About this property
La Roubert - Charming property and large swimming pool
All the description is available in french version on request!
La Roubert is located on the edge of a picturesque hamlet. The house, nestled on a field of one hectare and a half with woodland, meadow, and an English garden and a garden of scents, adorned with boxwood. The nearby countryside is hilly, surrounded by vineyards (Gaillac wines), crops and woods. Going up to the North, the region of Aveyron offers spectacular gorges (kayaking, rafting). We are in the heart of a region that is called here the "Golden Triangle" or "The Little Tuscany of France", bounded by the three famous medieval towns that are: Cordes-sur-Ciel (13 km, favorite village of the French in 2014), Gaillac (15 km) and Albi (20 minutes classified as World Heritage by UNESCO). Toulouse is 45 minutes by car. Blagnac airport is 1 hour by car, no change of time. The village of Cahuzac-sur-Vère with all its shops (bank and cash machine, pharmacy, medical house, dentist, food, bakery, florist, hairdresser, is 5 minutes by car.
La Roubert is a very beautiful house of white stones decorated with a double Genoese. A large swimming pool (13 x 6 m), secured by alarm and treated with salt, installed on a hectare and a half of gardens, meadow, and wood will refresh you during your stay. It is a small paradise in this beautiful region of South West France which enjoys the southern sun, green vegetation, renowned gastronomy and bastides (medieval villages). Many music and theater festivals take place during the summer season.
The swimming pool is particularly appreciated for its dimensions, its night lighting, its flowery and wooded frame as well as its wide beach of slabs of limestone. You will have pool games and water aerobics. In addition to the pool, outside the house, facilities such as a ping-pong, a trampoline, a BBQ Weber, etc., allow everyone to have fun and enjoy the place; but also, corners with chairs, deckchairs, hammocks, tables for those preferring contemplative rest.
The interior of the house is bright, warmly decorated, functionally furnished besides the few antique furniture that recall the history of this house. Successive renovations have preserved and enhanced the original character of this 19th century farmhouse.
Inside on the ground floor: - two lounges: - the south side with its old fireplace, television (cd-dvd player / English-language TV decoder / stereo and speakers for music), - The other pool side opening onto a terrace overlooking the park (a Yamaha electronic piano, a djembe enthroned in this summer lounge for musicians). - The kitchen is fully equipped (dishwasher, oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster, Nespresso machine, kettle and small appliances such as blender / electric whisk to facilitate your culinary desires) and opens onto a covered illuminated terrace housing a large table that can accommodate 10 people. - A bathroom with a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a hair dryer. - WIFI and national telephone (international communications surcharge according to rates) are at your disposal. - A table and an iron are stored at the end of the corridor leading to the bathroom. On the floor, 3 double rooms (1 bed 180X200, 2 beds 160X200) and a room with 2 beds (90X190). Two of the bedrooms have en suite shower rooms. There is another shower room for the other two bedrooms, which also has a hair dryer.

We had a wonderful stay. We were two families with teen children staying for 2 weeks. The photos do not do the house and surroundings justice. The house was very comfortable, beautifully decorated with enough space for us all to spread out and do our own thing as well as gather together for meals on the terrace or all lounging by the beautiful pool. It was incredibly hot for the whole two weeks but the house was always cool thanks to the thick stone walls and shutters. The area is known for incredible medieval towns and villages as well as delicious fresh produce found at local markets and farms. We spent most of our days reading, lounging, swimming, and eating. The two weeks went by calmly and we all feel thoroughly refreshed. Isabelle is a wonderful host and very attentive. Thank you !
Isabelle was welcoming, helpful and kind. The old stone house is big, cool and tastefully decorated. We loved the massive garden, hanging out by the pool and playing board games on the shady terrace to escape the heat. Thank you very much! We’ll be back! X
La Roubert was delightful - it more than matched the photos and description. Isabelle was incredibly helpful for our arrival plans and her closest neighbour was on hand to guide us in when we arrived quite late. We loved the pool and the many different eating areas (some became offices).Despite the intense heat the house stayed cool and refreshing. Sadly it was too hot to try any of the walks but did explore many areas and vineyard's. Hope to be back.

The house is well furnished with all mod cons. We corresponded with the owner on some issues in a constructive and friendly manner and she did all she could to assist [NB she is not close by]. The house has a beautiful pool, lovely large garden and two super outside dining areas. Our only reservation was that the kitchen was (relatively) very small in terms of dining space (which one might need in cooler weather) and prep space.
