Charm of a family property in the green of the Ambazac mountains
In the heart of the Ambazac mountains, the house built in the 18th century is located in the center of the village, next to a 13th century church and opens onto a 2000 m2 garden enclosed by walls with a heated and secure swimming pool (shutter electric and access grid). The house offers an ideal setting for a peaceful or more festive holiday, with family or friends. For sports enthusiasts, the Ambazac mountains offer hiking and mountain biking circuits. Saint Sylvestre is located 5 km from Lake Saint Pardoux offering water activities (sailing, water skiing, ...), a tree climbing course, organized beaches, an aquatic complex. You can also take advantage of the equestrian center located 2km away or opt for a golf course. On the cultural level, your stay will be an opportunity to take advantage of the know-how of the region: porcelain, glove making, Aubusson tapestry. Your walks will take you to Limoges (20min by the A20), Saint Léonard de Noblat, Oradour Sur Glane, ... and why not as far as Dordogne or Périgord. In terms of gastronomy, the Limousin is renowned for its excellent beef, as well as its chestnuts and apples.

Charming gite in peaceful location with fabulous pool. Well equipped to make for a very comfortable self-catered visit with the family. Nearby Ambazac offered several supermarket options and the nearby Lac du Saint Pardoux provided some beautiful beaches and water to swim in on hot days. Definitely recommend!

This gite ticks all the boxes for us - a large enclosed garden for the dog, and for ball games; a great swimming pool; access to tennis courts; a beautiful village setting and a wonderful house. Plus only 6km from an activity lake for the kids. Fantastic.

We are very pleased that you have enjoyed your stay in Saint Sylvestre. Our goal is always to give our holidaymakers entire satisfaction.
Hope to see you again in our house !
We had a good week here, although the weather wasn't great the heated pool kept warm throughout. lots of space in the house and garden, plenty of history in the building.
Great communication with the Host, would stay again.
We have stayed here multiple times. The house is a lovely mix of old and new and the garden is perfect for a peaceful stay. The swimming pool is beautiful and the garden is large and secure....great for our dogs.
The owner is very helpful and accommodating and we have never had any problems when staying here. Thank you Madame Dodinet. xx

Wonderful stay. The owner was charming and easy to communicate with. The outside area of the house in particular is the nicest we’ve stayed in. Very private. Plenty of room in the house. Some parts are very old and un renovated but it didn’t detract from the overall experience. Very quiet, nice walks from the doorstep and a pizza van came one night. Otherwise you do have a 10 min drive for bread, shops etc. Would recommend!!

This is a very old and characterful house with new modern facilities (bathroom, kitchen, toilet) situated in a beautiful and quiet village/hamlet. The garden is massive but fully enclosed so perfect for dogs and children and the swimming pool is gorgeous.
The owner is very charming and welcoming but otherwise perfectly unobtrusive - she speaks very good English and there were no communication problems for us.
Thoroughly recommended for any English visitors to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine/Limousin region.

Family Holiday
Martine the host was there to greet us on arrival and this was late at night. The property is as advertised and is what you would expect from a house this age. The pool was great being heated. Total privacy around us. Martine also supplied some food and drink on arrival as it was so late which was a lovely thought. Only downside for us was that the village has no shops so any provisions you need to travel 4km where there is a very good supermarket.
A fabulous 3 week stay in this beautiful property with incredible outdoor space
We enjoyed an amazing holiday with family at this fabulous property situated in the very peaceful town of Saint-Sylvestre. The property benefits from being on a incredible plot of land and perfectly located next to village sports courts such as tennis, small football pitch and playground which meant it was perfect for our two lively boys. The garden is huge and the heated pool is very inviting and they is cooler shaded space outside to enjoy some time out of the sun. The house is well equipped and oozes rustic French charm with a modern bathroom and kitchen. We were looked after by the host who regularly checked in with us via message. Highly recommend this property especially for families given the plentiful outdoor space and facilities. Thank you Martine

Dear Holidaymakers,
We do our utmost to satisfy our holidaymakers in this family house; it is actually old but that is what makes it its charm.
For the faulty shower, a plumber came in but you did not let him in.
As for the cot, the house was equipped with a high chair and a cot. At no time did you tell us about the presence of twins. However, we made every effort to meet your expectations and you were delivered very quickly from a high chair and a cot.
We also adapted to your late and very early hours that you had not reported.
If we had been able to communicate with you over the phone, as we usually do with our vacationers, we probably could have avoided these misunderstandings. The entire team that manages this rental is genuinely sorry that these logistical problems have generated discontent. We hope you will return to our pleasant region.
Chers vacanciers,
Good - but minor improvements will help to reach 5 stars
The property is very nice, beautiful surroundings. Outside very well maintained including the pool. You have privacy and to be honest, the photographs we saw in the advertisement don’t do it justice: it’s better.
Inside is a bit different. First of all is that it wasn’t clear that some bedrooms where adjacent, you could only reach one by walking thru the other. The top floor bedroom was with a very low ceiling and not attractive to our girls. We have four girls, teenagers and we wanted individual rooms for them. That was not possible, they ended up sharing.
The master bedroom was fine, but the door didn’t close easily and certainly didn’t give privacy. Part of old French charm maybe? It had a separate bathroom of which the door was impossible to close. Very annoying. A good carpenter can have both doors fixed in a mornings work.
There is a separate toilet and separate shower that the girls used. Modern, nice but no shower curtain! The floor was constantly soaked with water.
Downstairs was nice, nice layout. A lot of kitchen utensils, some however weird. Five frying and cooking pans with no handle to hold them?? Enough other stuff to prepare good meals.
One final minor point was hygiene. The kitchen and specifically the fridge where really dirty. Fridge als has a door that doesn’t shut, so it is covered in water and ice crystals. Also many spider webs in corners… needs a proper cleaning. Nonetheless we had a good stay, in spite of six days of rain.
Recommend!

The third time we have stayed here and still just as good as the first time.
Charming old house but with modern kitchen and bathroom facilities, beautiful secure garden, outside eating area and superb swimming pool.
Set in a really quiet village only a 5 minute drive from the local town with all facilities.
Handover process is always smooth and easy and we will recommend this as a great place to stay. Hopefully we will return soon, thanks
