Gorgeous bright Riverside Apartments, Zell Mosel, At Hahn Airport bus line

Riverside in a prime position, our delightful apartment house dates from the 1920s and had a complete rebuild in the mid 1990s. Our house is one of the prettiest on the Zell waterfront, featuring flower boxes, slate roof and traditional timber work in the gabled façade. There is a patio adjacent the entry and once inside, a marble staircase leads upstairs.

The house has 5 bright apartments over the 4 floors available for short-term (and long stay) holiday rentals. Décor is white tiled floors, rendered walls and pine ceilings. Furniture is of good quality with plenty of timber.

Studio and both one bedroom River View apartments are of 3+ star standard while the 2 bedroom Balcony apartment is of 4 star standard. All overlook the Mosel.

Facilities include central heating, digital satellite TV, DVD, radio, wifi internet, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Bedding, towels and kitchen linen are provided. Servicing is available weekly at extra charge.

Zell on the Mosel River is a vibrant friendly 'weinstadt' in the midst of Germany's Rhineland - perfect for both short or long stay vacations. Midway along the scenic Mosel between the cities of Trier and Koblenz, Zell is an ideal base in the heart of Europe with much to see locally, regionally - and to points across all Europe thanks to the local Hahn Airport, a major Ryanair hub.

1. Short Stays: Fly into Hahn Airport and catch the 750 shuttle bus signed Zell-Bullay, or take the train to Bullay and catch the local bus (or cab) - or drive to Zell to enjoy our wonderful apartments, the river, the wines and the region. Bring your hiking shoes. Bikes and canoes can be hired. Many more attractions are within a day's touring and the nearby Zellerland regional tourism office is ready to assist in many languages.
Day coach tours offered from Zell from May to October include the local region, Trier, Koblenz, Rhine Gorges, Luxembourg and Paris. Prices are very reasonable.
To explore by bus and rail, you can use two regional networks: the VRM centred on Koblenz including the Rhine Gorges (and Hahn Airport); just to the west the VRT is centred on Trier and extending to Saarburg and the borders of Luxembourg and France. Day tickets are good, especially for groups up to 5 and include the airport bus, ideal if you have a late flight home and spend the last day exploring.

2. Long Stays: For Aussies, NZders, Americans and others from afar with plans to live in and/or explore Europe - our apartments make the ideal base. Nearby Hahn Airport offers flights to 50+ destinations across Europe, mostly on Ryanair. The shuttle bus 750 Hahn Flughafen to Zell - Bullay runs all week, 9 x a day, every 2 hours. Rail is attractive to travel all over Germany and beyond with excellent special fares. Our rates are negotiable for stays over 1 month.

Die buchung über FeWo direckt war eine Katastrophe . Wenn nicht zufällig der Hausverwalter da gewesen wäre hätten wir auf der Straße gesessen da die Buchung von FeWo erst am 17.10 an den Vermieter weitergeleitet wurde . Die Wohnung war OK. Jeder Zeit wieder aber nicht mit FeWo Direkt

We had a great stay. The apartment is very nice and comfortable.

Zell is a beautiful location. The apartment is located accross the street from the Mosel River with a beautiful view. Very comfortable apartment with everything we needed. Lots of stairs to climb, a little hard with our luggage, and not appropriate for elderly people. Our second room had no heating, but we were provided with a portable one on request. It also did not have internet, as the wifi didn't make it to the next room. The caretakers were very nice and we saw them almost every day. All in all it was a pleasant experience. Thank you.

Great week on the Mosel

This was our third visit to the Mosel. We explored towns and castles all week. Zell was the perfect mid-way base for our explorations. The apartment was perfect! We had lots of room to stretch out; since we were traveling with friends, we all had enough space to rest and have a little quiet after a busy sightseeing day. Elsbeth was a wonderful resource for restaurants and added local flavor to our stay. Thank you for a great week.

Outstanding Stay

While the 2 bedroom apartment was not exactly as I envisioned because the 2nd bedroom was outside of the main apartment, it was not a factor. The apartment had everything we needed for our 2 week stay. The apartment was clean, bright and spacious enough for 4 adults. The location was superb. The lady taking care of the building, Elisabeth was incredible. She was a gem. I would highly recommend this apartment and look forward to returning.

Über Pfingsten 2016 waren wir ( meine Frau, meine beiden Mädels und ich ) in Zell. Der Kontakt vorab mit Familie Jackson ist als vorbildlich zu beurteilen- da die Zahlungen international ablaufen, ist eine Kreditkarte sehr hilfreich. Die Wohnung, Objekt-Nr. 1562917, ist, wenn man zu zweit darin eine schöne Zeit verbringen will, absolut in Ordnung. Die Kinder hatten ein zusätzliches Schlafzimmer auf der gleichen Etage, das jedoch kein Fenster hatte- das ist dann doch etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die Hausverwalterin Elsbeth macht einen netten, wenn auch neugierigen Eindruck. Diese beiden kleinen Kritikpunkte können jedoch den positiven Gesamteindruck nicht trüben. Die Wohnung ist wirklich in Ordnung und liegt genial. Der Moselblick zu den Mahlzeiten ist toll, der Straßenlärm hält sich in Grenzen, das w-lan hat eine ausreichende Geschwindigkeit und Zell ist mit seinen nahe liegenden Freizeitmöglichkeiten wirklich eine Reise wert. Alles in Allem also eine klare Empfehlung für Wohnung und Urlaubsort!

Perfect Location

Small but cozy and having two baths and the ability to do some laundry was great! Place was sparkling clean and comfortable, view was beautiful, especially the early mornings. Everything close by and were able to park our rental car right in front of the apartment. Elsbeth was very helpful and went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed. Price is great, whole experience wonderful. Since it is right on the street and on the water there is some traffic noise especially in the early morning, cars and boats but a pair of earplugs took care of that. We even had a small parade go down the street and were able to watch from our windows above, great fun!

A wonderful base for exploring the Mosel

We could not have been happier with the apartment. It was just as described, comfortable, clean, a good size for two people, an easy walk to shops and restaurants and with the bonus of the wonderful view of the Mosel from the bedroom and living area. Ralph, the owner, provided excellent information about the area and Elsbeth, the on-site contact, was welcoming, and generous with her time and help. The area is beautiful and in autumn the early morning mists on the river clear into wonderful sunny days - at least while we were there. There is so much to explore with every village and town along the river having its own character. We even travelled further afield, taking a train to Cologne for a day trip. Zell itself is refreshingly non-touristy so we felt we were experiencing life in a typical wine area... and the wine is well worth tasting. We hope we'll be back to continue our explorations of the area. Thanks, Ralph and Elsbeth, for a wonderful experience.

One of the best!!

We've stayed in many apartments and cottages and this was definitely one of the best, immaculately clean, great location, good facilities and most of all the welcome from Elsbeth, the perfect hostess who was always there to help but never intrusive and a great sense of humour. We stayed in the Mosel balcony which had a wonderful view of the river and surrounds, and as someone who enjoys a glass of wine the view of vineyards from the bathroom was a real bonus! Many thanks!

A great base for a peaceful holiday for two

We stayed at the river view apartment, which is suitable for two. As the name suggests, it has a great view of the Mosel, is in a town which has all the facilities you need and is right in the heart of a great wine-producing area with great scenery. The apartment is compact but has all the facilities you need, is well-maintained and is kept scrupulously clean by Elspeth, who gave us a very warm welcome and couldn't have been more helpful to us. We'd love to stay again if we get the chance!

Brandenburg 46, Zell med udsigt over Mosel

Vi kom til en meget ren og velholdt lejlighed, hvor Elspeth stod klar til at modtage os med nøgle og 1 flaske vin samt information om det nære område. Vi var meget glade for den lille balcon, som vi benyttede hver eftermiddag. Zell er en hyggelig lille by med restauranter. Stedet er også et godt udgangspunkt for ture både nord og syd om Mosel. Vi kan anbefale en tur til Marienburg udsigtspunkt, her er en storslået udsigt. Elspeth ydede en rigtig god service, sørgede i det hele taget for, at vi havde rene håndklæder og hvad vi ellers havde brug for. Hun var også altid imødekommende med information om ture omkring Zell. Vi vil gerne anbefale denne lejlighed til venner og bekendte. Vi havde også en god dialog med Ralph Jackson, inden vi bestemte os for denne lejlighed, det virker betryggende, når udlejer hurtigt svarer på mails. Endvidere var rigtig hyggeligt, at Ralph var på ferie de sidste dage, vi var i lejligheden. Håber at vende tilbage en anden gang.

Perfect place to stay with fantastic views.

We were two couples who were trouring Germany on motorcycles. We spent 5 days in the house. The whole house was immaculately clean. The furnishings and decor were 10 out of 10. The view of the river from the balcony was just perfect...and was the loction to town less than 2 minutes walk away, access to the bus stop, boat trips and cycle hire literally minutes away. The shops, bars and restaurants are all really pretty and very welcoming. The cost of food and drink was very reasonable from the larger supermarkets and likewise also from theshops and restaurants in town. We would recommend a train trips to Koblenz and Luxembourg for the day. Both trips by train are very cheap and special 5 adult day tickets are a very good buy. Cycle Hire in Town is very good value and the cycle tracks of perfect and safe and easy for even the most in frequent cycle riders. We will most certainly return. Diane and Steve

We the owners, Ralph and Olga, live in Australia. In December 2019 we welcome Gunter and Analiza to the role of house managers. They live nearby and are fluent in German and English. We were pleased to discover and purchase this apartment house in 2009. We visit once or twice a year.
We also run bike rides in Australia (Outbike) and small group charter tours.

Why they chose this property

We came up with an idea for long-stay rentals in beautiful places close to hub airports for low-cost carriers. We thought this would suit travellers from far places such as Australia and NZ, giving them a home-base in a perfect location, with lots to do regionally and all Europe at their convenience.

We couldn't find a more perfect location than Zell on the Mosel River in the heart of Rhineland and nearby Hahn Airport, Ryanair's #1 hub in Europe.

Our property was just about to come on to the market when we heard about it. One of the prettiest on Zell's waterfront, in wonderful condition and with 5 attractive self-contained apartments we thought it ideal to test the idea and snapped it up.

What makes this property unique

The whole combination of our house, the town and people of Zell, the history and traditions, the wine making, the Mosel River, the scenery of Zellerland, Rhineland and nearby Rhine Gorges, Germany, near neighbours France, Luxembourg, Belgium and Netherlands - and easy access by rail and low-cost air to the rest of Europe make My Europe Base not just another holiday rental but a unique way to experience Europe, particularly for those of us from afar, more used to carrying a month's luggage on strict schedules and paying a fortune to do it!
