Darling little cabin right on the Feather River. The back yard is bordered by a deep, wide portion of the river. The back deck features stunning views of the river with nothing but national forest on the opposite bank. Wake up in the morning and enjoy your coffee while watching the geese and myriad ducks on the river. The local Bald Eagle may fly by and occasionally otters and beavers appear. Private, yet right down the road from Plumas golf course in a quaint little neighborhood of old-school cabins. This family cabin has been lovingly decorated with the owner's personal antiques, rugs and art, collected during years of living in Europe and the Middle East. The living and dining area maximizes living space, with a sliding patio door and 8 foot window looking out at the river and forest. The open kitchen has everything you need for cooking: high quality pots and pans, as well as pantry essentials like coffee, flour, sugar, canned goods, etc. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, sitting area and ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed. The guest bath has a shower and new washer and dryer. The backyard is fenced with fully furnished deck space. One garage space available with Type 2 EV charger for your electric car and ample driveway parking. Children and dogs accompanied by well-behaved adults who clean up after them are welcome!

This is a lovely two bedroom house on the Feather River. It has a wonderful deck and large fenced yard overlooking the river. Very peaceful and a great neighborhood to walk.
Stayed 8 days with my pups for Christmas. Very quiet neighborhood with deer and turkey wandering through. Nice secure yard for small-medium dogs. We had a great time and would definitely recommend for a small group with or without pets.
This was our third visit to Cheryl’s house on the river. We had a wonderful time as always. We can’t get enough of the river view! The house is very well stocked. And cozy. And the Graeagle store is so close. Head there on Wednesday for fresh salmon and try their sausages. Also try Little Bite in Blairsden for lunch or dinner. So looking forwrd to our next visit.
It was a wonderful stay. The space is very welcoming and easy to live in. Cheryl has lots of really helpful items stocked. The whole house was impeccably clean. I'm looking forward to staying here again.
Lovely house in the Feather River, very comfortable & well stocked. Fully fenced yard was perfect for the dogs. Safe forested neighborhood was excellent for walking. And big bonus were several wonderful restaurants close by.
Very nice house in a quiet neighborhood. It was very relaxing sitting on the back porch looking at the river and different wildlife going by.
We had a great week here.
Great choice of rentals. Quiet, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Loved the deck overlooking the river. Bird feeders a real plus for us and photo ops. Would high,y recommend.
We love this place! It’s absolutely magical with the house sitting right there on the river! We would love to come back. Thank you Cheryl for sharing your special place with us. Janice and Wes
We absolutely loved our stay at this magical cabin! It was thoughtfully well appointed with everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing and worry free stay. Spending time on the back deck was the highlight, as the view of the Feather River and the abundance of wildlife was breathtaking! The town of Graeagle enchanted us with it's small town charm, and every establishment was friendly and welcoming to both us and our dog.
Thank you for hosting us, Cheryl - it was a joy staying at your lovely property and we are definitely coming back!
Beautiful and relaxing setting. The deck provides hours of viewing the wildlife along the river--beavers, otters, geese, ducks. Nice big kitchen with all the essentials and a great gas stove. We will return often.
We enjoyed everything! Comfortable beds, very well equipped kitchen, nice fireplace and great location. Watching the geese in front of a warm crackling fire with a cup of hot chocolate was just what we needed. Our dogs enjoyed the fully fenced yard and the view across the feather river is lovely. Many activities to enjoy in this area. We look forward forward to returning in the future.
We look so forward to returning to this property every year. The location is spectacular right on the Feather River across from beautiful, wooded open space. The deck is large and is well set up to enjoy viewing the otters swim by regularly and the Canadian Geese and lots of other birds.
The kitchen is extremely well supplied including just about every electric appliance and pots and pans you could need as well as many food items including coffee.
Cheryl is an amazing host. She is extremely responsive and easy to work with.
We will look forward to our next visit.
I hesitate to say how much I loved our stay, because I want to keep this gem hidden so I can return any time. Cheryl is kind and communicative, and her lovely home has the best stocked kitchen - products and equipment - I've seen in my years of travelling. The home is beautiful, with stunning views of the Feather River and its wildlife, bringing the outside in. The fireplace is gorgeous, the bed soft. The hiking is spectacular and varied, with lakes, waterfalls, and rivers around every turn. The garage is stocked with recreation equipment. One of the best vacations ever.
We and our 2 dogs absolutely loved our stay at this
cabin on the river. When we arrived about 5:15p,
before even figuring out how to get into the house,
we walked inthe back yard with our bags, looked out at the river and realized a family of 5 river otters were playing just opposite the house...we hurridly got our binoculars out and were rivited to the otters.
What a welcome!! We loved everything about about
the cabin - just our kind of place...everything thing you need, comfortable, tasteful and felt like home.
Thank you - we'll be back!!! Mickie

We have stayed in numerous VRBO‘s over the years and this particular one has catapulted to the top of the favorites list. The house itself is cozy, adorable, and stocked with absolutely everything anyone could need, spotlessly clean, and oh-so comfy. And that’s just the start. The location could not have fit our needs and desires more. The Feather River flowing by, with geese landing in front of the (fenced so considerately for our four-legged family members) backyard and occasional sitings of a family of cavorting otters, just made for a tranquil and perfect place for a repose. Mere minutes from a tree lined golf course with, oh – so – friendly members, and a spectacular professional of a golf pro, rounded out a perfect vacation venue for us. We can’t wait to return next year!
Comfortable, clean, great location and dog friendly! Well equipped kitchen with everything you need if you’re planning on cooking your own meals. Nice neighborhood. Our dogs enjoyed the fenced in yard. Relaxing on the deck watching the wildlife, river and listening to the trains was great! Many hiking trails and lakes near by. We also enjoy an ice cream in Graeagle and visiting a few shops.
This is our second visit and plan to return.
Cheryl is a great host. She is very responsive and the house is extremely well stocked. Her property is ideally situated to enjoy the beauty of the area. It is centrally located on an idyllic spot along the Feather River where you can enjoy relaxing on the comfortably furnished deck watching the birds, otters, geese and whatever other
wildlife come by.
Beautiful home leaving you feel as you've just been on a retreat. The neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful . The home had all the amenities you would want and more. The host is very responsive and accommodating. We highly recommend.

About the host

I'm a retired Army officer now studying to be an artist. I spend my time indoors in the studio, at museums or cooking for friends. Otherwise, I like to be outdoors. I spend time traveling, hiking, golfing, skiing and just took up kayaking. Most recently I’ve walked the Camino de Santiago, visited the Christmas markets in Germany and Austria and hiked the Alps in Garmisch, Germany.
Why they chose this property
My family is originally from Nevada City, in the foothills. We spent our summers up in the mountains when I was growing up. Although I've travelled and lived all over the world, I still consider the Sierras some of the most beautiful country on the Earth. Plumes Pines, here at Graeagle, is the perfect place. The location is spectacular. I always dreamed of owning a cabin on the river and felt so blessed when this property came up for sale a few years ago. The views are to die for. I love sitting on the couch in the morning, drinking coffee and watching the river flow by. I can walk out to the river and watch the birds and wildlife from my own backyard.
What makes this property unique
The river views, with nothing but forest on the other side. The train track runs through the forest and you get peekaboo views of the trains going by, but it's quiet enough that you hardly hear anything. It's especially pretty at night, with the lights from the engine and caboose flashing through the trees and a faint rumble as the train passes.
