Waterfront Cottage on Private Lake with Dock

Our neighbors are starting a remodel of their house. Phase 1 is the removal of trees and the installation of a septic tank during the spring and summer of 2025. Phase 2 is the demolition of the old home starting September 2025. The construction of the new home will start in the fall of 2025. I do not know the completion date. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Nestled between oaks and pines along the East-facing shoreline of Big Sandy Pond, our welcoming little cottage beckons the vacation experience, a perfect spot to relax during the summer. Spend your days kayaking, sailing, fishing, or water skiing from your own private dock on the lake. Swim in the crystal clear lake at the beautiful white sand neighborhood beach a mere two-minute walk away.

The 134-acre lake is managed as a catchable trout pond and is annually stocked in the spring and fall with Brook, Brown, and Rainbow trout. Just 15 minutes from Cape Cod and historic Plymouth and only 45 minutes from Boston and Providence, a myriad of activities await you and your family.

Whether you enjoy water sports, or like to golf, shop, eat, or visit the many nearby historic sites and museums, everyone will find something special at Big Sandy Cottage.

Fully furnished cottage with two bedrooms, sleeping loft, and one bath. Sleeps four in the bedrooms, up to two small kids in the loft, and two additional adults on the living room sofa bed.

Large 10' x 30' deck overlooking the lake is perfect for an afternoon barbecue. Large private dock extends 28' into the lake with a 8' x 16' swim platform

Free Wireless Internet, TV, DVD (with movie library), stereo, provisioned kitchen, and all linens are included.

There is even a basement storage room with laundry facilities. Off street parking with room for boat trailer is available.

Cute Lake House

Lovely place to stay for a few days! Lots of games and jigsaw puzzles for older kids/adults. Many beautiful sunrises and sunsets viewed from deck. We had an issue with the water being black/iron smell, notified owners with quick response. Plenty of “extras” available throughout house so just had to buy food. Beds very comfortable! Close to historic Plymouth Center & Cape Cod. Small but quaint. All in all kids loved it.

Family getaway

Absolutely gorgeous cottage by the lake. It was perfect for our family of 6 that doesn’t want to rent 2 hotel rooms with a view of nothing special. Definitely felt like a family cottage rather than just a rental property.

Wonderful relaxing getaway

Wonderful location. Very quiet and peaceful. Sunrises and sunsets are truly amazing. Home is clean and well stocked with anything you would need for a comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Although I stayed in February watching the surmise over the water was still beautiful. The kitchen is well appointed and beds were cozy. If I’m ever back in Cape Cod, I’d stay again!

Cottage had beautiful view and was perfect for our needs. Owner was very friendly and called me when I had a question about the heating/cooling system. Only thing missing was a boat to go fishing in.

Great Getaway

Perfect sized cottage overlooking beautiful pond. Owner was very responsive to questions and easy to work with. We came on a rainy/cold 4 day weekend so didn’t get to enjoy anything but the view. The property is clean and updated. Would definitely recommend and return.

Fantastic house in a gorgeous location

The lake house at Big Sandy Pond was extremely restful and FUN! We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise in the morning, the gorgeous fall leaves, and the kayaking! It was a perfect week, and the house was fully equipped to provide maximum comfort for a perfect vacation. We couldn't be happier!

Best way to start the summer!

Such a nice and relaxing place! The view of the pond is beautiful. The water was easy to get into and very clear, made for fun to float and swim in. The house was super cute and had everything you needed. Most time was spent on the porch or dock by the water! Quiet and friendly neighbors. Definitely would recommend and would love to come back!

We had a great time, the views are awesome....

Just beautiful view in the morning over coffee...location is close to everything. We took the train out of Kingston into Boston to Faneuil Hall, went all over Plymouth, lunch in the Cape, Wareham Cranberry fest....easy to get to all. We love to read in the evening after a long day out & about, Boston Herald, Boston Globe, etc...our only suggestion would a reading light of some kind. Thanks so much for sharing your place !

Quite, serene & clean

Beautiful perch overlooking Big Sandy Pond. All the amenities necessary at hand including a well maintained gas grill. Was pleased to have an adequate and very quiet A/C system during one of the warmer weeks of the early summer season. Owner was quickly responsive to some initial day one questions. Dock at the waters edge in great shape. Only missing wished for extra, would have been a canoe or any means to float upon the pond. All in all a great overall cottage, setting & stay!

Very nice cottage!

Perfect! It was clean upon arrival. Everything you need is provided right down to movies, books, and games. Loved waking up in the morning to the view of the pond and sitting on the spacious deck drinking our coffe. Will definitely stay again. I needed to ask Jeff a couple of questions and he was quick to respond and very accommodating.

Just beautiful

The most perfect cottage for our getaway from the UK - we had unbelievable luck with the weather in April, the most stunning sunrises across the peaceful lake view and a lovely, well equipped , homely base from which to explore both Cape Cod and all that reaches towards Boston. Thank you Jeff and Karyn for being fantastic hosts and sharing your gorgeous home with us. We left a little of our hearts in Massachusetts.

Loved my month on the pond

It was love at first sight as soon as I opened the door. I could immediately feel the stress melt away. The cottage was perfect, charming, welcoming, comfortable. Communication with Jeff was good. Loved the morning sunrises and missing them already. It was the perfect month long stay for me. Thank you so much and I hope to go back!

Big Sandy Pond Cottage

Our family really enjoyed the Big Sandy Pond cottage. The location is excellent. Your right on the water for daily fishing and quick drive to Oncet beach which has a ton of hermit crabs. The Plimouth Plantation and Plymouth rock are a short ride away. We also enjoyed the Cape Code Canal. The Hy-line cruises offer sightseeing cruises. The house was sufficiently stock with dishes, pots and pans. The water was clean and beautiful. Thanks for a great vacation. The Edgar Family

Great Lake house

This was a great lake house for our family to stay in. It seems much bigger than the description says it is. We had 4 adults and 2 kids under 10. All the trees around it made it feel very private. Back deck was perfect for lake views. It’s close to downtown Plymouth, Plymouth Patuext and whale watching. Fishing off the dock was super fun. The water is crystal clear and pretty warm, the kids swam all the time. House was fully stocked with all you'd need. Take advantage of the great weber gas grill while you are there.

What a view!!!

We had such a wonderful time at the lake. The facilities were more comfortable than I had expected. All rooms had air conditioning and each room had its own remote to control the temperature. The dock offered great fishing and a nice perch in order to monitor my children as they swam. Also, a nice place for a glass of wine. Kitchen very well supplied in terms of pots and pans and cutlery. I would return. Beautiful.

Great for day trips. Wonderful morning sun!

The cottage on the lake was perfect for taking day trips to Plymouth, Boston, Lexington/Concord, Cape Cod, and Thomas Land (Edaville Park). It was a great place to come back to after a long day of fun. The view is wonderful in the morning with the sun coming up over the lake. I would defiantly recommend this place if coming to the area for vacation. Works well with kids by having the separate room with twin beds. The dock wasn't out in water as shown in pics, so we couldn't fish off it. I assume because it was brought in for winter. So if wanting to use dock, you may want to ask owner if it will be available for your stay. Owner is very easy to get ahold of if you have any questions. Only reason not giving 5 stars was floors could have been cleaned better. A lot of dog hair on floor and couch.

A Peaceful Haven on Big Sandy Pond

My husband and I spent a delightful week at this cottage, savoring the peace and the gorgeous lakeside location. Big Sandy is one of the Ponds of Plymouth, and the location couldn't be better for access to Cape Cod, Boston, Providence and the historic Plymouth harbor itself. Being by the water has a healing effect, and we felt the stress just falling away as we settled in. The furnishings are homey rather than elegant. The bedrooms could perhaps use a refresh (in one, there are no shades, so the sun wakes you early; in the other, the shades are permanently down, so there's no light). But these are minor quibbles, because the lake view alone is worth the cost! The cottage is set in a lovely, woodsy neighborhood that is perfect for walks. If you have the opportunity to stay here, do take advantage of it! You won't be sorry.
