In the green setting of an old troglodyte farm in tufa, our cottage, carefully furnished, allows you to spend a relaxing stay. A wide range of activities on site or nearby is offered. Located between Angers and Saumur, on the edge of a national forest, our hamlet is 6 km from the Loire where the village of Gennes offers all amenities. With its adjoining private parking, a sun terrace with open views, the single-storey gite has all the essential amenities for people with reduced mobility. The owners, on site, will be at your disposal to guide you in the discovery of the region.

Very friendly owners, very well equipped and lovely setting. Ideal position to be able to go for visits to places in any direction. Well stocked Super U supermarket on the edge of Gennes about 3 km away.

A lovely quiet place to stay a little gem

This cottage was lovely is was perfectly big enough for the two of us and had all the equipment and facilties we required. The host we wonderful and extremely helpful. We were given fresh vegetables from Marie Elizabeth's Garden which were delicious. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this little gem of a gite and will definitely come back.

Peaceful Stay at Avort

What a gorgeous property! We couldn't have asked for a better location. It's a rural setting with beautiful landscaping, but close enough to amenities plus the interesting sites of the Loire Valley. The home itself is comfortable, renovated and has all of the amenities. The hostess, Marie, is so friendly and welcoming! All in all, it was a wonderful two weeks!

De woning is compleet ingericht en biedt voldoende privacy. De ligging in het heuvelende landschap van Anjou in de nabijheid van de Loire nodigt uit tot het maken van fietstochten. De eigenaren zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Perfecte Gite voor een verblijf aan de Loire. Centrale ligging voor tal van bezienswaardigheden. Volledig ingericht, alles voorhanden wat je nodig hebt. A really excellent week at a unique Gite

This property delivers exactly what one would expect from the description; convenient location close to Gennes where you will find a well-stocked supermarket and a selection of independent shops, and within easy travelling distance to Angers and Saumur. This Gite is very well presented and has everything one needs for an enjoyable week (or two – it was tempting!) - including a stunning garden that makes dining al-fresco a delight. Owners are very friendly and fortunately for us they speak good English. All in all, highly recommended.

A Beautiful Oasis of Tranquility

A beautiful and comfortable Gite with all necessary equipment , set in a magnificent garden tended by Marie every day. We were given all the information on the house and the area on arrival and our hosts could not have been more helpful and friendly even to a constant supply of tomatoes from the garden. We are not disabled but the facilities are perfect and wisely designed for a disabled person having had experience of converting or trying to convert a house for a cousin, this is A1

Perfect gite for anyone with mobility problems - beautiful area

Our hosts made us really welcome and were very helpful giving us advise about the local area, good restaurants and places to visit. The kitchen is well equipped and the gite is very comfortable and perfect for anyone with mobility problems. There is plenty of space in the bathroom for a wheelchair user with a fully accessible shower. The view from the terrace is of a lovely large garden and pretty countryside beyond. We barbecued and enjoyed produce from the garden. Gennes and Rosier sur Loire are both pretty places where you can shop, visit and eat. Saumur is a lively town to visit with plenty going on just a few miles away. There are also many wine tasting opportunities in the area. We had a really great stay, so a big 'thank you' to Marie Elizabeth and her husband. We would like to return.

Super séjour dans un cadre très agréable

Nous avons été reçu par un couple charmant, dans un lieu très beau et bien entretenu. Le logement est agréable, bien agencé avec goût. Dormir sur un lit confortable, dans une chambre rafraîchie par l'air venant des sorties des troglodytes situées dans le coteau un vrai plaisir. Prendre son petit-déjeuné sur la terrasse, avec un jardin en fleur en paysage, ce n'est pas le paradis mais on y approche. Pour les commodités très terre-à-terre, la ville de GENNES est à proximité juste un coup d'accélérateur où on trouve tout le nécessaire. Freundlicher und zurückhaltender Vermieter. Unsere Wünsche wurden alle berücksichtigt. Die Einrichtung ist modern und angenehm. Es ist eine kleine Unterkunft aber für 2 Personen sehr ausreichend. Besonders haben wir es genossen, draußen zu sitzen und über die Landschaft zu blicken.

A delightful gite very nicely situated in the countryside.

This gite has been newly done up and is very well equipped with quality appliances, including being designed for handicapped use, and very easy to live in. It's on the left hand side of the large house and has plenty of natural light, the troglodite references are to the interesting caves behind the property. The location is very rural with two or three other houses in the vicinity, and is very quiet and peaceful. The views to the front are of open countryside with woods in the distance and at night offer a fabulous expanse of starry skies. The owner is very helpful but also discreet. This is an excellent location to base oneself in, being midway between Angers and Saumur and less than 10 minutes from the river and a decent sized supermarket. Thoroughly recommended.
