BEAUTIFUL RUSTIC BEACH HOME WITH A GORGEOUS SUN ROOM OVERLOOKING THE CANAL

Welcome to 1816 East Lake inside Oceanside Village. We are located in a gated community with security and numerous amenities! Adult hot tub, Pool and Kiddie pool with splash area! Indoor swimming pool too! We have private access to the Beach with car and Golf cart parking, located next to the Conche Cafe with great food and refreshing drinks right on the beach!! We are a family oriented community with special events all year long!

1816 East Lake is a 2 bedroom with 2 bathrooms completely remodeled home! New furniture, cooling/heating system, windows and flooring! Also an outside deck and a 24 x 12 screened in porch with views of the Lake n canal with many birds and waterfowl. GOLF CART, Cable, & WiFi are also are included Master bedroom has a king sized bed and private bathroom with a shower. Second bedroom has a queen size bed and a door to second bathroom which has a shower/tub combo. Kitchen has all new appliances, an island with seating for 3. Refrigerator with ice maker, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, dishes, pots/pans, glasses, utensils, ect. There is also a kitchen table that seats four. Kitchen/living room are open concept. both areas have sliding glass doors that open to the 24x12 screened in porch that has furniture and a whiskeybarrell pub table! Washer/Dryer are also include.

Sun room addition includes�2 new sliding glass doors with great view of canal.� Barn wood covering some walls�giving it that�rustic beach feel, lantern lighting on electrical switches,. This is a great place to hang out with family and friends enjoy beautiful bird watching. Nice little front yard for fishing and fire pit!

Beautiful house

The house was much more than the photos. It truly made us feel at home and the location was perfect. One whole second from the pool and less than five minutes from the beach by golf cart. And a responsive host. Made memories that will last with our children.

Excellent vacation home!

The location to the pool and splash park were ideal, good cart was provided which was wonderful for us to haul our kids and things down to the beach! We absolutely loved the screened in porch. Would highly recommend this home for your beach trip!

Nice location, not ideal for summer vacation

Honest review, property location good, well stocked to cook, golf cart a plus. BUT, air conditioning can not be turned down below 76 degrees. Mold all over bathroom doors, moldy smell throughout property. Needs MAJOR deep cleaning. De humidifier must be run continuously to help relieve the house. Feels damp in the property all the time. Could be a very nice property if owners would invest back into the property. Will not use this property again unless changes have been made.

August 2023 family vacation

House and neighbohood was very nice. We bought couple of fans for livingroom for during the day, temp was 92 to 99 degrees. The glassed in porch we never ever used , it was very hot and fan did not help. Some plumbing issues. I forgot couple things in the kitchen cabinet, i messaged owner when i realized it, to see if she will ship to me and i would pay shipping but have not heard back yet. Vacation was fun with our family being all together.

Community Nice. Communication Poor.

Overall the place was nice and decorated nice. The community that the property is quiet and we enjoyed the outdoor pool area. Very close to the beach. Communication with the owner was poor. Either received information late or not at all. Bed linens stained or had holes in them. House to hot at the owners required temperature. We would stay in the community but not at this house again.

Was a great getaway

We really enjoyed our time this week. We encountered a few minor issues when we first arrived (that were no fault of the owners). Susan was quick to respond to all of them and helped us get it settled easily. Having the golf cart included for the week was a great touch. Our kids loved riding around on it. We spent more time at the pools than the ocean and our kids ask to go back all the time. Another perk was the giant island in the kitchen. We came during COVID and there was plenty of room for us to cook every meal throughout the week since we couldn’t go to restaurants. Oceanside Village is a great place to spend a week. We never got bored and rarely had to leave the village. Thanks so much for a fun week!

Beach Vacation

I’m going to leave an honest review, because I believe the guests that stay at this property deserves it. Upon arrival to check in I was alerted by security at the gate that the scooter that I had in the back of my truck wasn’t allowed on the property per guidelines. The security almost didn’t let me on the property. I was told to not take the scooter off the truck. Keep in mind, I told Sue the property owner ahead of time that I was bringing a scooter. She put it down as a motorcycle to security. Security handed me a checklist of maybe 5 or 6 items that weren’t allowed on the property. It clearly stating moped or scooter not allowed. After my security gate lecture my family got our keycard, and checked into the home. The home temperature was set at 78 degrees. Normally people would consider that temperature uncomfortable in the summer time. We go and inspect the house to find the beds not even made. The sheets, comforters, and pillow cases in all at the foot of the bed. Imagine checking in at a hotel without the bed being made lol Next, The sun room should be called a sauna room lol No one is going to relax in that room comfortably in the summer. Next let’s go with the porch patio. The chair arms paint are rusting off. Keep in mind if you are smoker there are no ashtrays. You will have to use a bottle. Cleanliness of the property was good. Communication with the owner to the guests needs work. Sue didn’t respond back to texts. I had to leave a voicemail to get a response.

Wonderful Stay

Our family truly enjoyed our stay here. The house could definitely use more thorough cleanings between guests and maybe some regular deep cleanings. There was a good bit of hair and other dirt in the bathroom (rugs and floor), in the sunroom and under furniture but overall we had a wonderful stay!! The house is well stocked for cooking and other needs. We will definitely plan another trip to this “bye bye house” as our toddler called it!!!! Thank you to the Haneys :)

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this property, My negative review are we were a little disappointed with some of the communication for the stay not coming timely as far as paperwork needing to be printed etc. second the house was not very clean when checking in (fridge, microwave not wiped out, pillows thrown everywhere, lots of dirt on the floors, bathrooms dirty and Bathroom mirrors not cleaned, as well as the house keeper left a note she didn’t have time to finish laundry so it was left wet in the washer * the host did offer to have them come back to finish *,no toilet paper ) my other comment was the host doesn’t allow the temperature to be lowered below 78 which isn’t a very comfortable temperature for us. The positive is this place is well decorated and we love ocean side village, we liked the screened in porch, we also thought the beds were very comfortable. The golf cart was nice and worked properly. We needed the get away so we were overall happy with the stay.

Great location

Property was decorated nice and in a great location, but not accurately described as the main bathroom with tub/shower combo was not usable as the tub literally had a crack in it, the ceiling tiles were warped and falling down and the paneling was severely warped. Instructions left stated the AC could not be turned below 78 degrees or the AC unit would freeze so the place was constantly humid. There were leaks in the kitchen and bathroom ceilings by the exterior vents. There were no blind wands on the patio blinds to open and close them and they were missing several slats on the one patio door. The cushions on the sunporch had mildew from the humidity and should have been replaced. The faucet to turn on the garden hose is very difficult to access as it is hidden behind overgrown shrubbery which needs pruning. Master bedroom carpet had stains which I scrubbed myself as I could not stand looking at them.

Beautiful Place to Unwind

This property was beautifully decorated and in a great area of Oceanside. Close to the pool and other outside amentities. A golf cart was provided for a quick trip to the beach or pier. Roomy and spacious, their is a beautiful sun room to enjoy your coffee in the morning, but can get quite warm in the evening. A large island in the kitchen was convenient for preparing meals. A gas grill is also available for grilling out. This is a very clean, spacious, lovely home to spend your vacation away at.

Nice place, lovely decor, plenty of room for four adults.

Shower in master bath small, shower head leaks dimishing water flow. There seems to be an issue in the kitchen faucet as well. These are the reasons I rated this place a four star. I would return though because of the great location and beautiful relaxing setting.

Lovely cottage close to the beach

Had a fabulous week at the beach! This cottage had more room than it looks on the pictures. The screened-in porch was lovely and a great place to read every morning with coffee or play games after dinner. Loved that the rental included golf cart...bonus! (And the kids especially loved riding to the beach in style!) We walked to the pool (which again, was larger in real life than shown in stock photos). Literally one block away! We especially loved the swans in the waterway in the backyard and pond, and our 9-year-old loved looking for turtles! By far one of the cleanest rental homes we’ve stayed in...it was spotless, did not smell musty as some beach homes do due to humidity, etc. Super close to two major grocery stores. 30 min drive to Myrtle Beach (due to traffic, not necessarily distance) where we checked out pier, walked the boardwalk, and mostly people-watched! Garden City Pier was only a 10 min drive by car...much nicer than one in MB...and we actually saw sharks off the fishing pier! Kids loved watching the fishermen while we ate yummy Painters Homemade ice cream! Had a great experience at Conch Cafe next to FREE golf cart parking at the beach one night. Had one issue with keypad lock not working but owner was SUPER responsive...even after having to call her at midnight since we were locked out...and she sent a local friend right away to help is out! Lock was replaced the next morning; no problems after that. Overall, a wonderful place to stay with a great location within a larger oceanside community. Thanks for allowing us to stay!

Wonderful stay in a great place!

We had a wonderful stay at this place in Garden City. Everything was very comfortable and the house is beautifully positioned near the pool and beach. I also have to say that this place is incredibly well decorated. So well, in fact, that we had to have extra clear talks with our kids about what are and are not toys. From when we arrived, it was so great to walk into such a clean, well kept up place after a long drive. The furniture is very comfortable (though the sofa bed has a very thin mattress) and let our family of 5 feel right at home. Riding the cart around the community works out well and the kids really liked exploring and going to different places in that thing. It seems like everyone in the neighborhood has one, so its clearly needed. Being right next to the water is also nice. There are regularly geese that honk by (as they cross the street) and its pretty relaxing watching them hang out by the water from the sunroom. I also want to say that the owners of the place were very easy to get ahold of and very helpful when we needed it. I would normally like to have rated the place 4 and a half stars, but could not. One reason for that is that, as a big guy, the showers are small (one is like the size of a cruise ship shower and the other is very, very slippery with little to hold on to). My kids liked sliding around, but I almost fell down a couple of times. The other reason was that Garden City and the community itself are kind of blah. There is not much of a reason to be in either place (the community was a bit crowded but not in a friendly way) and Garden City seems like just a place next to Myrtle. That being said, I reiterate that we had an amazing time at the house and I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay near the beach.

A grand stay!

My stay at Oceanside Village was pleasant and most satisfying. The general location of the village was near to restaurants, memento shops, and most importantly the beach. The House was a ready, cozy and comfortable. The beds were great, the kitchen was adequate and the porch was grand! I enjoyed the amount of security cars I saw patrolling the neighborhood ensuring all the residents were following the rules and the set curfew stated at night. The distance from the house to the beach was 5 minutes away with a private gold cart parking lot only accessible to Oceanside village residents via a special card, which made finding a suitable parking spot a lot easier. The village had a wide assortment of recreational facilities such as a indoor pool, a outdoor mini-water park, a park Etc. I enjoyed my stay and would most certainly recommend a stay at Oceanside village.
