*Please note: While we do accept pets we ask that you have no more than 1 large dog or two small dogs without pre-approval. There is a $50 pet fee that will be added after you confirm your reservation. Take a step back in time when you enter our little log cabin by the river. Built in 1949, this cabin is a replica of the log cabins built by the gold seekers of Alaska. Though modern in most aspects we have retained the native charm of unfinished wood, rough, hand-hewn logs and naked beams. The inspiration for the cabin was found by my great grandfather who spent time in Alaska working on the Alcan highway. You will find evidence of its Canadian heritage throughout the cabin. The cabin sits up on a gently sloping cliff and offers excellent views of the river. Enjoy a glass of wine on the dock and relax as you watch the sun set. We love hosting and enjoy sharing the peace and serenity of this beautiful place. If you need anything at all, don’t hesitate to reach out!

The age and history of this cabin is part of the charm! The landings to sit and relax by the water was wonderful. tWe truly enjoyed watching he deer and birds every morning and evening. The only thing missing in this cabin is a dishwasher otherwise it is perfect! We definitely recommend this cabin to stay in.
We enjoyed this property. It was a great place for us to stay. We loved watching the birds and wildlife and the location as "off the beaten path" but still convenient to everything. Being on the river with a bench and chairs to sit and enjoy the scene was great. The property was well equipped for our purposes. We enjoyed the decor with antiques and local interest items.
What a lovely welcoming place! The view of the river was so beautiful and we loved watching the birds. The deer came to visit in the evening and almost came right up to us. We much enjoyed the antiques, quilts and other personalized decorations. We wish we could have stayed longer!
I rented this property for my family to stay in while visiting. The house was beautiful with lovely views of the river and beautiful grounds. The host was very accommodating. My family is already looking to book it again next year for their next visit.
This was our second stay at Cabin Cove. We keep coming back because we love the quaint and comfortable cabin, the lovely and quiet setting along the river, and proximity to family and our favorite places in Iowa Falls. We will return.
Heidi is a wonderful host. The cabin is as she said on line. Peaceful by the river. Very clean. We saw 7 deer one night right outside our window. We would definitely go again.

We stayed here because I was working in Cedar Falls and in Ames and this was a good halfway point. It is so peaceful by the river and the host was very accommodating. My husband lives with a physical disability and doesn't handle stairs well; this place has no stairs and was very accessible and worked well for him. Our dog loved it too, plenty of green space. A lovely spot in a small town, one of our favorite stops. Thank You!
Oh my gosh it was wonderful. We wete inbetween . I have grown children in a nearby town. They were able to come visit and relax by the river. What an amazing beautiful place to stay. The gals next door were wonderful as well. Thanks for sharring.
The property was clean, and the bathroom had been remodeled and the mattresses changed since our last stay.
Also, I'm pretty sure we left 2 Iowa Chops in the freezer. I think they fell behind the ice bin. Feel free to eat them. We just purchased them on Friday.
Every piece of furniture was very uncomfortable.Kitchen was very small. The whole cabin was out dated. A lot of vegetation growth outside, not trimmed up neatly.
Loved the wildlife, flowers, quilts, Tiffany-style lamps. Provides everything you could need. Wonderful experience!
The only negative thing I can think of is there is definitely a damp smell as you walk in the door. However, it still may be my new favorite place.
Enjoyed watching the deer, ground squirrels, and geese on the river. The neighborhood was very peaceful. Five minutes to downtown for shopping and restaurants. Well worth the money.
The cabin is perfect. We had a wonderful weekend and staying at the cabin helped make our visit to Iowa Falls special.
It was a pleasure communicating with Heidi…. Very personable..
Thank you!
