About this property

Private luxury waterfront home

With uninterrupted and unequaled coastal views, this home is a haven of tranquility. It sits on a special stretch of the Connecticut coast, with spectacular bird and wild life-watching year-round. Enjoy great shopping in Guilford's boutiques around the historic town green. On chilly nights, you can light the fire in the great room and watch the sun set over the water, then hit the hot tub for some star gazing. A slice of pure heaven.

The space
On top of the many bedrooms, there are 3 sitting rooms (two with fire places) and a large deck leading to the pool and hot tub, providing plenty of space for people to relax. The large kitchen has a microwave, wine fridge, ice machine, gas stove and kitchen table with incredible coastal views. A Deluxe Weber propane grill can also be found on the screened in porch.

Guest access
All rooms that are open are accessible. A large cupboard of children's toys is situated in the TV room for anyone to enjoy.

Interaction with guests
We provide a house keeper twice a week to give the house a clean and make sure you have everything you need.

We can offer a pack and play and high chair and have a blow up bed should you want to fit in one more guest.

Other things to note:
The house is seasonally spectacular. Over the July 4th holiday watch the fireworks over the water all along Long Island and all along the CT shoreline from the comfort of the master balcony. It is a night like no other!

Just a 5 minute walk from the house you'll find a beautiful peninsula to dip your feet in the sea and a beach go clamming off or explore for shells.

Beautiful in pictures, better in person and process

First off, the process of renting this home is a dream. The owners are exceptionally thoughtful and thorough in making sure your stay is great. My extended family, ranging from 10 month old twins to 84 year olds, all both fit perfectly and were well accommodated. Given this was a COVID vacation we wanted a little extra space and the layout of the house and guest house provided that. The house is immaculately maintained, the view is incredible, and you have complete privacy given the location, on a rocky spur surrounded by nature (you can see hawks carrying back fish, woodchucks, etc. No need to binoculars!) Guilford is a surprisingly nice town and all the recommendations the owners provided were both 1) great and 2) matched a list provided by a close friend who grew up in Guilford, which again I think speaks to the care that went into planning by the owners. If you are reading this, you, like me, want a house with privacy, near the water, and enough space to accommodate a large-ish party on the CT coast. You look at the pictures and want to read the reviews to see if it lives up to the hype. It does.

Spectacular house and property

Our extended family (grandparents, parents and infants) had a wonderful time. The house is a beautiful contemporary that is well described in the material and pictures. The pool was the high light for the kids. The adults loved the incredible natural setting on the. edge of a marsh that afforded wildlife sightings (osprey, herons, cormorants, deer, wood chuck, rabbits etc.) every day. The landscaping around the pool is also attractive. We'd all love to go back.

My husband and i found this house 3 years ago and instantly fell in love! We moved here from the UK. I'm a former fashion designer turned interior designer and my husband teaches at Yale. We have 3 children who love living by the sea!

Why they chose this property

This property is completely unique to the Connecticut coastline. The views come rain or shine are spectacular and it's impossible not to feel relaxed in this home! We love it so much and we love sharing it in the summer months when we travel!

What makes this property unique

The hot tub is a major attraction, as is the heated swimming pool with lap lane. The children spend all day in it in the summer! Our hot tub is heated year round for all to enjoy. Beaches near by are amazing and the cafes and friendly towns of Madison and Guilford are a huge draw.
