About this property
Stone house in the forest – Pool & quiet
A spacious, comfortable, and independent house nestled in the heart of the Lot, on the edge of a forest. The place is simple and beautiful, without ostentation: a large swimming pool lined with cypress trees, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a generous through-lounge, and an open-plan, fully equipped kitchen.
The house can accommodate up to 10 guests, but it is ideal for 6 to 8 – everyone has their own space. The materials are raw and warm. The decor is understated, and the volumes are generous. Thick walls and the wooded surroundings keep the house naturally cool, even in summer – there is no air conditioning, by choice.
This is a place designed for quiet stays: families, friends, people who enjoy cooking, reading, swimming, walking. Long summer meals on the terrace, sunbathing by the pool, naps in the shade, and silence all around.
We do not rent the house for events or weddings. No parties or loud evenings – respecting the spirit of the place is part of the experience.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Violette's house. In a stunning region, just a short drive from many charming villages with delightful markets and local produce, the house is ideally secluded from the hustle and bustle. It's a true oasis where we had a wonderful time with our two children and a couple of friends. The house is a gem, full of charm and character, which, in our opinion, sets it apart from other rentals in the area. The hosts are lovely and welcoming.
Gorgeous location and setting for an extended family stay with secluded areas to relax and enjoy the fresh air. Multiple sleeping locations offered time together while also having privacy. Plenty of wildlife (some joining us in the house for night action) and required some cleaning/tidying in the mornings, but was a trade worth making for the location! Wonderful hosts happy to help with everything. Great local recommendations and network which helped us feel at home. Had help (all in French) on site when needed and Google translate worked a treat to get those things sorted. House was a home, so kitchen was really well equipped and fabulous fun to be able to cook proper meals while chilling out. The region is beautiful and we loved Les Beau Villages and local markets that had delicious produce - such a highlight of the Dordogne. Would highly recommend this woodland retreat!
