We enjoyed our one night stay in Half Moon Bay. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. The deck was very nice and privateVery convenient t location to Santa Cruz and SFO.Recommend!
We had an amazing stay! Perfect for what we needed and very close to everything in Half Moon Bay. Matt and Guliz were very responsive and friendly. We would absolutely stay again.
Needed a short getaway to decompress. My autistic son came with me. This place is like a warm hug! There are great things in small packages! We will be back!
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable space which is walking distance from the beach. We would definitely stay here again when we visit Half Moon Bay.
Beautiful small cottage, perfect place to relax and recharge, walking distance to Poplar beach, a beautiful dog friendly beach. I stayed with my 2 little dogs. They really enjoyed the backyard too. Owners replied to my questions right away. I’m planning to go back soon with a couple of friends.
Really enjoyed our stay here! A lot of areas to visit. Very dog friendly. Our pups were very comfortable with a nice safe yard for them. Limited seating but we made it work. TV trays might have been nice as there was no where to eat a meal. In better weather the table outside would have been great. Well appointed with everything you need to be comfortable.Fun quirky little studio size unit.
Property was undergoing some construction upon arrival immedietely next to our shared wall of the unit making the first two hours rather unpleasant with loud cutting and banging. Wish the property owner had simply disclosed this as it was an unwelcomed surprise after a long day of travel. Otherwise our stay was fine. Unit has everything you need but the shower is too small and cracked in a few places and the shower head needs to be replaced
Sweet and comfortable little cottage. Perfect for a couple. Loved the peaceful decor and airy feel. We didn’t use the upstairs loft with just two of us, but it would have worked well if we brought children or grandchildren. Very pet friendly— dog bed, water dish, and dog towels provided. Having a private deck and private fenced yard set it apart from a hotel room. Lovely landscaping. The owners live next door but other than a very pleasant casual conversation when we crossed paths in the driveway, we didn’t see another soul. Would definitely return.
Cozy is an accurate word to describe this cottage. Hosts were very clear in the description that this space is for a small family or couples that are very comfortable with it all being one space. But it was just myself and my husband and we really enjoyed our stay here. There are a few things that would make it more comfortable like a table inside to eat or play games but there really is no room for that. Bed was very comfortable and kitchenette was well stocked. We enjoyed the fact that it is so close to the coastal trail, easily walking distance but great with bikes. The patio area is private and cute. There could be a few improvements but all in all it works. We would definitely return.
We live only a little over an hour away but coming to HMB for a weekend feels like a true getaway. We chose this house because it was in a quiet neighborhood and dog friendly. We were not disappointed! The hosts make this spot so special with coastal decor and everything there to make our stay comfortable including a stocked kitchen and plenty of linens. Morning coffee on the private patio was perfect. Parking is easy and a short walk to the beach. Main St is really close - across HWY 1 and just up the road a bit. I really appreciated the small kitchenette. And plenty of beach towels there for our use if we needed them. Our pup was super comfortable and enjoyed sitting on the patio with us. We would absolutely stay here again and will tell our friends.
Nice small little stop off spot for us on our travels. Place was clean, tidy, bed was comfy, had nice little spot to sit outside. Parking was easy right on street. Very pleased. Thank you!
Great and cosy surfers cottage...my son and I were in HMB to attend a wedding.

The “cottage” is cute and ok for a couple nights. It is not as close to the ocean as we thought. They made the most use out of a 300 square foot space. We would have added a star, but both nights were very rough. There was a bright motion light that went off a couple times at night and lit up the whole place and kept us up. What was more upsetting was the loft area. There was scratching noises on the roof the entire night. We think rats, but were told maybe baby raccoons? Either way they scratched all night and if we didn’t have a loud sound machine going, it would have been impossible to sleep. I would not stay there again.
This was such a lovely stay, near the beach. We loved the feel of the beachy space, indoor and on the back patio. Puppy had a great little fenced in place to play. We were able to cook a couple meals- the hosts were fantastic, responding to unique requests! What a dream. We had a memorable 30 year wedding anniversary here! Highly recommend.
We had a very nice stay. It's a cozy place with a great patio with lovely landscaping. We spent a lot of time out there. It feels very private. The photos of the property are accurate except for a few minor changes (different chair, lamp etc.) The property is close to downtown Half Moon, easy to get to and in a quiet neighborhood. Thank you to our hosts. We would defintely stay again!
My first time staying in a VRBO. I stayed two nights so I could explore the beaches. I had so much fun. First, it's in a nice neighborhood where parking was very easy. Separate entry into the cottage. It was very private, quiet and set up really cute. I read all the reviews, and so I brought my own small Keurig and coffee pods. I do this anyway when I travel. There is a sink, a toilet, a shower, also a kitchen area, a small fridge and TV. The one complaint, petty, one ply TP. Don't laugh, you use so much more. Shower head could be made smaller to get better water flow but was not an issue for me. TV was fine with a Roku. I always bring my passwords for Hulu, Netflix and so that was fine. I had some issues with the heat. The remote was really hard for me to figure out. I probably spent more time trying to get it right without wasting energy but I did follow directions with the fan so the heat would stay downstairs. A table would have been nice so I used the end table as my table. It was raining the first day so I could not use the outside table. I had such a relaxing few days and would stay here again. So much fun! Thank you
We are a family of three with a cat, a dog, and chickens. We foster feral kittens and welcome all four legged friends. Our passion in addition to travel, love of nature, rock and mushroom hunting, and hiking is our community. Over the years, we built a strong community here in Half Moon Bay, which provides us an abundance of love, safety, joy, and friendship. We are proud and honored to share it with you.
