Scenic North Hideaway- Northern Michigan Escape

No matter the season, you'll always enjoy your stay at The Scenic North Hideaway! Winter activities include: downhill skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and fat tire biking. Return in the summer for a family vacation filled with outdoor activities including: mountain biking, fat tire biking, golfing, kayaking, canoeing, Lake Michigan beaches, pristine inland lakes, and cozy towns with amazing restaurants and shopping.

Our home, located just three minutes from Crystal Mountain Resort - continuously rated a top ten resort in the Mid-West. Our Scenic North Hideaway offers four bedrooms, three full baths, two separate living areas and provides your family with everything you need for a perfect get away to Northern Michigan and the Crystal Mountain area.

When you arrive at the Hideaway, the open floor plan on the main level welcomes you into the kitchen, dining and living areas. The living room has a large sectional couch and plenty of blankets to cuddle up for movie night in front of a 55 inch Smart TV featuring all the popular streaming services (remember to bring your log in info). The TV also has YouTube TV and we provide free unlimited WIFI!

The fully outfitted kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops has everything you will need to prepare family meals. The inside dining area has a large table with seating for eight plus the kitchen island has additional seating for three. Or spend your evening on the back deck using the brand new grill and roasting s’mores over the fire pit.

All of our bedrooms feature memory foam mattresses and pillows, as well as spacious closets. The main floor master bedroom features a king bed and en suite bath. After a long day of outdoor activities you will be excited to head home for a refreshing shower. Our beautifully tiled shower features two shower heads including a luscious rainfall showerhead. There's plenty of room for two, so turn up the heat and relax while running both! Soap, shampoo, conditioner and fresh towels are provided. On the other end of the main floor are two more bedrooms with a full bath in between. One bedroom features two extra long twin beds and other has a twin over full bunk bed.

Now, head downstairs to the second large family room with another cozy sectional couch that includes a full size pull out bed. The TV here is just like the one upstairs and has the exact same features. You can also test your skills on our foosball table or make it a family game night by choosing from one of our many family friendly games. Down the hall is another full bath and an extra large bedroom with another king size bed. This room has plenty of space for a porta crib or two! We also offer use of our brand new, commercial size washer and dryer, detergent provided.

Last but certainly not least, we provide full access to the attached, insulated three-car garage. In the garage, you will find yard games for outdoor family fun.

When you’re ready to venture away from the Scenic North Hideaway, explore Traverse City, Frankford, Beulah, Manistee, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, numerous wineries, scenic drives, boating and a variety of Lake Michigan beaches. These amenities are all within 45 minutes of your home base!

Snowboarding Trip

We had a great stay here. The place is pretty new and really clean. Lots of space and a nice big garage to store your boards or skis. The only drawback was water pressure in showers was a little weird but that’s not something to be helped and we could have used a few more towels. The property manager is very communicative and fast to respond.

Great house for extended family

We had five adults and two children and were very comfortable. The open concept living area was great and there was another family room in the basement for when the kids got rowdy. Everything was new and very clean and well stocked. The shuttle to the ski hill was easy. It was a great house for our family ski weekend.

The Perfect Location

Our family of 4 had a terrific stay at the Scenic North Hideaway! There was plenty of space for the 4 of us and the location of the home was perfect. We made frequent stops at Crystal Mountain resort which is just a few minutes away. Frankfort is only 20-25 minutes away but we really enjoyed the drive. There is so much to do in this area, but it also offers the feeling of privacy and seclusion. We hope to be back!

This was a great house. The location was close to Crystal ski resort, quiet neighborhood and lots of space in the house. The house was very clean, kitchen well stocked with plenty of room for our food in the pantry. There was not an uncomfortable bed in the house. We would stay here again !!

Beautiful peaceful getaway!

Ginny was the perfect host. She was quick in responding and so helpful. The property was beautiful and welcoming. We enjoyed making dinner together in the large kitchen and sitting on the deck in the evening. The property is in a quiet neighborhood but also close enough to explore all the attractions. We loved finding fresh produce from local farms and feel in love with St. Ambrose winery. Relaxing place to end your day of exploring. My family and I can’t wait to book again next year!

Ginny IS a super-host. She was communicative, pleasant, thorough and timely on her responses to our multiple questions. The home was a perfect layout for three families to stay. The parents of two young families and their children. We enjoyed the fire pit, grill and outdoor seating as much as the large gathering, comfortable gathering space indoors. Still we had plenty of privacy.

Nice home in a good location

New home in a new neighborhood. Nice deck, grill, and firepit outside. Would be nice to have televisions in the bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms did not have dressers or tables, so you had to have your suitcases and stuff on the floor. It's noisy in the basement bedroom. It's a great bedroom, but you hear anyone walking or talking upstairs. It wasn't a big deal for us, since our group was all older adults, but could be loud for groups with kids. Overall it's a great property and we enjoyed our stay!
