Waterfront Apartment on a quiet lake. Pet Friendly!

A quiet retreat in the woods, on the shore of Ames Lake. Watch eagles and osprey with your morning coffee. Relax in the hot tub. Toast marshmallows over a fire in the fire pit next to the lake.

This cozy getaway is the 2000-square-foot downstairs apartment in a very large house, which our family has lived in for nearly 60 years. It's a self-contained unit, with a full, well-supplied kitchen, laundry facilities, very comfortable beds, privacy and quiet.

Close to Redmond, Seattle and the mountains, you'll find destination Mountain Bike trails just up the road, excellent restaurants a quick drive away, and one of King County's most pristine lakes just down the stairs.

Guests love this place for how immersed it is in nature, for the close feel of magic, and because the lake is very beautiful and fun. This is the only property we own. We're a family, not a corporation renting out hundreds of homes. If what you're looking for is sleek, modern, 5-star-hotel perfection, that's some other VRBO.

Pets welcome. No smoking.

Loved this charming house by the lake. The area is so beautiful and we were blessed with the perfect weather while here so swimming in the lake was a dream.The Vrbo was nicely supplied with plenty of towels, anything you could need in the kitchen, including condiments in the fridge and even some pantry items. The beds were also very comfortable. If you're thinking about booking here, do it you won't regret it. Do note that the apartment above also gets rented out so the dock is shared space. That was no issue for us as the other guests were lovely and respectful of sharing time down at the firepit and lake with us.

Great location right on the lake. The house is somewhat dated as others have mentioned but we felt it added to the charm. We stayed in the basement unit and, as others have mentioned, it does have a smell to it but it's not bad. I wasn't aware that the dock, kayaks, etc. as well as the hot tub are shared with other guests. We didn't have any problems with being able to use anything. There is a large dog that is off leash but the owners worked out a schedule with us so it wasn't a problem. His name is Buck and he is SUPER nice. Overall we had a nice time.

The setting of this basement apartment was truly beautiful. Our host Kim was very responsive and accommodating. We had everything we needed and found the bed to be quite comfortable. We really appreciated the pet friendly policy, with our dog Macy loving playtime with Buck. We would definitely stay here again!

The place was super outdated.. the hot tub had an orange muck around the waterline and it smelled like farts. And she doesn’t mention it’s a house with split rentals. There was someone else staying and playing the piano late night. Then the next morning someone’s scary dog was watching my kids from the window growling. That was unsettling. And the doors don’t lock in the garage area connected to my rental. Beginning of every scary movie. No thanks, never again.

It's a beautiful lake and you can really relax here. Other reviews are accurate and this property can be described as a "classic lake home." The beds were very comfortable and our simple requirements of a bbq and a fire pit by the lake were very well met. Kim answered all questions very quickly. Great host...and a nice puppy.

Summer fun on Ames Lake

We wanted a private PNW lake getaway and we found it! We swam, sat by the fire pit, paddleboarded, fished and tooled around in our electric boat while totally decompressing. If you want fancy or modern, this is not your place. If you want a quiet place with no frillls and an awesome lake front stay, here it is.

Ill give it a generous 4. The hot tub sits in what sits like an unfinished garage. With a skewed view of the lake. The apartment is old but had nice features. Like the electric woodstove. Most parts of the apartment are old. The bathroom and bedroom were slightly underwhelming. The chickens were friendly and interesting. It wasnt a 400 a night place in my opinion.. but it was very clean and well represented by the owner. And she was extremely kind and accommodating with check out. Also there is people above the apartment so take into consideration. Overall it was a great stay. Take for granted for feature stayers.. my bmw barely fit in the driveway! 2015 435i

Great location on the lake and well located for the wedding we were attending in Monroe. Reasonably well equipped kitchen. For 4 or more only 1 bathroom can lead to a queue but it’s hardly a major issue. 6 nights. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
