5-star gîte with private pool at Pigeonnier d'En Barreau

Located between Toulouse (30mn) and Albi (30mn), close to Gaillac (15mn), with easy access (5mn) by the Pastel highway (A68 - exit 6 or 7), Pigeonnier d'En Barreau The owner's Toulousaine, is an authentic 19th century Gaillac pigeon house. Its 130m2 entirely renovated, in the middle of a park of 13. 000m2, accomodate 8 people in an optimal comfort.
The Pigeonnier is bordered by a large wooden terrace, suitable for moments of conviviality and meal "plancha" outside.
Behind the centenary cedars, you will find the swimming pool (for the exclusive use of the tenants) with its pergola, wooden terrace and pool-house.
The 4 bedrooms each have a bathroom / shower and a toilet. The bedding, of quality hotel (memory), is modular: 2 beds 160 * 200 and 4 beds of 90 * 200 can be paired in 2 Queen size of 180 * 200.
Two stays are distributed on each side of the equipped kitchen, each with its audio equipment, TV and Wi-Fi.
A parking (4 places) is reserved for the tenants.
Many tourist activities are nearby: historic sites (Albi, Toulouse, Gaillac, Lavaur and all Albigensian country houses), oenological (Gaillac wines, Côtes du Tarn), gastronomic (regional producers, markets, restaurants) or sports 3 golf courses 18 holes, circuit of Albi, hiking, addicted branch, leisure base Ludolac ...).

Very peaceful stay in countryside

Lovely place. Accomodation is on owners grounds but we never met them apart form at start and end. Lovely pool and amazing chill out area out of the baking sun with table tennis table and gas BBQ. Lovely local restauarant and Bakery a ten min walk.

A Lovely Stay

We had a great holiday at Le Pigeonnier. Richard and Isabelle were good hosts, helpful and responsive but not obtrusive. The property is set in beautiful grounds in a delightful village but with larger towns and cities easily accessible. The covered outdoor area was a tremendous asset as it meant we could spend as long as we wanted outside, even during some very heavy rainstorms! All in all, a delightful holiday.

Nous avons passé une tres bonne semaine avec nos 5 enfants. Entre piscine, parties de ping pong et de freezbee, petit dej et aperos en terrasse, notre sejour a ete tres agreable. Nous avons trouvé tout le nécessaire dans le gite pour nous facilier la vie.

Wonderful, peaceful Gite with impressive, beautiful gardens.

We had an amazing stay at Le Pigeonnier. The outdoor space and gardens were beautifully kept and large enough for our 3 boys to roam and enjoy. The table tennis and the pool were a huge hit too and we spent most of our 2 week stay by the pool. The Gite has everything you need and stays remarkable cool in the August heat. Richard, Isabelle and their daughter Carla were the perfect hosts, easily available if needed and otherwise very discreet. We would thoroughly recommend a stay! We'll definitely be back!

Gorgeous property in beautiful area.

Fabulous house with a bathroom for every bedroom. Very well equipped kitchen. A beautiful garden which is enormous with plenty of space. Lovely pool and sunbathing deck which gets the sun all day. The village has an excellent boulangerie and fantastic restaurant both within easy walking distance. We all had an amazing holiday and couldn’t recommend the house more highly!

Nous avons passé un magnifique week-end entre amis après avoir été très bien accueillis par nos hôtes. L’immense jardin est magnifique, la maison est idéalement équipée et offre de multiples possibilités pour se retrouver à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur. La literie est de qualité. Nous avons pu profiter un maximum de la piscine. Seul regret, ne pas pouvoir prolonger ce week-end pour profiter de toutes les activités possibles… Nous reviendrons sûrement !

Une séjour idéal

Très beau gîte, au calme et dans un cadre superbe. Isabelle & Richard vous accueille chaleureusement. La maison est très bien agencée avec 8 vrai places pour dormir pour des adultes. Les matelas et matériaux sont de très bonnes qualités. La piscine est sécurisée et privative. Le parc est grand et magnifique. Seule petite ombre, la terrasse donne sur l'entrée de la maison des propriétaires mais ils sont très discret et ne font que passer.

Wij hebben een week genoten van het prachtige vakantiehuis van Richard en Isabelle. Het huis is vrij nieuw, modern ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. Fijn zwembad met heerlijk schoon water. Grote tuin. Prettige eigenaar die goede informatie gaf over wat er in de buurt allemaal te zien is. Verstrekte ons een kaart met te bezoeken stadjes. Prachtige omgeving die veel weg heeft van Toscane. Als we in buurt zijn gaan we zeker hier weer naar toe!

Lovely gite in a fantastically peaceful village

The Pigeonnier has been beautifully developed and offers a very comfortable place to stay, the main bedroom in the tower is a particular highlight. The fact that there are four en suites is also very useful feature that should not be underestimated. It is clear plenty of consideration and effort has gone into the development. Between relaxing on the decking and by the pool and visiting nearby attractions we spent very little time inside. That being said there are two separate living room and both were very comfortable. The garden is vast with plenty of space for kids to play and the pool is in a great location, catching the sun all day. The location itself is very peaceful and if you're looking to relax and switch off look no further. You can enjoy lovely views of the sunrise, and particularly the sunset, in peace. However, you are certainly not completely cut off and it is very easy to get to nearby towns such as Toulouse, Albi and Carcassone. If you are not familiar with the area Richard and Isabelle are very welcoming and very helpful, providing plenty of information about things to do / places to visit and eat. We loved our stay here and wished we'd stayed for longer, 1 week was certainly not enough. Thank you Richard and Isabelle

Great family stay in a delightful dovecote which has been developed with care , style and detail

The house sits in beautiful grounds with a pool for all the family. Sleeps 6-8 with comfort with all the needs for children. The house layout allows quite time if needed, and the opportunity for family meals etc around big tables followed by long walks through farmland next to the house. The detail with table tennis, badminton etc markets the difference..... 35 mins from Toulouse airport with local villages with great restaurants and markets... why look further?

Beautiful gite, lovely countryside, delightful hosts

Having holidayed in France over more than 25 years, we’d rate this as one of the best gites we’ve ever stayed in. This beautiful conversion of an old pigeon house provides clean, stylish and comfortable rooms and the owners have tried to think of everything to make one’s stay more pleasant and convenient. We especially liked the plancha (gas griddle) – a new experience for us and now we want one too! The pool is also excellent – at the end of the garden, with its own terrace and toilet and with pathway lighting for those evening dips. Isabelle, Richard and family are very welcoming, helpful without being intrusive and have excellent English, though will speak French if you prefer. Having usually chosen properties that were completely independent, this experience of having the owners nearby has converted us. There is lots to do in the area for a wide range of ages and interests. A good restaurant is within walking distance in the village, as are a boulangerie (unfortunately closed during our stay) and the “petit train touristique” – worth an enjoyable, short trip to lovely nearby gardens. Overlooking fields with glorious sunsets makes for a peaceful and perfect setting. Definitely - and exceptionally - somewhere we look forward to returning to.
