About this property

Great B&B, no cleaning fee, Crow s Nest, peaceful atmosphere

Amazing ocean/sunset view, secluded and quiet but very close to restaurants, supermarket, fantastic snorkeling, hiking, historical sites. King bed, private bath, fridge, free wifi.

The Beautiful Edge of the World BnB, Kona has been in operation since 2002. We have enjoyed the experience enormously. Unlike many, our BnB is completely legal and has been since we opened. (TA-153-965-7728-01)

The Crow s Nest is on the second floor of the house and has a spectacular view of Kealakekua Bay and the Pacific Ocean. It has a private lanai, individual satellite TV, DVD, phone, private bath, refrigerator, wall to wall carpet, in-room safe, and king size bed. It is our most popular room and a favorite of honeymooners, artists and poets and other cool people. It is $139 plus tax per night for two guests. This room may have the best view in Hawaii! No cleaning fees !

Price includes a wonderful breakfast with the host s home grown Kona coffee. We are located on a five acre working farm, surrounded by macadamia nut, coffee, papaya, avocado, and mango trees. If you re a coffee drinker, you ll be served my own 100% pure, organic Kona coffee every morning.(Don t mean to brag about our coffee, but many folks have told us it s the best they ve ever tasted. We wholesale to our guests, any quantity.) If you would like to try my own noni tea, just let me know. We also grow organic bananas, pineapple, guava, papaya, sour sop, Surinam cherries, atamoya, cheromoya, oranges, limes, sapodilla, and passion fruit, some of which you will be served with breakfast, depending on the fruits in season. There are also abundant beautiful flowers scattered here and there.

We offer free laundry service for guests who stay three days or more. We have complimentary hair dryers, beach towels and mats, limited snorkel equipment, and ice chests for our guests. Guests are welcome to use my computer for a quick check of their e-mail. We now have free WIFI throughout the house.

When there are more than two guests in this room we put out a Japaneses style futon or couch sofa as you like.

Spectacular view, authentic island experience and great hosts
The Weigelt's made us feel like family during our stay. Delicious breakfast and great coffee were the perfect start to every day and sunset from the Crow's Next was the perfect end to the day. The expansive views from all of the lanais are remarkable. The room was very comfortable and Kurt's recommendations for activities were spot on. We enjoyed exploring the farm and seeing the trees where our tropical breakfast fruit and coffee were grown. If you want to escape the resort scene and enjoy the local experience, I strongly recommend the Beautiful Edge.

Peaceful Home away from Home
Kurt’s property is a fantastic place to unwind. You are surrounded by macadamia nut trees, coffee and a variety of fruits and plants. It has a beautiful view of Captain Cook Bay and is tucked away from the busy traffic so it’s very peaceful and quiet. It is well worth the drive through a narrow roadway to get to the house. Enjoyed stepping out on the deck at night to look at the stars and lights from a distance. He has coolers and other beach gear for you to use so you don’t have to worry about packing these things. Kurt and Kanae made us feel welcome and gave lots of tips on things do see and do. Wish we planned our stay longer because there was so much to do in the area. They also provided a delicious breakfast to start the day. Enjoyed the fresh fruit and his very own coffee. Thank you for opening up your home to us.

Former jet pilot, former processor, writer, now coffee farmer and innkeeper. My wife is Japanese. Our daughter is an accomplished hula dancer who loves to teach the dance to our guests.

Why they chose this property

As a pilot I few to all the Hawaiian Islands and traveled extensively on each. This particular spot was far and away my favorite. Amazing views, secluded but close to attractions and restaurants. All I needed was money to get it.
