About this property

Next to the Douro river, near the beach and the historic centers.

Near the historic center of Porto and the Port Wine Cellars, in a quiet fishing village, near the river, the sea and the beaches. One can enjoy nature and tourism while being close to Porto's main tourist and historical sites.

The house was built around 1930 and was renovated in 2013. It is a typical house in a location with a privileged view over the right bank of the Douro river and the city of Porto. Located in Afurada, a small fishing village in Vila Nova de Gaia, within walking distance of Porto's Historic Center and Porto Wine Cellars.

A short distance from Douro Marina and near the Douro Estuary Nature Reserve, located on the south bank of the river. The reserve is the place for the shelter and nesting of many birds. A perfect place for bird watchers and nature photographers. There are many restaurants, small supermarkets and bakeries in the area.

Ground floor (38 m2): Kitchen, Dining room, WC with bath and shower and storage.
Upper floor (38 m2): 2 bedrooms and living room with sofa bed.

The house is equipped with: microwave, toaster, kettle, blender, fridge, kitchenware, iron, bed linen and towels, vacuum cleaner and heaters.

Familiy vacation

The location was great with lots of resturants near by. There are steps that seperate bathroom and livving area if you are teaveling with older guests it may be issue. The host is amazing.

Fishing village

We had a wonderful stay and everything was just as advertised. Very unique property and it was nice being in a local fishing village. Easy access to Porto, good restaurant and markets close by….would recommend a stay here for all!

Authentic fisherman's cottage

We particularly enjoyed staying out of the city in a relatively peaceful setting. Local, fresh fish restaurants were plentiful and reasonably priced and all in easy access. City centre is easily accessible either a picturesque walk by the river or by Uber which was cheaper for us than public transport. There were 2 shops and a bakery on the door step. It was a perfect sized place for our family of 4. It would be too small for any more in my opinion. Overall an enjoyable stay and hopefully we experienced a little bit of 'old style Portuguese life'.

Very pleasant stay

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in this property. The description is accurate. Owners Maria and Jorge are very hospitable and kind and provided great welcome and ideas of activities and sites to see. We just stayed at 6 different properties in the last month and this was among the best. House is authentic home in a fishing neighborhood among real people. Not other tourists. Nicely decorated and equipped for the price. Parking was not a problem and getting to Porto easy. Several seafood restaurants in walking distance. Nice trail along waterfront to walk, run bike. We came beginning of Oct and temps were still warm so no heat or ac needed.

Très jolie région. Par contre nous regrettons que les horaires des bus avec plans ne soient pas affichés car nous avons perdu beaucoup de temps à attendre le bon bus.

We did not stay. The house smelt like insect repellant. We found a dead cockroach on the kitchen floor. After moving the fridge, we saw larvae. We left and I wanted a refund. The host did not send the full refund. Very disappointed!

Loin du brouhaha urbain

Une erreur au sujet de l'annonce, une bonne heure est nécessaire pour se rendre au centre à pied. D'autre part des draps houses seraient préférables pour le confort ( on se retrouve très vite directement sur l'alèse au fur et à mesure des mouvements ). Pour le reste, nickel et des hôtes réactifs et bienveillants.

perfekter Standort

Die Wohnung hat eine perfekte Lage. Man ist zu Fuß in ca. 40 Minuten bei den Portweinkellern und der Brücke nach Porto. Immer entlang des Flusses. Supermarkt und Restaurants in direkter Nachbarschaft. Auch die Einheimischen gehen dort hin. Die Wohnung erstreckt sich über 2 Etagen. Wobei wir unsere Koffer unten im Esszimmmer gelassen haben. Sie waren zu schwer für die steile Treppe. Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin war sehr nett. Also alles wunderbar.

Nice place, convenient parking, breakfast close by

The keys took us a bit to figure out but once we had it sorted it was fine. The bedrooms are quite tiny, so no room for luggage but we managed fine. Great little cafe at the end of the block where we enjoyed breakfast. Easy parking close by. Would book again!

Family stay in Porto

Great location, easy walk along the river to Porto (45mins), bakery on the corner was great and would make ham and cheese rolls to take with you (very cheap). The house is good, has everything you need (no oven, dishwasher or washing machine as stated). Very quiet neighbourhood, friendly people around and some good fish restaurants - highly recommend the one opposite bakery, had queues of customers every evening so go early

Porto Portugal

Die Unterkunft ist gut gelegen und sauber. Jedoch gab es bei uns Probleme. FeWo hat die Daten Zum Bett nicht korrekt übertragen. Es war nicht ersochtlich das es sich um 2 kleine Betten mit unter 1,40 Meter handelt und die Länge nur 1,85 Meter ist. Das war für 5 Personen echt zu wenig und die Schlafcouch war nicht gerade sehr gemütlich. Daher haben wir einen Stern abgezogen. Die Inhaber der Immobilie sind aber sehr freundlich und nett. Wir konnten dort nur 1 von 4 nächten verbringen. Wir haben 2 Nächter ertstattet bekommen, an der 3. Nacht sind wir noch dran und lassen das nicht so stehen.
