As always, we had a wonderful stay at the Sunshine Shack. The house truly feels like a home away from home. It is always clean and stocked as described. Check in/out is easy. The location is perfect for us. Rich is always quick to respond. Anytime we plan a trip to the UP, the Sunshine Shack is always the first place we look for. We already booked our next stay!
The house was an excellent location for visiting UP, and it was conveniently close to a town with a grocery store. A pool table in the basement was a plus. We played pickleball at the park across the street too.
I rented the Sunshine Shack for a long weekend of introducing my 2 exchange students to one of my favorite parts of the USA. It was exactly what I expected: comfortable, clean, and easy to find. The kids enjoyed our evening campfire, playing pool, and Hedbandz. The nearby IGA was convenient for picking up the few items we forgot to bring. Tahquemenon Falls was an easy daytrip, as were Pictured Rocks and Marquette.
Our family had a great time staying at the sunshine shack! Lots of room, never felt like we were on top of each other. The basement game area was great for our teens and adults. Extra fridge in the garage made storing everyone’s food simple. The park across the street was great for the younger kids and a family game of kickball. Just one wish would be for a second bathroom but did not ruin our stay at all. We would definitely stay again!
The property was extremely clean and in a convenient location for all of our adventures for the weekend! Loved the place looking to stay again in the future.
Set up nice for snowmobiling. Really appreciated the use of the garage for our sleds. Plenty of parking for our trailers. House was clean and comfortable.
Property is absolutely amazing! Close to town and area attractions, yet your own little slice of heaven. A 5 star experience, would definetly stay again and highly recommend to anyone spending time in "Gods country"!
The house was very clean and comfortable, and a great location for seeing many of the UP popular spots. The owners were super helpful and kind when we had questions.
Very nice and clean with everything we needed for our stay. Perhaps update the television, but we really weren't there for that. Over all, there is plenty of room for our visit with family in the area.
We had a great stay. It was close to town and places we were going to. There was plenty of room for us and our gear. The shack was neat and clean and had plenty of linens, towels and bedding. We wish we had booked it for a couple additional nights. Phones and wi-fi worked well. Great communication with the hosts.
We hope to stay here again on future adventures.
We actually looked forward to coming back after a day of activities and sight-seeing. It was a relaxing environment and the kids loved using the pool table. We didn't once find ourselves saying "I wish they had..." - everything we needed was there. My kids especially loved the sign left next to the back door of the garage. LOL
We booked this home to use as a jumping off point for exploring the Central/Eastern U.P. It was perfect, nice and centrally located. House was very clean. Portable A/C unit helped a lot. House was very well-stocked. Communication with owner was great.
My three boys, my brother and I stayed at this property for our 5-day vacation. This place was centrally located for all the places we visited. Oswald's Bear Ranch, Tahquamenon Falls, Kitchi-iti-Kipi, and Pictured Rocks.
Along with being a great location, this house is exceptionally clean and spacious. My boys really enjoyed the pool table in the basement. The property also has a huge back yard and a nice set up for a bonfire, but we unfortunately never had a chance to use due to coming back late from our adventures.
I also would like to note that the owners were in great communication. Really nice people!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Communication, location
They need to review some of their requirement
House clean and nicely decorated...beds were cheap..poor mattresses, TV really sucked couldn't watch any of the basketball games..
If we are paying for services...why are we stripping beds and picking up towels and cleaning kitchen and taking out our trash..
???
Would not recommend this property again
Centrally located for all our activities planned. Clean and quiet.
