This beautiful cabin has so many options at your finger tips of activities around the house and property or within Ashley National Forest. The valley the cabin sits in is considered "The Gateway to Granddaddy Lake Trailhead", a popular trail hike for people and horses, the trail continues on to many other trails and lakes in the High Uinta's. There are many more hikes and horseback riding trails right from the front door along the North Fork River and a mile hike to a small 8ft waterfall from the cabin up a beautiful side valley following Swift Creek, pine trees and Aspens. The famous North Fork River for fishing or tubbing, passes the house within walking distance and meets up with a bigger river, Duchesne River in Hanna for river fishing. West Fork is only a mile from North Fork for more fishing and outdoor fun. We will let you know where our secret swim hole and zip line is on the North Fork River, just a stretch of the legs by the cabin when you check in. Only street legal vehicles are allowed in this valley that has 3 camp grounds, Aspen, Castle Cliff Campground, Hades, and Iron Mine, but if you enjoy 4 wheeling, 100's of miles of trails in the High Uinta's, right off Wolf Creek Pass, West Fork, and East Fork, are just a 10 minute trailer ride away. Along with trails to Castle Rock and Still Water Dam (in East Fork). Street legal Razors are allowed to leave right from the property to 100's of miles of mountain trails. There is also a turn off in Hanna, just 10 minutes the other way, that takes you to 4 wheeler trails to the top of Castle Rock where you get a view of Hades Lake and our valley, or take the trails to Still Water Dam, all are located with in Ashley National Forest. Starvation Lake is a 45 minute drive from the cabin and is great for all boating activities. It also has a nice beach area and rentals of all sorts for fun on the lake. We enjoy Starvation, because its not as busy as other Utah lakes. Bring all of your toys because there is something to do with them all year round, bikes, horses, fishing poles, tubes, 4 wheelers, Razors, hiking shoes, etc. So many trails from the cabin, North Fork, West Fork, Wolf Creek Pass, East Fork and Stillwater Dam. Bring your boat to the cabin and trailer the boat to Starvation Res State Park (little Lake Powell). it is beautiful and less crowded than any other of the Utah lakes and only 46 miles from the cabin.
The property itself is on 3 acres, the house is 3000 sq ft, with an extra 1300 sq ft of outdoor decking living space with an outdoor fire place on the deck. The house overlooks Swift Creek (seasonal creek that runs year round based on mountain snow pack) that runs through the property and makes a beautiful waterfall sound. If swift Creek happens to be dry, you can hear the larger North Fork River from the house too. The cabin has a nice size fire pit with bench seating, its just steps away from the front door. North Fork, where the cabin is nestled, is a beautiful valley with mountains that have beautiful rock formations and cliffs, Lightning Ridge, Castle Rock, and Stone Face to name a few. The cabin has a wonderful master suite with an extra deep soaker tub. Master has its own walk out deck. Large loft with pool table, loft has its own walk out deck with amazing views of valley and river. 2 bedrooms on main floor with 1 bathroom. Open concept main living area and kitchen. This was the perfect getaway for our group of seven adult friends. We get together every summer and book a mountain cabin. This is one that we will definitely come back to! The views from every deck were amazing. The cabin was clean and comfortable and the owner was extremely helpful and responsive throughout the stay.

Your group was amazing to host and we can’t wait for your return, thank you!
This place is special. Incredible cabin in a magical location. The grounds are so well kept and provide numerous places to enjoy the 360 degree views (e.g., wrap-around porch, numerous balconies, hammocks, fire pit, and multiple options for dinning outdoors). There are hummingbird feeders on every side of the house and at least 50 hummingbirds at all times. Watching them from the windows and the deck provided constant joy and entertainment. We will definitely be back.

We stayed at this house for a bachelorette party, exceeded all of our expectations. A lot to do in the area, also hanging out at the house with friends with the great views were great! Best stocked vrbo we have ever stayed in. The owners were very responsive with any questions. I would highly suggest for a relaxing weekend!
Homey and comfortable that made our family feel welcome. It felt like we were visiting a relative's home. Beautiful location. Great amenities. The Adventure Awaits activity board was fabulous!
All that we could have imagined! Great property in great location, Kayaking on Mill Hollow Reservoir, fishing the Duchesne River and Grandaddy Lake was awesome. Thanks for the clean, great property. Will definitely stay again

Julie and Rich are wonderful hosts and their cabin is second to none. Staying at this cabin allows you to enjoy its seclusion while being just a short drive from the quaint town of Hanna, where you’ll meet some of the nicest people around. Highly recommended.
Great views , good access to outdoor fun, big kitchen that well equipped to feed big groups. Good comfortable spot to relax or as a luxury base camp to have fun in the mountains.
We’ll probably be back.

We had such a good time at this cabin! The scenery was breathtaking. The hummingbirds, chipmunks and squirrels were entertaining. We played lots of pool, hiked around and played cards. We swam at the swimming hole and zip lined into the swimming hole. We made many memories! The cabin had everything we needed!
Wonderful! I would have loved to be even more isolated and to have more ATV trails close by.

We are so glad your family had a wonderful time. I’m not sure about the ATV trail comment because there are literally hundreds of miles of trails minutes from the cabin and we have maps, directions and pictures in the cabin on how to get to them. In North Fork we have trail 180, it crosses North Fork Dushesne River and up the mountain. Gorgeous views of the whole canyon. If you have a Razor you can go to the Grandaddy Trailhead, it’s amazing. On the way to the top of Wolf Creek Pass there’s parking for multiple trailheads (Buckboard Pass etc) that take you to the top of Lightning Ridge, only 15 minutes from cabin. Then there’s West Fork, 10 minutes away, tons of trails that take you over a mountain and towards Current Creek. At the top of Wolf Creek Pass, 25 minutes from cabin, at Silver Meadows turn off, there’s hundred of miles of trails. Some take you to edge of North Fork to look into the canyon. Across the street is the Dushesne Ridge trails going the opposite way, hundreds of trails in the Uinta National Forest. My favorite trail, about 20 minutes from the cabin, in Ashley National Forest, is the trail to Stillwater Dam, or it splits and takes you to the top of Castle Rock and you have views of the tops of the Uinta’s for days. We have maps, pictures and directions for all of these places in the cabin. You would of had an amazing time if you ventured out and tried them. Thank you for choosing our cabin. We appreciate it!
I would for sure stay here again. It was more then we expected. The hostess was fast to respond and very helpful with navigating the area. The kitchen was stocked better then any house I’ve ever rented before. The beds were VERY comfortable. We were a family of 8 and our 6 kids loved it. Highly recommend this house to anyone
Wow!!! The most detailed & accurate listing of any place I've ever stayed. The host was incredible with communication & went above & beyond with details of where to hike, what to do, & nearby 4th of July happenings. We didn't want to leave this amazing place!
I highly recommend booking this cabin! The views are incredible and it's the perfect place to spend time with family or friends!
We stayed for 3 nights and absolutely enjoyed our time up there. We sat by the fire every night, explored a few places near the cabin, did some fishing, riding and relaxed. We loved the adventure board that's in the cabin that shows detailed information on some really neat places that are nearby!
Julie, the owner, was great to work, and the communication was outstanding. She did a fantastic job in relaying information ahead of our arrival and was very accommodating!

We greatly enjoyed our time at this cabin. The views around the cabin were stunning, especially at sunrise and sunset. The air smelled so good and it was fun watching all the birds. There are multiple decks to enjoy all the views!! Everything worked well and the beds were very comfortable. The Traeger Grill was our favorite part. We ended up buying one for ourselves when we returned home. Thank you so much!!

I’m so happy that you enjoy yourselves!! So funny about the Traeger, your not the first to buy one after using ours. Thank you for being such great guests.
I’ve never stayed in Ashley National Forest, but will return soon and book this cabin. Similar beauty to neighboring Uintas, just without crowds. The cabin was comfortable with loads of outdoor patio space on all sides to hide from the hot sun. Plenty to do onsite with billiards, board games, fire pit and more.
Our favorite spot was a quick one minute drive to the water hole with the zip line cable. The kids loved tubing down the creek. The host provided all necessary float tubes and helpfully has an entire information center of things to do nearby. We can’t wait to come back next Summer.

We absolutely loved this cabin! The cabin itself had ample room for our party of 11 and extra pillows and blankets which was much appreciated. It was beautifully decorated and the kitchen was so functional and had everything we needed. We just loved all the wildlife watching we did, birds, deer, cows, prairie dogs... my kids loved it! We also loved how close the water recreation all is. The fire pit was a hit, and so was the movie library downstairs. Julie, the Owner, was so kind and answered all my questions. She was such a pleasure to work with and helped me whenever I needed something. Wonderful cabin, wonderful Owner, wonderful experience!

Thank you! You guys were such wonderful guests, we hope to have you back someday.
The inside of the cabin was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We just brought food, personal belongings and toys. Our family ranged from 4 to 79 years old and there was something to entertain everyone. There are lots of stairs so that would be the only hiccup for some of the older folks. We explored almost everything on the map and made lots of memories. I would suggest finding out more details for the hike to the waterfall and the hot spots for fishing and 4 wheeling from the property owners before you go. I would recommend for couples, girls' weekend and family vacation!
A true gem of a find in Ashley National Forest. The property has plenty of space - activities to keep all age ranges happy. We loved the Adventure board you put together! And we’re able to enjoy a few activities off of it. After a long day, we enjoyed making our meals in the very well stocked kitchen, and we used the smoker and grill! At nights we enjoyed the fire pit and the sounds of the creek that runs right by. We made such amazing memories and really are talking about coming back. Thank you so much again, for sharing your beautiful slice of heaven with strangers!! It will be something we talk about for a lifetime.

You’re so welcome! We hope we get to host your family again!
2 families of 5 were able to enjoy this home together. The kids were in love with the board games (crazy, right?). We played outdoor games on the wonderful side lawn. We enjoyed the swimming hole, even though it was a longer "hike" with gear than we would have liked.
The home was set up and decorated in such a way that all of us just felt comfortable! It was fabulous!
The owner was great to work with. She sent a message the day before giving information that we needed. She was quick with repsonses via phone or VRBO messages. Definitely worth a stay! Thank you for being so great to work with!

We are so glad you guys had a great time. Sorry about the hike with gear to the swim hole. I forget that everyone’s ideas of ‘not that far’ is different for everyone. I should offer more information about the trail. From where you park the car, taking the trail over foot bridges and through the forest to the zipline, is about 70 yards. The trail does take you down a hill to the footbridges and I admit, coming back up the hill with chairs and tubes after hanging at the river can be daunting, but I hope The beauty of the area with the red cliffs above you, rivers and pine trees are worth it. We really enjoyed you staying with us and grateful to have such great guests, thank you.
We LOVED our stay at the LRR! First, the owner Julie was great! Very easy to get ahold of for any questions we had. Second, the views from every single space in this house are incredible. I live in Utah and have spent a lot of time in the mountains, but these were extraordinary! Neighbors are not close by and the setting is very tranquil. Our kids are 17, 14, and 6 and each one found ways to entertain themselves. The bunk room was perfect for them, and since they were all together we didn’t worry at all being 2 stories above them. We also had grandparents with us and they were happy! Kitchen was well appointed. Bathrooms had plenty of towels and nice shampoo etc. And the beds were so comfortable!! We will absolutely be back!

About the host
Hosted by Julie Martin-Stevenson
We purchased the land in 2003 because we fell madly in love with the valley. But our cabin was just finished the fall of 2018, and still needs some finishing work. We waited a long time to build the cabin but our family have had many a fabulous time on the land and we find the area enchanting and we can't wait to share it.
Why they chose this property
So much to do in the area. You have a feeling of being far away on vacation and yet you're only 1.45 hours from Salt Lake City.
What makes this property unique
There aren't many properties that can boast being surrounded by a National Forest. So many activities all with in minutes of the cabin. The valley the cabin sits in is absolutely gorgeous and unlike anywhere.
