A lovely house with wonderful pool area, pretty gardens, comfortable beds and air conditioning. The village itself is very pretty and has a great little restaurant.
We have had an amazing family holiday. Thank you Morgane!

Beautiful Vacation Home
We spent a wonderful week in Montfort. We loved the cozy cottage and the beautiful views from the terraces. We spent many pleasant evenings having dinner overlooking the valley. It was very nice to have the boulangerie close by as well as a few nice restaurants. We also spent a great day canoeing the river and exploring the local villages.

Thanks for your message. We are always happy to read that you had good time in Montfort. I wish you a safe trip back to Canada !
Wonderful house with great pool and hot tub. Inside had everything we needed and full of character.
Thank you Morgane for a lovely week despite the weather.
House is ideally located to visit castles and nice villages around. You can be fully busy during a week with historic sites visits within less than 15 km range from the house.
The house itself is a dream place : the garden on several floors, the outside dining area, and the incredible view on the castle. A memorable holiday.
Beautiful holiday home with lovely gardens. Very clean and well presented. We especially enjoyed the garden and outside space. The owners are lovely nothing was too much trouble for them. The property is in a lovely village and ideally placed for many of the tourist sites. I can highly recommend this property.

Super location with magnificent views
We absolutely thoroughly enjoyed our stay which started with a warm welcome from Morgane and Thierry together with a lovely treat in the fridge. The property was clean and the garden with pool was just perfect for us. Would highly recommend choosing this property for a holiday as everything you would need and many historical places to visit are either within walking distance, cycling distance or driving. Together with the best market at St Cyprien held on a Sunday (thanks for the tip Thierry).

Thanks a lot Erika.
We really enjoyed to have you as our guest, and wish to see you again in Montfort.
What can I say?! Just WOW! Morgan's place was the mosy beautiful place we ever stayed at. Everything was perfec! Starting for a very friendly welcome with some lovely wine and snacks, through the most beauty view of Château Montfort to the most relaxing days by the pool. I can honestly recommend this place to anyone who fancy explore Dordogne!
The house was lovely but our enjoyment of the house, pool and garden was marred by traffic noise from a busy road some 3 metres away from the house and garden. The house was quieter at night but still some traffic noise in the early morning.

We never hide that the house is in a village with a road crossing it.
If you live in a very isolated place like you told me in the Scottish countryside, the slightest noise bothers you, and I understand. But to say that there is a lot of traffic and noise...Sorry you didn't find what you were looking for but Dordogne is a turistic place which can be busy during summer.
This lovely stone house has it all - wonderful host, great location, excellent indoor and outdoor living spaces, well appointed and properly equipped. Having traveled extensively throughout Europe, and having stayed in dozens of rental properties, we consider this to be one of our favourites. We very much enjoyed relaxing here for a week, easily dividing our time between the cool indoors and the pretty terrace and pool. There are plenty of nearby sights and, given its proximity to Sarlat, shopping was a breeze. The delightful owner met us promptly at the pre-arranged time and gave us a quick tour and all of the information we needed to get settled, but remained within easy contact for any questions that arose. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. We will definitely return when next in the area. Thank you Morgane for a fabulous stay!
Our stay in Montfort was just lovely. Parking was easy as was the check-in with Thierry. After a quick tour we settled in straight away. The weather was only just starting to heat up when we were there, but we still happily enjoyed the pool and hot tub, as well as all the various areas to sit in the garden with amazing views of the castle and countryside. The BBQ was great (gas), as was the well equipped kitchen. Everything you need was there to whip up meals with ease. Lots of spots to eat inside and outside. In terms of configuration, just a note that there is a separate toilet and shower room on the ground floor, and an en-suite shower room in the master bedroom upstairs, with a separate toilet on the upstairs landing for all 3 bedrooms. There are also lots of steps in the garden - people with mobility issues or very young children might find it challenging. You can walk for miles from the house. We found some great paths and quiet roads to explore. There’s so much fantastic architecture in the area. There’s a restaurant Le Centenaire across the road from the house, which we enjoyed twice - it has a very laid back family vibe there under a fantastic tree. Check its opening hours though and do book. Note, some reviews mention a boulangerie in the village - however, it’s been closed for about 2 years. There is a spot that sells ice cream sporadically a couple of doors down from Le Centenaire. Otherwise, try the cafes in Vitrac, we recommend Chez Ninon.
We loved this little cottage, had all the facilities we needed and more …. Pool was a fantastic luxury. Location was perfect for seeing the dordogne. Hosts made it all very easy for us. Will look to go again so a huge Thankyou
This house really is a great place. It has wonderful gardens, a great pool, a hot tub in a cave which was great for cooling off. The air conditioning makes it very cool internally and the beds were mega comfortable. The hosts are very nice people and gave us some excellent advice on where to visit. We visited the beautiful walled village of Domme, Sarlat which is wonderful for shopping and dinner with fantastic architecture on show. We canoed down the Dordogne taking in the great sights and castles in the different towns. In the evening when we wanted a few drinks to accompany a great meal we walked a 100 metres to the pub/ restaurant La Centenaire where Johan and his team offer great food and a great welcome ( recommend to book a reservation). The Boulangerie in the little hamlet of Montfort is a 3 minute walk and was great for all your breakfast goods and bread etc.
This is a great home in a lovely hamlet at the the foot of a castle with great views and links to some of the best villages and towns in France and we will definitely return.
I'm so very pleased we selected this comfortable house for our holiday in the Dordogne.
Whilst it was boiling hot in France during our holiday, we knew we could always retreat to this fabulous air conditioned home, plus use the cave/jacuzzi and heated pool to cool down.
The kitchen is well provisioned for cooking at home which we did a fair amount of with the children. Beds are comfortable and there's lots of indoor and outdoor space to relax, together or apart.
It's so close to Sarlat for amenities (more than I'd realised!, within easy reach of the famous villages of the Dordogne (Beynac, Castelnaud, La Roque-Gageac) plus places like Rocamadour, and has a stunning location in Montfort, with spectacular views overlooking the castle.
Carsac has a great little Spar for odds and ends, as well as a good cycle hire shop, and the Pirates of Perigord pizza/crazy golf/bar which was a good stop for the family.
The best cycle hire (and a more interesting route) can be found at Castelnaud La Chapelle (Bike Bus), plus you have a great castle to visit, nice restaurants (La Plage is good), and there's a bakery and canoe hire there (although we preferred Canoes Loisirs at Vitrac).
If you're after a good coffee, stop at Cafe Layac on the road to Cenac.
Morgane is a fabulous host, who always replied quickly, and made things really easy for us with a great welcome and check-out and has put a great deal of thought and care into the home.
The property was perfect for our needs and let us enjoy a great week in Beautiful Dordogne. It was clean with a well equipped kitchen, a spacious dining and lounge area with 3 reasonably sized bedrooms and the two shower/bathrooms were ideal.
The pool and garden were a great place to relax and enjoy the hot and sunny weather we experienced with great views of the Castle and surrounding scenery.
Communication with Morgane was excellent who replied promptly to any messages, allowed us to drop our bags off early and accommodated our early check-out as we had an early morning flight.
We found the location great for day trips to Sarlat, Domme, La Roque-Gageac and close to river Dordogne and Carsac.
In the small village of Montfort we found Le Centenarie a great place to enjoy some local food and wine and with the patisserie a short walk away for morning pastries and Baguettes.
Recommended.
Very close to Sarlat, in the typical village of Montfort, the place is perfect to discover the region. This old barn was completly restored and offer all the former charms but with the modern facilities. The swimming-pool and the garden on several levels fit perfectly into the typical Dordogne landscape. The garden is completly closed, so kids can enjoy it in total security. And for the atypical side, the grotto with its jacuzzi will not fail to surprise you!
