While camped on the sunny hillside opposite the village of Marquay, the field, which covers fifteen hectares, boasts a magnificent view of the surrounding countryside and forests. The peace and tranquility give this place a little taste of paradise.
To live and walk in the Dordogne.
If the sites of Beynac, Castelnaud, Domme, Roque Gageac, Commarque, etc., are the best known, hundreds of castles and villages are to be discovered by walking or paddling over the Dordogne or Vézère. Each stop, if it is not gourmet, is a feast for the eye in an exceptional preserved nature of certain temptations.
Located in the center of the triangle formed by the Eyzies (the Museum of Man of Cro-Magnon), Montignac (caves of Lascaux) and Sarlat (THE famous medieval city), La Malonie enjoys a privileged location to discover the Dordogne its treasures.

Family time in the Dordogne

Perfect location for our week long gathering with friends and family. We stayed in home #2 and #3 and had room to spread out and come together in the dining room area that joined the 2 buildings.

Beautiful location, beautiful property.

3 families with young kids. This was our second stay and and both were outstanding. The hosts have thought of almost everything to make the stay as easy as possible. Kitchens arent huge but are very well equipped to cook proper meals. The whole 0lace is immaculately clean. Views are incredible, there is a surprising amount to do within 30 mins drive considering how remote it feels. Would love to come again.

Group holiday with family and friends

The house is absolutely stunning, the views are incredible and Virginie (owner) was always available and very helpful. The property is remote, so very private, but lots of great day trips within 30 mins drive. The only downside is the lack of a/c. The upstairs bedrooms were a little warm, in the height of summer this may be an issue. We were planning a return trip on the way to the airport, fully recommend!

Perfect break near Sarlat

We were a group of 3 families staying for a week in the Dordogne and this was the perfect place. Lots of space, beautiful views, well equipped, perfect location. The kids loved the pool, table football, ping pong and boules at the property. Adults loved the views, relaxing areas and good food at the dining table with panoramic views! Nearby, Sarlat de Canada is a beautiful historic town, caves to the west, castles, rivers to canoe or swim in, and a lovely lake with inflatables 5 minutes away. Our lovely host meet us on arrival, explained everything, and bid us farewell on departure. A perfect holiday - thank you!

We stayed last may with 13 persons in Les Terrasses. The house is complete and very luxurious. The Domain is new and lies 4 km from Marquay and 12 Km from Sarlat. At our arrival we where friendly welcomed by Virginie. She told us how they build the Domain. You can see they put at lot of time, energy and love in the Domain. At night you have a stunning view over Marquay. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this to everybody who loves the silences in combination with luxery

The Perfect Country Retreat

From the moment we arrived at Les Terraces, it was clear that the photos and descriptions in the listing hardly do the property justice. We had a group of 10 adults for 10 days. All were comfortable, not on top of each other, and able to gather together each night for drinks and dinner in the shared space between the two houses. It is 20 minutes to Sarlat-la-Canéda, 25 to Les Eyzies, and 30 to Domme. It’s incredibly peaceful and restorative—even if you indulge in the local wine in excess :). Viginie was a fabulously gracious host who checked in on us periodically by text to ensure that we were having a great time. She gave us great recommendations on activities and places to eat. I cannot recommend Les Terraces enough.

Magical setting and lovely house

We had a wonderful stay at Les Terraces de la Malonie. Virginie was there to welcome us despite a late arrival, and the house was beautiful - very tastefully decorated, clean, spacious and well equipped (including very comfy beds!). The pool area and pool itself was clean and nice. We loved the area: beautiful flowers, wheat fields and cuckoos. The runners amongst our group enjoyed the scenic and hilly morning runs to the nearest town, Marquay, to pick up bread and pastries. The location, around 20 mins from Sarlat, meant we were near many of the best sights of the Dordogne - Lascaux, Chateau de Castlenaud, Jardins de Marqueyssac, Roque Gageac. Virginie was on hand and very helpful and welcoming. We were a party of 7 adults and 5 kids aged 4-8 and the set up was perfect - including a shared games room where the children could master table tennis and table football. All in all a magical week - we couldn't have asked for anything more. Highly recommended.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour au domaine de la Malonie. Le logement est tout à fait conforme au descriptif et bénéfice d’une vue incroyable ! Nous étions 13 et très au large dans les 2 maisons des terrasses. Virginie nous a bien accueilli et a été très arrangeante pour que l’on puisse accéder à la piscine. Le logement est bien équipé et ne manque à mon sens de rien. Comme le logement regroupe 2 maisons reliées entre elles par une véranda, beaucoup de choses sont en double (lave-vaisselle, frigo, four, vaisselle…), ce qui peut être un peu perturbant pour l’organisation. Mais peut aussi être un gros avantage selon les groupes !

Les Terraces

Les Terraces is a beautiful property in a lovely location and was a perfect fit for our large family group. Communication with the owners was excellent and they were extremely informative and helpful. The property itself was well suited to our large family group, very spacious and so well equipped. Another family group were staying in the adjacent property and we were able to get together every evening in comfort. The property was very clean with so many facilities both indoor and out and we were fortunate to have been blessed with beautiful weather in which to enjoy the pool. Excellent gîte pour un séjour en famille !

Cette proptiété est spacieuse mais avec plusieurs salons et de grands espzces extèrieurs. Elle est constituée en fait de deux maisons reliées par un "pont-salle à manger", avec à la fois de la convivialité et aussi la possibilité de s'isoler si besoin. Ce fut parfait pour notre famille de 11 personnes pendant une semaine, où il y avait des petits.... des grands... et des moyens. À Pâques la piscine n'était pas accessible... mais nous avons par contre bénéficier d'un bel arbre de Judée tout en fleur, situé juste en face ! Ah... j'allais oublier : la région est superbe : la belle ville de Sarlat, les grottes environnantes, les châteaux, les promenades la Dordogne, etc. etc.

Un endroit aussi beau à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur !

Nous avons passé 5 jours magnifiques dans cette très belle maison restaurée avec goût, où les propriétaires ont pris grand soin d’y mettre un mobilier très confortable. Les 2 parties de la maison sont très bien agencée, un mélange de convivialité et de parties également où l’on peut être au calme. Le mobilier de cuisine est juste au top, il ne manque rien. Passons sur la partie extérieure : c’est simple, je n’ai jamais vu d’extérieurs aussi jolis et entretenus. Du grand art! La piscine est magnifique et offre une vue très belle vue sur la vallée. Bref, en conclusion : à réserver les yeux fermés pour tous les amoureux des grands espaces et des belles maisons typiques du coin. Quand on se sent quelque part, on y revient et c’est ce que nous ferons très vite!

Fantastique séjour à La Malonie

Nous avons été très bien accueillis. La propriété était très bien placée, parfaite pour un séjour de retrouvailles en famille. Les pieces sont très bien disposées et offrent ainsi à chaque membre de la famille une place adaptée pour chacun. La vue est imprenable et les infrastructures correspondent parfaitement a la description. Seule la climatisation manque par grosse chaleur ainsi que l internet haut débit (internet disponible via ligne téléphonique dans l attente de l installation de la fibre bientôt à venir). Mais tout ne peut pas être parfait et il est déjà incroyable de voir ce qui a pu être realise en seulement trois ans de travaux : une merveille ! Les propriétaires ont été très serviables et reactifs et à nos petits soins. Nous recommandons vivement cette location !
