About this property
Musser Mansion at Linden Hill Historic Estate
Lodging for up to 25 people in the 12,000 square foot historic Musser Mansion (built in 1898), located on the 9-acre Linden Hill Historic Estate. You'll find yourself tucked into the banks of the Mississippi River, just minutes from historic downtown Little Falls.
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to lodge within a time capsule. Harking back to this quaint river-town's lumber era, the 1898 homes are currently cared for by a non-profit dedicated to preserving the estate and keeping the structures a landmark space for local history. The buildings at Linden Hill are listed on the national register for historic places and the two largest homes (aka "the mansions") were designed by Minnesota architect Clarence H. Johnston, whose notable work is also enjoyed at the Glensheen Mansion in Duluth and along Summit Avenue in St. Paul. The estate grounds are covered in hundreds of trees, numerous gardens, historic grape arbors, a riverside gazebo and countless breathless views.
The dark green Weyerhaeuser mansion now serves as the Linden Hill Museum, which runs guided tours on Thursdays through Saturdays, between Memorial Day and Labor Day each year. We are also happy to schedule private tours of the Weyerhaeuser mansion with sufficient advance notice.
The white Musser Mansion is the one you will have the pleasure of calling home for the length of your stay. With a full commercial kitchen and well-furnished butler's pantry, you'll be set to entertain with the best of them. The main floor is perfect for entertaining and hanging out. The lower level boasts a large space which was the OG man-cave in its day; which is now set up as a versatile space ready for your family dinner, movie or game night or for your business meetings! Second and Third floors are a maze bedrooms and bathrooms. The home has a total of 11 bedrooms, 6 full-bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms.
We think you'll love:
The historic nature of the house and it's furnishings.
The beauty of the grounds, gardens and the incredible river views.
Staying in a house with enough space to gather and still have space to have alone time.
Playing games by the fireplace in the lower-level lodge room.
Watching the sun set on the Mississippi river.
Pro tip: Best view from in mansion= river dining room. Outside: the gazebo.
The charm of the whole estate and our small town of Little Falls.
