About this property
Braeburn Bungalow - Historic Craftsman & Walk to Downtown Hendersonville
Completely revitalized 1930's Craftsman Bungalow in Hendersonville Historic Neighborhood outfitted with contemporary Mission style furniture, modern amenities, and all of the comfort of home. Steps to biking/strolls at the local Oklawaha Greenway, breweries, coffee, restaurants, and Downtown Hendersonville. Just a quick drive to hiking, scenic views, Asheville, the Biltmore Estate, Tryon Equestrian Center, wineries, and all that Western NC has to offer.
The Braeburn Bungalow gets its name from a variety of apple, which are the well-known crop of Hendersonville!
The house is a tasteful mix of original Craftsman bungalow detailing and modern touches. Textured and plastered walls complement modern accents--such as the ship lap walls, subway tile, marble countertops, and barn door. Several original items remain in the house--from the glass fronted cabinets, to the fireplace, to the living room doors (with original, wavy glass), to reused original windows as accent pieces.
The house is literal steps away from the 7th Avenue Historic District, which features eateries, a coffeehouse, connection to the Greenway and parks, and soon to be FOUR local craft breweries. Venture for a couple minutes more, and you've walked to the absolute charm of Downtown Hendersonville. Downtown is full of additional restaurants (ranging from delis to fine dining), to cideries, to MORE breweries, to a handful of local craft and antique stores.
The entire main level of the house, and house grounds, will be available exclusively to the guests.
Guests will have total privacy, as hosts are off-site. We will strive to be as responsive as we can be throughout your stay. Intermittently, we may be on the premises for routine yardwork or to access the basement, but we will let you know ahead of time, and there's a dedicated entrance to the basement so that we don't disturb your stay.
There is a basement, but it is intended to be Owner-accessed only for hospitality supplies. The rear shed is off-limits to cars and guests--due to structural concerns.
The Braeburn Bungalow is situated in Cold Spring Park, a National Register of Historic Places Historic District.
You can learn more about the type of history and type of homes by Googling "Cold Spring Park Historic District" and follow the first link. AirBnb won't allow me to link to it directly.
The neighborhood largely consists of charming single-family homes.

My husband & I stayed in this lovely home with our Boston Terrier over Labor Day weekend. We came for the Apple Festival and nothing about the home, town or festival was disappointing, it was all so beautiful. The home was absolutely lovely and we could walk to downtown. We will definitely stay again when we come back to Hendersonville.
Nice property with a 6 minute drive to downtown Hendersonville, such a cute downtown with fun shopping and great choices of restaurants. We were in town for a tennis tournament and were 15 minutes away from both clubs. Drove 17 minutes to Justus Orchards . The house was very clean and Brandon was always available when we communicated.
It was great to stay in this Historic House which has been updated with modern conveniences and is located so close to Main Street's shops, restaurants and museums. We will definitely plan another visit to this wonderful city. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Reunited with old friends over Memorial Day Weekend. Had a great time at wineries, fishing and exploring downtown Hendersonville. Highly recommend this vacation rental. Excellent location that’s walkable to downtown, clean, and plenty of room for families or couples getaway. We’ll be back!
Super clean home, very comfortable for a family! The owner is terrific, very accommodating with quick response time. Much to do in town with many great restaurants and shopping. Hiking nearby with waterfalls at Dupont, Chimney Rock and much more all very close! Such a memorable stay! Fun for all ages!
We loved staying at this home. The house is very comfortable and furnished/decorated beautifully. The amenities were top-notch from the quality of the sheets/bedding to the kitchenware. I truly felt like I was at home here (although I think a much nicer home!). Centrally located to anything you might want to do in the area. We will definitely stay here again.
The perfect weekend getaway! Very close to downtown and surrounding areas with great restaurants, shops, vineyards, apple orchards, etc. The bungalow was very clean, well equipped, spacious, comfortable and inviting, wonderful front porch and great communication with the host.
Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!
Beautiful home and very comfortable. Well stocked and had everything we needed. Close to downtown H'ville.
Front steps are a little uneven and steep, so loading and unloading is much easier from the back entrance. We will definitely stay again!
We stayed in Hendersonville at Braeburn Bungalow before dropping our girls at sleepaway camp. The house was a great space for our family (2 adults, girls 8 and 10, and two large dogs). The location was unbeatable...walkable for our family to main street and to the restaurants near the train depot. We loved exploring the town. The house is also a short drive to great hiking in the Dupont National Forest. We will definitely stay here again!!
This house is in a perfect location to go anywhere in the Hendersonville area. There is just the right amount of space for our family of 6. The home owners have thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and clean. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!
Our family of 5 stayed for 3 nights over a long weekend of enjoying various activities in the area. From the moment we walked through the door, we all loved the charm of the place. We also quickly realized the level of thoughtfulness of the host in terms of the accomodations and all of the "extras" that help it feel like home. Highly recommend!
The Braeburn Bungalow met all of our expectations for a long weekend trip to Hendersonville. The house layout worked great for our group of four, as it has two large bathrooms and three bedrooms. It was great to find a home with twin beds so everyone had their own bed. Brandon is a very responsive host.
Very convenient location. Cozy house with very comfortable beds. We were there over the Christmas holiday when it went to 1 degree, but everything went well. Brandon was very responsive to any questions and receptive to a suggestion or two. As the title indicates, it had everything we needed and the dogs enjoyed the yard.
The house was very clean and well stocked. Did some remote work and Wi-Fi was good. Slept like a baby on the comfortable bed. We had no issues at all. Nice walk around the corner to some excellent breweries. Parking and house access much easier from the back.

Charming place
Overall good but needs a deep clean. Lots of dust and dirt in floor areas, plus spiders everywhere. Well appointed with everything you need except coffee for first morning. Bedroom door knob does not work and I was locked inside for awhile until rescued by spouse….dangerous if you needed to get out quick. Parking was a challenge as well but made it work. Location and porch were nice. Modern bathrooms great too. We would come back.
Absolutely wonderful house. The charm of a old bungalow style home with all the modern upgrades and conveniences. Loved the kitchen and the master suite especially. Incredibly comfortable with numerous additional touches such as streaming TV, games, new appliances, wonderful bed linens, soap and shampoo, plus lots of informative notes in the house.
Location was close to downtown with plenty of shops and restaurants. Short drive to Flat Rock. Be sure to check out the village bakery. Also reasonable drive to Asheville.
The host was great. Communication about details and parking information through messaging was quick.
I’d definitely recommend. It was perfect for our friend group and I can imagine it would be wonderful for families or even a romantic trip.
Thank you hosts!
The house was lovely and very comfortable for our 8 night stay with the family and our wheaten terrier. The house was just as listed except the listing mentions a mountain view and there is no mountain view in the summer from any angle. There is no parking except for in front of the house and at times it was a little tight assuming due to the holiday weekend and parties going on. The beds were very comfortable and the master bathroom is huge! The master closet also is huge and has a desk, monitor, and keyboard to make working remote easy. It was a nice surprise to find snacks left for us in the kitchen and cold beer in the refrigerator. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Overall, all surface areas were very clean but like many rentals the house needs a deep cleaning (ceiling fans, corners, baseboards, etc.) however, I would not hesitate to stay again. We had a wonderful visit and enjoyed walking downtown many times and there is an amazing ice cream place around the corner. Thanks for sharing your home with our family.
Our girls’ group stayed here last Fall and enjoyed it so much, we came back!
Very good communication with host; easy check in; property is exactly as shown in photos.
The house was perfect for us! It was charming, spacious, clean, comfortable and welcoming. We walked downtown for dinner one evening and it was a short driving distance to all the places outside downtown we visited. We loved the house and would definitely stay there again.
This house sleeps six. It is very clean and on a quiet street. Very close to everything in Old Hendersonville including shops and restaurants.
We will be staying there again.......

My wife, Beth, and I love the mountains, travel, and spending time with our young sosn, Samuel and Alden, and our English Springer Spaniel, Zelda.
Why they chose this property
We lived here for a year before work drove us closer to Asheville. We loved this home so much, though, that we simply refused to part with it. The long-term goal is to hold onto it as a vacation rental with the intent of passing it along to our children one day.
What makes this property unique
It's an absolutely charming house that's been recently restored to be a tasteful mix of original details and modern touches. The 7th Avenue District is less than a 5 minute walk from the house and is rapidly filling with breweries, restaurants, and cafes. Downtown is less than a 10 minute walk to the house. We also love being walking distance from Hendersonville's Greenway along the creek. Great for stolls and biking.
