About this property

Glacier Park Montana Lookout Tower

This 2 bedroom, 3.5 bath home, sits high on a bluff overlooking the Middle Fork of the Flathead River. The upper deck looks East to the river and to Scalplock Mountain Fire Lookout and Glacier National Park ! There is a path to the river, where a lovely beach provides a great place to picnic, swim or fish. Glacier National Park is directly across the river. The cabin is located half way between East and West Glacier off of HWY 2, so it makes it easy to visit both sides of the park.
Time to unplug and enjoy all the beauty that surrounds you! There is no cell phone coverage at the cabin and no land line for a phone. Good Cell coverage is available 25 miles east or west of the cabin. There is limited internet coverage but WiFi calling generally works okay. There is no satellite TV or other TV reception. There are 2 TV’s in the cabin with DVD players and an extensive dvd library.
The kitchen has all modern appliances and lots of fun cooking gadgets. There are spices and condiments for your use.
This is a perfect spot for a honeymoon or for 2 couples or a family of 4 to relax in all the splendor of Glacier National Park and the surrounding area. Whitefish Ski Resort has lots of summer activities and is about one hour from the house.
The house is well maintained and is cleaned thoroughly between guests.
The owner is happy to help you with your daily itineraries!
Welcome to my home❤️

Firelook on the way to Heaven
The outside of the house looked like a firework perched on the side of the mountain half-way between East and West Glacier NP. The inside was pure luxury. Our host was outstanding and offered every amenity you could imagine and even several you would never have thought of but they made the trip that much better. Loved this VRBO!

Amazing!
We absolutely LOVED staying here! Suanne was a fantastic host. The house is beautiful and the views were just completely stunning. The photos online do not do this place justice. Everything was immaculately clean and the hummingbirds were buzzing around everywhere. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic Stay!
My niece and I loved staying at this place. It is located between East and West Glacier which us perfect if you are wanting to hike both sides like we did. The house is as advertised - beautiful view from the back deck. Very peaceful. The owner really does provide plenty of amenities especially in the kitchen, not just tools but spices, seasonings, and paper products. The house was very clean and there were plenty of maps, books about Montana, games, and movies for our enjoyment. We would stay here again.

I bought this property 18 years ago with the intention of building my retirement home. I owned the cabin adjacent to it before I built my MT Fire Lookout Home 2 years ago. My 3 daughters grew up taking the train out from Minnesota with me in the summers and the winter. The cabin is located on the river and we spent many hours fly fishing, rafting and swimming in the river. We also have hiked almost every trail in Glacier National Park and several on nearby forestry land. I have several hiking books at the cabin to guide you in selecting day hikes. My profile picture is of my middle daughter, Kate. I would carry her on my back on the trails when she was small and then when she became a teenager we did several 4-7 night back packing trips in GNP. My kids and I love Glacier National Park. The kids are grown now and busy with their lives, so I decided to join the Peace Corps for 8 months! I left for Mozambique in April 2019 and returned January 2020. My neighbor was managing my VRBO while I was in Africa, but now I am! . I am happy to share this slice of paradise with you and I hope you leave with wonderful memories!

Why they chose this property

The very first time I came to Glacier I knew I would be back. This place touches my soul. The views from my house makes my heart sing!

What makes this property unique

Sitting on my deck, you are literally right across the river form Glacier National Park. I often see moose and bears down on the river.
