The private 20-acre nature estate just off Ruta 34 in Costa Rica’s Central Pacific, about 10 minutes by car from Carara National Park. This is not a manicured resort or a standardized modern rental. It is a Costa Rica estate, an authentic tribute to the colonial heritage architecture designed for guests who value space, privacy, nature, and independence.

The property includes 7 independent villas spread across a natural seasonal forest setting. Unlike a single-villa stay, this estate gives groups multiple private spaces while still allowing everyone to stay together on one property.

The villas were intentionally built in a traditional colonial style, using solid concrete construction, high ceilings, shaded terraces, clay tile floors, and handcrafted details. These design choices help the homes feel strong, grounded, naturally cool, and connected to the surrounding environment, while still offering modern comforts such as A/C, hot water, full kitchens, and fiber optic internet.

The villas feature authentic Loseta de Barro, a handmade clay tile with natural color variation, texture, and patina. These floors are not meant to look like modern uniform tile; their earthy finish and age are part of the traditional character of the homes. Bathrooms feature hand painted Talavera-style tilework, adding color, craftsmanship, and timeless Spanish charm.

The surrounding grounds are kept natural rather than manicured. Costa Rica has two very different seasons: the dry season brings a golden, more open forest feel and perfect for photography, while the rainy season brings lush greenery. Both seasons are part of the estate’s natural setting.

This is a property with personality, history, architecture, and nature, not a hotel, resort, or polished suburban style rental. Guests who appreciate traditional materials, high ceilings, privacy, wildlife, and an real Costa Rica setting tend to enjoy the estate most.

The 7 villas, approximately 14,000+ sq ft of total living space, 3 pool areas and a pool casita to gather, outdoor gathering spaces, natural roads and paths, and parking near the villas. You can walk or drive your car, your choice.

The villas are distributed across the property for privacy. Moving between homes, pools, and gathering areas may require walking or short drives within the estate.
The central gathering area includes space for group meals, relaxing, and spending time together. Guests may bring their own groceries, drinks, and supplies, or arrange optional services such as a private chef, transportation, tours, massages, or activities in advance for an additional cost and subject to availability.

The pool and gathering areas are self-use spaces. No food, beverage, bar, or poolside service is included.

Nature & Seasonal Setting

The estate is set within a natural Costa Rica environment where wildlife, seasonal changes, and tropical surroundings are part of the experience. Guests may see scarlet macaws, howler monkeys, iguanas, coatis, agoutis, tropical birds, bats, insects, butterflies and other wildlife. Wildlife is free roaming and cannot be guaranteed.

During the dry season, usually December through April, the forest can look more golden, open, and dry. During the rainy season, usually May through November, the estate becomes greener and more lush. Both seasons are part of the natural Central Pacific landscape.

About the host

Hola soy Eugenia. Please note: We are not a modern, American-style resort property with manicured gardens or golf carts. Aquí vienes a la naturaleza profunda. Somos un santuario vivo. Si esto resuena contigo, este es tu lugar.

Why they chose this property

Choosing this specific location on Costa Rica’s spectacular Central Pacific coast was a deeply intentional decision driven by a passion for raw, untouched biodiversity. This region represents one of the most vital ecological junctions in the country, a true biological corridor where the lush, dense rainforest directly meets the marine ecosystems of the coast. We chose this exact neighborhood because it offers travelers the rare and priceless luxury of complete seclusion without isolation. It is an authentic oasis away from the over commercialized tourist traps, concrete resorts, and crowded city centers, allowing our guests to experience the real, unadulterated rhythm of Costa Rican nature. What makes this neighborhood so spectacular is its positioning as a natural highway for native wildlife. Because the surrounding land remains heavily protected and undeveloped, our corner of the region serves as a thriving sanctuary for scarlet macaws, playful monkeys, toucans, and exotic frogs that fly freely across the canopy. Yet, despite feeling like you are deep in an uncharted jungle paradise, the location is strategically accessible. Within a short drive, your group can transition from the total tranquility of our forest to the local beaches, hidden natural waterfalls, and authentic regional towns. We chose this neighborhood because it provides the ultimate balance for an unforgettable group getaway: a private, secure eco-refuge where you can completely unplug from the modern world, while remaining perfectly positioned to explore the very best adventures that the Central Pacific has to offer. This is a self checking and self check out property.

What makes this property unique

Our property is not just a place to sleep; it is a sprawling, 20-acre private tropical sanctuary designed specifically for families and large groups seeking a culturally rich, immersive nature experience. What sets us completely apart from standard rental homes or corporate hotels is our unique integration of traditional Costa Rican architecture and raw wilderness. The estate features 7 individual villas accommodating up to 27 guests, constructed in a magnificent Spanish Colonial cultural style. Walking through the property is a visual and sensory journey; the villas are beautifully adorned with handmade Loseta de Barro (clay floor tiles) and vibrant, hand-painted Talavera-style tilework. This architectural soul creates an atmosphere of colonial and historic charm, keeping the spaces naturally cool and grounded while remaining entirely surrounded by forest.
