About this property

Need to get a breath of fresh air? We provide a beach pass to Hunting Island State Park. Our cleaning manager ensures the highest level of cleaning with FDA recommended products.

The cottage is 7 blocks to downtown and the Bay. Restaurants are open for outdoor seating and takeout. The cottage sleeps 5 with 1 queen bed, 1 double bed and 1 twin/sofa bed sleeper.

Our low country cottage is READY for your getaway, from porch rockers to beach towels with a beach pass! It's a scenic 20 minute drive to the beach as well as to Parris Island :-) Perfectly situated between Charleston to the north and Savannah to the South with Bluffton and Hilton Head in between. The cottage has a 24/7 Citadel Security system and ceiling fans installed in all rooms. We are constantly updating!

This 1896 Cottage has been completely renovated in 2018-19! Everything is new and has been carefully planned for your comfort. Open concept with all the modern amenities including granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances: a full size refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking along with a coffee maker and a toaster. High vaulted ceilings in the living room and dining room and plenty of natural light make the cottage feel bright and airy. The dining room table seats 6 easily.

A large MBR has a queen size bed with top of the line mattress and has an ensuite bathroom with full tile walk in shower. The sitting room is available for quiet reading and has a comfy love seat sofa that converts to a twin size bed for an additional guest. There's plenty of room for a crib or playpen.

The second bedroom has a full size bed, 2 side tables, dresser and closet. The second bathroom is located in the hall and has a fully tiled combined shower/tub with a high window for a view while showering.

Other amenities include a tankless water heater so you never run out of hot water. The shady, fenced backyard has a patio set for outdoor dining and a charcoal grill.

We also provide 2 Tommy Bahama backpack beach chairs and a Hunting Island State Park beach pass. In the backyard you’ll find not only a patio set with an umbrella but also a tree swing in a giant magnolia tree.

We have 2 Smart TVs/ROKU; one in the living room and 1 in the sitting room/3rd bedroom w/ sofabed (twin). You can easily stream your Netflix movies using your login as well as other apps. We provide HULU with HBO, Paramount+ and a Netflix account.

The cottage has a wide porch with rocking chairs and side tables for relaxing and reading with a large potted palm, camellias and azaleas .

Awesome Stay at the Sunshine Cottage

This is our second stay at the Sunshine Cottage, but it won't be our last. The Cottage had everything that my husband and I and our friend, needed. It was very pretty, clean and comfortable, and in a perfect location for exploring Beaufort. Halfway between Savannah and Charleston so we were easily able to explore both those cities too. Communication with owner was excellent! I highly recommend this property. You won't be disappointed.

Convenient location to downtown and entertainment

This is a good place for groups of 4 or less. Everything was very clean and everything needed was provided. There are no onsite laundry facilities. Owner was very easy to communicate with and responded very promptly to any questions. I would recommend this house and look forward to staying here again should we return to the area. Very quiet neighborhood.

I have been a public school teacher for 20+ years and currently teach ELA/EC at Hendersonville Middle School in NC. We moved to WNC in 2016 and love living in the mountains. What better than to also find a 2nd home near the ocean. After searching for a cottage in the historic downtown area for 4 years, we found this little gem of a house. We live in the Asheville NC area but wanted a 2nd home near the ocean and walkable to beautiful downtown Beaufort!

Why they chose this property

This cottage was built in 1896 and has been renovated to have all the modern amenties. We love that it has 3 bedrooms and 2 nicely renovated bathrooms. Most of the properties we saw had only 1 bathroom. The high open ceiling when entering the cottage gives it a light and airy space with plenty of room for the living room, dining room and kitchen to have an open concept. The neighbors are great and it's a community where people know and care about their 'family' of neighbors.

What makes this property unique

Our 2+ BR/2 Bath cottage is located in a real neighborhood, one which has a history of neighbor caring for neighbor. You'll find it easy to fit right in, walk everywhere and enjoy the beautiful historic Beaufort downtown.
Since this is our 2nd home, we will be continually upgrading and improving the cottage. I'm a garderner and will be bringing in palm trees as well as native plants to create a relaxing patio and front porch area.

When you stay at our cottage, you become part of a community. Walk or bike to downtown easily. We will make every effort to make your stay a great one! We own other rental properties and have very satisfied tenants/guests.
