A great week

The property is fantastic. It is huge, both inside and out. The bedrooms are spacious, the patio and pool areas were very well designed and laid out. The property is a quirky mix of old and new, we thought it worked very well. The pool was gorgeous to return to after a hot day of sightseeing and exploring. The location of the property, in the village is excellent and the village within the Dordogne, in our seven days we went to a different place each day, most within a half hour drive. Our host was great, sharing great local knowledge and making sure the pool was kept sparkling. Thank you.

The best of Dordogne

We had a lovely time staying in this traditional, well equipped, beautiful French home. The bedrooms are comfortable, the kitchen has everything one might need, the bathrooms clean and the pool is delightful. Cenac has the air of "real" France as tourists are mainly attracted to the more touristy Dome. All the locations of local touristic interest are close. The shops provide the best of local produce, including excellent wine and the shopkeepers are friendly and helpful. It took us the best part of a week to sample the local bakeries. There is plenty of walking for the keen, especially as the river is 5 minutes walk, offering canoeing as well. Importantly, although we spent our time basking in the sun by the pool, the garden offers plenty of shade if needed and the thick stone walls retain low temperatures in the house. We have a lovely, memorable holiday and our host was helpful and gallant. We feel we had the best Dordogne could offer.

Great Location

Overall this was a good place. The outside space was great ,the inside was fine ,though felt the attic room was a little awkward to access and needed an update.The mattresses however were very comfortable!It was also not clear that towels are not included in the price . So we were a little upset to be charged 12euros per person per towel pack on arrival . We felt that the price of the property was sufficiently high to warrant inclusion of towels.Also on our last day 9.30 is the given departure time and we were surprised to have cleaners turn up at 8.40am and start clearing up around us . We were trying to eat breakfast outside and she was literally sweeping under our feet. It was very rude ! We felt pressured to be out early, when we were on schedule to leave by 9.30 !!!!On the whole a nice place just a shame about a few niggles!!!Location could not fault ...it was ideal for visiting all the beauty spots and ideal for walking into the village for supplies .

Lovely pool area and great village location

A beautiful traditional stone house ideally located in a nice village- a stone’s throw from a great local tabac which also has a good restaurant and live entertainment weekly. The farm shop, Boulangerie, cave au vins and poterie are all excellent and 2 minutes on foot. There is a great weekly market with fantastic array of food and produce. Also some fun community events like a gourmet market with food trucks and live music. We stayed for a week and didn’t hire a car as we could even walk to the Carredour 5 minutes away. Canoe Raid Cenac is excellent for both Canadian canoes and kayaks and highly recommend them. The house has a lovely outdoor area with nice pool, plenty of blow up toys and a good quality table tennis table. There was also a brand new BBQ. Inside it is clean but the bathrooms are a bit basic without walk in shower except for the big downstairs suite which has a big separate shower. The electrics in the bedrooms are a bit quirky and no main overhead lights so can be a bit dark. Very well equipped kitchen and laundry. Lovely upstairs terrace attached to one room. Cedric was very nice and friendly with his lovely dog Pixel, we had some delays with communication via email and WhatsApp occasionally so would recommend communicating via SMS. Overall a really lovely holiday thank you! A very peaceful location and a charming traditional house.

Vacances cenac et saint julien

Maison agréable, très bien située au calme.confortable.Salon séjour un peu sombres mais cela fait aussi le charme de cette vieille maison perigourdine.Meteo un peu médiocre certains jours ,et la fraîcheur se fait vite sentir au sein de la maison.Des couvertures à disposition ont permis de pallier à ce problèmes pour beneficier de nuits confortables.

Family stay in Dordogne

This house was just what our family needed as a base while visiting surrounding sites and villages. Pretty well-equipped kitchen let us relax with simple home-cooked meals, eaten on the patio by the pool. The kids enjoyed the pool a lot. One minor negative - the internet was slow when more than one device at a time was used.

Très belle location...

Nous avons passés un très beau séjour dans cette location idéalement située. Logement propre et grand idéal pour passer des vacances en famille ou entre amis. Au programme des journées baignades dans la piscine, tennis de table.... Commerces accessible à pieds ainsi que la Dordogne. La situation géographique de la location permet d’accéder rapidement à de nombreux site touristique et à Sarlat. N’hésitez pas une seconde !!

We had a wonderful time at the property in Cenac. It is very well situated - easy walking distance to two boulangeries and the supermarket. There are pleasant walks to the river (easy) and to Domme (steep). Thanks to our host Cedric who was helpful and attentive throughout our stay.

superbe location au coeur de la dordogne

superbe location idéalement située au sud de sarlat (15 min voiture) , 5 min de Domme et au centre dessuperbes villages voisins. Location périgourdine typique très spacieuse, parfaitement équipée, très fraiche grâce à ses épais murs de pierre malgré les températures extérieures parfois nettement supérieures à 30° , équipement complet, déco de goût, magnifique et spacieuse salle de bains avec grande douche à l'italienne et baignoire spa, la tv dans les chambres, une grande piscine nickel, chaude et ensoleillée jusque 20 H ! (rare), une propriété au coeur du charmant village de Cénac au calme absolu qui mérite d'être mentionné, pas de vis à vis malgré le coeur du village, d'excellents commerces tout proches accessibles à pied , un propriétaire très sympatique , bref une semaine fut insuffisante pour profiter de ce havre de paix. Une valeur sure à réserver les yeux fermés !

Très bonnes vacances

Maison très agréable, idéalement placée ( commerces à proximité, départ de kayak, près de Domme, ...). La maison est au calme dans le village, pas de vis à vis, un grand jardin clos et sécurisé avec le portail. La piscine est super et rien que pour nous, ce qui est très appréciable. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié nos en vacances en famille. Nous étions 9 dans la maison et il y avait de la place pour tout le monde. Nous n'excluons pas le fait de revenir un jour, il y a pleins de sites à visiter tellement la région est belle!

Bonne adresse je recommande et reviendrai surement

Pas de surprise maison conforme au descriptif, en pierre, indépendante, très spacieuse, joliment rafraichie (d'autre amélioration à venir d'après le propriétaire) une annexe effectivement vide. Accueil sympa, piscine privée (où on peut vraiment nager) entretient facile aidé du propriétaire. La piscine est visible de la maison avec une alarme (qui marche!) rassurant pour les familles. Commerces à 100m. Petit plus, la terrasse de la chambre très romantique et un portail électrique pour rentrer dans le jardin pratique pour les courses et les bagages. Coté tourisme bcp de choses à voir autour du village châteaux, grottes, balades pédestre (paysage magnifique), musés, Sarlat et aussi une super descente de la Dordogne en canoës (Départ à 600m, on y est allé à pied!).Petit bémol la maison est dans un charmant petit village et donc pas de champs à perte de vue, mais nous on voulait ça donc...Très bonne adresse je recommande et reviendrai surement.

"Région superbe a découvrir et a redécouvrir" Accueil et gentillesse du propriétaire dés notre arrivée, tjrs de bons conseils pour les endroits a visiter ou les adresses de restos sympas. La maison est typiquement périgourdine, elle est ancienne (a éviter pour les personnes a mobililtées réduites, car les chambres sont a l'étage ), mais fonctionnelle, le propriétaire a commencé a moderniser certaines pièces de la maison. Les extérieurs sont sympas, grande terrasse qui donne sur la cuisine,une grande piscine, grand espace pour garer la voiture en plus du parking qui donne sur la rue.Environnement calme en plein coeur de CENAC avec ses commerces de proximités, entre autre la maison de la noix a la sortie du village. Les villes de DOMME, SARLAT et bien d'autres curiosités a découvrir a proximité, tel que le canoe et la visite des chateaux. PS: Encore un grand merci au propriétaire pour son accueil.
