late 90's and we started staying here. In 2003, we had the chance to buy this unit and we jumped on it. We particularly like Hatteras Island and Rodanthe because it is much lower key than the Nag's Head area and the northern beaches. Far less traffic, far fewer people. It can still get busy in the summer, but nothing like the northern beaches. Quieter, more relaxed, great beaches, good surf fishing, gorgeous sunsets. That keeps us coming to Rodanthe.

What makes this property unique

We have vacationed all over the Outer Banks. Rodanthe is simply lower key than all of the northern beaches. Far less traffic, Far fewer People. Corolla is beautiful, but getting there can be a nightmare. Nags Head and Manteo are a 20-25 minute drive away if you want to go there for shopping, and Avon is only another 15 miles south. Cape Hatteras and the ferry to Ocracoke are just about an hour further south.
