In the heart of Downtown New Braunfels. Walk to 14 restaurants within 4 blocks. The Pour Haus bar and music venue is right around the corner. Enjoy your coffee watching the sunrise on the wide front porch. During the day, take a stroll through the streets of downtown where there is plenty of shopping, bowling and pool tables to keep you entertained. Grab a drink and bowl a game or two at the Downtown Social right around the corner or sit back and relax listening to local musicians at the Pour Haus. Float the Comal River - 3 blocks away. Visit the Railroad Museum or check out the live performance events at the Brauntex Theater. Play golf on the Landa Park course. Ride the Landa Park mini-train. Play mini-golf at Landa Park. Shop at the outlets in San Marco. Visit the Alamo in San Antonio. Visit the site of the former Pearl Brewery in San Antonio where you will find restaurants, hotels and shops. Take the river tour in San Antonio. Visit Austin, tour the capitol building. Go to Antone's for music in Austin.
Austin is one hour when it is not rush hour. San Antonio is 30 minutes when it is not rush hour. Pack n Play.

There are 4 large bedrooms and 2 full baths. There are three king beds and 2 bunk beds with a full bed below and a twin on top of each. Also, an eat-in kitchen and large living area to relax in after a day on the river. The backyard offers plenty of space to sit out and play games. This house is perfect for large families or groups!


There is tons of music within a 5-minute walk. Visit the Pour Haus, Phoenix Saloon, Krauses, Black Whale Pub, Watering Hole, Krause German beer hall, Downtown Social. Moonshine and Ale piano bar is live on Thursday-Saturday. These are all one to two blocks from the house.

Go out to Canyon Lake (a 20 minute drive). Go boating, jet skiing, water skiing. Hike the gorge at Canyon Lake. Go fishing. Walk across the Canyon damn.

Go fly fishing on the Guadalupe River in Gruene. Hire a fishing guide at Gruene River Outfitters.

Perfect.

After losing our 12 year old daughter from complications to cancer. We were in search of a nice one night stay with our family of now 5, and a few friends! This house was the perfect place. Location was perfect, house was beautiful! We will be booking in the future. The little kids even had fun thinking they stayed in a life-sized doll house!

Really nice house, lots of space for 11 of us. Super convenient and near everything. If you do stay, the pizza rolls at Calahan's Pub and Pizza are a must try ( The pub and staff are great too ).

We had a great time at this house. Beds are comfortable, house was clean, hostess was accommodating and house was stocked. The only wish I had was that the sitting area had a little more comfortable seating.

The house was so cute, clean, and neatly laid out for privacy and function. The front porch is perfect for relaxing and socializing, and the location is ideal for walking around downtown. Highly recommend and will stay again if anywhere near the area!

We loved our stay on the property. The house has been beautifully redone. The house is fully stocked - keurig, plates, bedding, games, etc. The property manager is super wonderful and lives close by. The house is right off the town sqaure and in walking distance to EVERYTHING! Would absolutely recommend this place.

Awesome!

Perfect house for our party of 10 in the perfect location to float the Comal river. The house was clean & well kept. We cooked in which was no problem since the kitchen is well stocked. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone headed to New Braunfels! We has a wonderful time!

Belle is Beautiful

The property is immaculate and has been restored to 19th century design and appearance, a true piece of New Braunfels history. Leslie makes check in and out a breeze and the home had all the amenities you might require during your stay. The property is located one block from central New Braunfels and has immediate access to bakeries and diners and is roughly a quarter mile to the Comal River and parks making it perfect for summer time activities. Unfortunately there are train tracks nearby that were busier than anticipated and a noisy bar one block to the east which played live music easily heard from the front two bedrooms.This may not be a deal breaker for some visitors but it was inconvenient for us.

Unique Stay

We stayed with our family of 10. Having 3 king size beds was a big selling point for us while the kids having 2 awesome bunk beds in the back bedroom was a huge plus. We were in town for a family wedding and getting to and from everything was easy enough. We all had sound machines and this helped with the music from the place close by but we did however still hear the train. They aren’t supposed to blow the horn through the night but someone forgot to tell the engineers our first night This house is adorable with anything you could imagine you might need. Very spacious bathrooms and bedrooms. It was equipped with some infant items that were nice to have and we even could’ve left our pack n play at home. The house is with-in walking distance to some super cute shops and little bakeries. The additional parking in the back was nice since we had three vehicles.

Great house in a perfect location

Pros: 1. Large bedrooms. Each could be a master. 2. Very clean and taken care of. 3. Great location. Walking distance to bars and restaurants. 4. Lots of parking behind the house. 5. Cool front porch to hang out on. Cons 1. Could hear a bars music from the house. Might not be so great if you go to bed early, idk. Great backdrop music for hanging out on the porch though. We enjoyed it. 2. No cable TV. All preloaded internet based TV channels so we couldn't watch the game on CBS for instance. 3. After paying for the house, we received a message saying we now needed to pay an additional fee that was not included in the total. Here is the quote: "VRBO collected the state hotel tax from you. We are required by law to collect the city hotel tax of 7%." Conclusion: We were annoyed with the fact that the additional 7% fee was not noted in the description. Its not the money, its the fact that it was brought up after we already paid what we thought was the total. That was even more annoying than not getting local channels to watch the game. On the positive side, we all loved the house and location. We'll be back in town next year for the same BBQ competition and have already decided to rent the same house again.

Tom and I are native Texans, he is from Hurst outside of Ft. Worth, and I am from Baytown, an oil town outside of Houston. We both graduated from UT in Finance. We moved up to NYC chasing careers and spent 34 years in New York. We returned to Texas in 2013 and settled in New Braunfels. Leslie grew up coming to New Braunfels and swimming in the river. It is a dream come true to be able to live here.

Why they chose this property

This home is a beauty built in 1896 by the same craftsman that built our house in the next block. The ceilings are 12 ft high. The longleaf pine wood floors are restored, and we added a full bath and renovated the older bath. We enjoy returning houses to their former glory.
The house is 1,684 square feet. The rooms are spacious and charming. See our other VRBO houses at #699578 and #1335934.

MOBILITY: Enter via the back door if you want to avoid stairs. Coming in the back door, there is one step up inside the house. The front entrance has two steps up at the street and then three steps up to enter the house.

This Victorian house is a beauty. All restored. Large rooms, king beds. High ceilings.
Shopping, eating, and listening to music are all right outside your door. Walk to all.
This is the best location in downtown. We send you the restaurant list once you book. The Comal River is a 5-minute walk. Floating the river is a must-do.
