Merlin cottage, at the Old Bakery gites, is a fully renovated well appointed traditional Breton stone gite with heated swimming pool for up to 7 people, located in the heart of Brittany in the village of Gomene Cotes-D'Armor.The house dates from 1790 and has been tastefully modernised whilst retaining its traditional charm with exposed beams and character stone walls.It offers spacious high quality accommodation in a tranquil countryside position , set in over an acre of stunning gardens and surrounded by fields and woodland. The accomodation is on two floors and consists of a downstairs large open plan kitchen living and dining area from where you take a spiral stair case to the landing giving access to three large comfortable bedrooms with large spacious shower room & WC. The master bedroom, with 4-poster double bed, has views over the courtyard and gardens the second bedroom has a double bed and great views over fields and the woodlands beyond.The third bedroom has a single bed and set of single bunks ( three single beds in all) and also overlooks the courtyard and gardens.Downstairs is a woodburner and in addition all rooms have electric heating.A cot ,high chair and baby bath are also available on request. Immediately outside the gite is a private seating , dining and BBQ area and in addition you have access to over an acre of stunning landscaped gardens and a covered outdoor entertainments and BBQ area.
We are located in the heart of central Brittany ,an ideal location to see all many of the sites that Brittany offers to be expolred.This property is in a beautiful rural setting but has the advantage of being only 10 minutes drive from the National Routeway N164 that opens up travel to all the sights and delights of Brittany. We are 1h15 and 2h25 respectively from St. Malo and Caen ferries and 1h20 and 50 minutes respectively from Dinard and Rennes airports. The village of Gomene has a Pub tabac and Sunday market and the neighbouring village of Meneac ( 2 minutes drive away ) has a village store , Boulagerie for your bread , cakes and fresh croissants , Tabac bar , Pub .Pizzeria and Tuesday market.
Come and stay this attractive cottage and experience the sights , gourmet food , fine wine , markets and beauty of central Brittany. Pets not accepted.

THE SWIMMING POOL GARDENS AND GROUNDS
Swim in our heated pool or relax on the sun loungers. Positioned in the gardens and not overlooked ,the pool benefits from a heat dome that is removable on sunny days but left in place if you are unlucky with the weather so that swimming can continue on less agreeable days. Sun-loungers and pool furniture in place. Open Summer Season Only - from 1st May to end of September subject to water temperatures.
The gite is within the grounds of our former farmhouse and bakery and you will have full access to over an acre of stunning landscaped gardens with countryside and forest views . The grounds are set up for your enjoyment and you are welcome to stay on site all day to take advantage of the facilities if you wish. Your gite benefits from its own private seating and BBQ area but there is also a large covered BBQ and entertainments area in the grounds. Set amongst the boarders, pathways and orchard you will find numerous seating areas, a boule court, swing and slide activity frame , badminton, goal net, and numerous outdoor games are available including table tennis, croquet, darts, skittles and cricket.
If you're looking for a restful place to spend the day or return to at the end of a days sightseeing or activities for a family or larger group we could be the place for you.
We are happy to accommodate you for celebrations but this is not a suitable venue for loud drinking parties and we do not accept bookings for hen /stag parties or similar.
